“Could have stayed longer”
Reviewed 2 September 2014 via mobile

We stayed for 9 nights in August 2014. We arrived after 11pm, so there was no queue to check in, however the humour of the Chap on Reception did not translate.

The room was clean and well presented, and the air conditioning was welcome as temperatures rarely dropped below 35 degrees.

Breakfast was served on the roof terrace and was always lovely. Dinner was served outside. Food was varied and nice. Restaurant staff couldn't do enough for us.

There is nothing for children to do at this hotel and the few children that we did see there looked bored. Not a criticism of the hotel at all. If you have children who aren't self sufficient, don't take them to this hotel.

We spent a couple of days on the jetty sunbathing, and at times we didn't see any other guests. It was wonderfully quiet.

I have 2 criticisms – 1) everything seemed like effort to the Reception staff – from asking for another bath towel, to help with confirming our transfer home. 2) The hair dryer in the bathroom doubled as a shaver socket, which didn't work unless you stood there pushing the plug in. More of a design issue with the hair dryer than a fault with the hotel.

This was the first holiday in a long time where we weren't ready to come home – we could have stayed at the hotel for another week!

As for other reviews about “snobby yacht owners”, we don't own a yacht, we didn't hear anyone commenting, and we felt perfectly at home. We would definitely go back to this hotel.

Trips – Dalyan is well worth it. Oludeniz is geared toward the British. If you picked the Ece Saray, Oludeniz probably isn't for you. Tuesday market in Fethiye is massive; the spices and fruit are impressive. Fethiye itself is still very turkish, so if you're looking to experience something of turkey, Fethiye is for you.

All-in-all, the hotel was really nice – quiet, good food and lots of space to enjoy the sun.

Arrived late evening and after an easy check-in we were showed to our 2nd floor bedroom which had amazing views over the Marina. The room was spacious, very clean, and more than adequate. The location of our room was perfect, not under the breakfast roof terrace and not on the ground floor! The beds were fairly hard and there was pillow menu to choose from! The bathroom was slightly small, but everything was spotless and clean. Complimentary toiletries were available too.
The breakfast was more than adequate, a hot choice of eggs, omelette, creeps, etc and then the normal selection of cold meats and cheeses, breads, jams etc. The waiter served as much tea and coffee as you requested, all served on the roof terrace over looking the marina, so watching all the boats entering and leaving the marina was great to see!
We were half board and found the evening meals on the whole lovely. The hotel offered a different themed evening every night- Mexican, oriental, Turkish, international, fish etc. a mixture of buffet style or to choose from the menu.
The staff at the hotel were more than accommodating. Very attentive and polite, all seem happy and cheerful!
The pool area was a very quiet area. The pool was of perfect size with a jacuzzi near the shallow end and wide shallow steps into the shallow end and ladder steps at 3 other areas into the deep end. Two towels per person were given by the lovely pool man and lots of sun beds and umbrellas to choose from. A covered bar area serving drinks and ice cream, no pool side food served, if you wanted lunch, you need to go down onto the jetty and eat over looking the marina!! A gorgeous view, what more could you ask for?
Just outside the front of the hotel at the Marina there is an outside bar - the Jetty Bar, which is lovely to sit at and enjoy an evening drink pre or after dinner. It is so quiet and relaxing just to sit and soak up the atmosphere.
We had a Turkish Bath and massage at the Hotel Spa which cost around 120 Turkish Lira- £35, for two, which lasted approx 25 mins, we had one at the beginning of the holiday and then one at the end, pure heaven!
Overall we found the hotel to be very relaxing and peaceful. As this hotel seems to be filled with guests looking for quiet and peaceful surroundings, the only "disturbance" we found was on some days we had additional guests who came from the boats to use the Marina facilities. The peace and the quiet disappeared very quickly with noisy children ruining our tranquil afternoons!
The hotel is situated very close to town, approx a 5 - 10 min flat walk along the harbour brings you into town. Town offering all the normal shops and restaurants, opening about 10am and closing around midnight.
There was a small supermarket at the marina, about a 2 min walk which sold most items. Also a restaurant called MOD, which was lovely for lunch if you fancied a change.
We were leaving at 6pm, but had to check out at noon, so they kept our luggage for us and were able to use the showers and facilities at the spa to wash and change so we didn't miss every opportunity of sunshine and the pool!!
We had a super holiday meeting very polite, interesting and lovely people who all seemed to want the same kind of holiday - peaceful and relaxing ! If you have young children, then this hotel is probably not for you as there are few facilities for them.
Definitely we would recommend this hotel and would love to return!
A message for Madge- "red shorts " made his young date cry over dinner - horrible man!!! and seemed to tell very different stories to all who he spoke to! His behaviour seemed to be very odd and very irritating, heaven help those on the gullit!! Man over board I think!!! Hope your well x

I loved this hotel, the rooms are very spacious, superb breakfast on the roof terrace loking at the marina, the area is secluded and calm, and you are about 5 streets from downtown, nice and clean swimming pool, we had one a la carte dinner in the marina , and was very very good

Room Tip: All the rooms overlook the marina

We booked the hotel through ice lolly.com and got a very good rate for half oars. We were given room 310 and after the first morning of being woken by the sound of chairs being moved in the breakfast terrace we asked to change rooms. We were given room 210 where you could still hear the chairs, although not so much that it woke you up. The view on the second floor was very nice, but the third floor was better. So heed the advice in other reviews and avoid rooms 307-310. The location is perfect with lovely views, and the cabana on the pier a very romantic setting for champagne at sunset. The hotel restaurant is wonderfully set next to the marina with large shoals of feeding fish being a nice spectacle. The quality of the food was good and the choice very good with a buffet style menu most night. the Turkish maze obvious being the best evening and the Far Eastern night being the only food below par. The waiters were very polite and always had a pleasant smile. The pool is very well designed and the staff very attentive. There is also a spa, which is worth the hotel premium over the local Turkish Baths frequented by the hoards of tourists. The separate marina is very pleasant and a has a nice, albeit expensive bar. We have no real complaints other than the management at reception were frankly indifferent and miserable and let the hotel down with their obvious aloofness over the other staff. This must be addressed. However, we intend to return to this hotel should we visit Fethiye again. It is probably not suited to families, but and ideal hotel for couples over 30's who are looking for a romantic and quiet setting at a reasonable price.

We had a relaxing two night stay here. The hotel has wonderful setting overlooking the marina, with no passing traffic noise. There is a large pool, as well as a variety of other sunbathing options. The excellent breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace.

We did not dine there in the evenings as the menu looked rather limited, and there was a different 'theme' every night.

One small area of crticisim: loud, piped music in some of the public outside areas, and at breakfast which is unnecessary, and just annoying. I sometimes think that such music is for the benefit of staff rather than guests.

I have paid significantly more than this, and have received substantially less in terms of service and ambiance.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the marina are the best

My wife and daughter became seasick on the first day of a gulat cruise out of Fethiye so we had to scramble to find a room. This place was highly rated in the Rough Guide so I called and luckily were able to get a suite. It was a very spacious two rooms allowing a private bedroom for our 16 year old daughter. After having a terrific dinner the first night we purchased the half board (breakfast/dinner) option for a very reasonable price.

We have stayed at many luxury properties in Hawaii, across Europe and in the USA. I would compare this moderately sized hotel favourably with most of them. The pool is stunning. It is huge and located on an elevated deck overlooking the marina and harbour. The harbour water is clean and one has the option of jumping off the dock if the pool becomes boring. There are a variety of interesting sunbathing options too...hammocks, cabanas and comfortable lounge chairs. There is a friendly and efficient food and beverage service available all day. There appeared to be many guests who never left the pool area!

The food was fabulous. Breakfast was on a terrace on the roof with a spectacular harbour view. Unlike many Turkish hotels it included hot dishes cooked to order as well as the usual buffet items. The dinners though were amazing. The restaurant was outdoors with tables on the edge of the water. One could feed the large fish bits of bread creating feeding frenzies. Each night was themed....seafood, Asian and Turkish the nights we were there with huge selections of desserts and salads and excellent soups each night. This was all for 15 Euros per person! Another little bonus was having 2 parrots in the lobby....much fun to play with.

Our room was 150 Euros a night for the aforementioned large suite. I've paid three times that much and had less for my money. Fethiye is a pleasant city to walk though down the marina from the hotel it becomes a lot busier and tackier. The ferry to Rhodes is a 2 minute walk from the hotel and that might be a nice day trip the next time we return....because we certainly will.

Beautiful setting, small non-fussy hotel with comfortable, cosy furnishings, compact and friendly staff, excellent food, and wonderful setting for both breakfast on the roof terrace and evening meal on the board-walk over looking the Marina. Swimming Pool and areas dedicated for sun-bathing and relaxing in the quiet surroundings of the Marina were fantastic, we just did not want to return home!
