“Perfect setting for a relaxing holiday”
Reviewed 7 October 2010

Wonderful hotel in a perfect setting right on the marina with all rooms enjoying great views of the boats. Fantastic pool and the staff are terrific - cannot do enough to help and are a delight. Special mention has to go to Mustafa, Yeliz and Gulhan at the breakfast service - they are anxious to make sure you have everything you need/want and they always have a smile: we really missed them when we came home! We were at Ece Saray on a B&B basis but heard glowing reports of the food on offer in the evenings: sadly we never got around to trying it as there were so many good places to eat in Fethiye itself. Maybe next time when we stay - would definitely love to return. Only one minor grumble and that is that the beds are rather hard - you do get used to them (and they may well prove to be good for your back!) but bearing in mind the quality of everything else provided by this lovely hotel it seemed a shame that the beds were uncomfortable.

1st Visit to Turkey and we were lucky enough to happen upon The Ece Saray.
My wife and I travelled with another couple and were blown away by the hotel.
The resort was spotlessly clean and the rooms turned out to be mini suites.
The accommodation was excellent and the pool, spa and bar areas were fantastic, my only concern was the price of drinks around the pool and marina but if you want to spoil yourself then forget the extra couple of lira and enjoy the views and the service. Breakfast was excellent however the staff whilst very attentive were a little vacant at times but we put that down to language barriers. 5 minute walk to a huge variety of bars, restaurants and shops, all reasonably priced but we found it difficult to pass the MOD bar (2 minutes from the hotel) and restaurant. The 2nd night we ate there and then a further 3 times over 8 nights as the food was amazing and with a price tag of a little over £35 a head for 2 courses and 2 bottles of good wine for 4 people it wasn't over the top. Just a couple of things to consider, we booked direct with the hotel with no transfer so set aside 120 Turkish Lira for your Taxi journey to the hotel (£55 approx) 50 minutes and 100 TL for the return. The small charter boats around the town are worth the money, we booked a small boat, 'The Captain Midnight' a little frayed around the edges with a mad Captain called Ali
He Was so much fun, looked after my friends 9 month old baby like she was royalty and fed us all like kings - all for around £150 plus drink.

Couldn’t agree more with the really good reviews, wonderful setting, great staff, stunning scenery. Service second to none…. This takes some beating, my wife is in a wheelchair, one evening enjoying a very much needed glass of wine at the marina bar, what turned out to be the owner noticed my wife in a chair and by the next day had arranged for a ramp to be built. That service takes some beating!!!!!

Use the water taxi, very pleasant helpful staff, eat out more locally, so much to choose from and local taxis good value and very helpful.

Just returned from holiday and have never done a review before....we were in need of a restful break after a tough year...this would have been perfect .The transfer to the hotel was excellent-SO nice not to get on a coach with the people we had to share a plane with(-tip to Classic-can you use an airline with an upgrade available please?)
The hotel was in a setting that could not be bettered,we had a suite-(well worth the extra money) on the top floor and as it was on a corner,we had 3 balconies...absolute perfection with views over the marina and mountains...clean,roomy and comfortable.Plenty of room for clothes etc
We emptied the minibar and filled it with our own drinks as the prices were expensive(there's a Carrefour just along the front within the marina that was as cheap as any other supermarket we found.)
The downside was the constant " muzak" that was played in a loop all day wherever you went-I ended up losing it at the pool after Elvis did his 3rd tinny round-In all fairness, they did turn it off for about an hour after!.
Vivaldi at the front of the hotel whilst lounging on the jetty was fine the first day,but after 4 days we'd resorted to earplugs! This really spoilt what should have been a lovely peaceful location. If we had wanted to listen to music we would have taken our ipods.
The staff did try,but there seems to be a lack of leadership...not 5* service at all....however,they were all working long hours and it is near the end of the season.Guhlan our coffee fairy deserves a mention as she was the best there.
Food was ok-breakfast was good, evening meal was ok as long as they stuck to themed buffet nights....normal nights we ate out after trying it once.
I would recommend this hotel but they do need to polish their act up to deserve the 5* rating it has.

We have just returned from the Ece Saray Hotel and can honestly say it was one of the nicest hotels wer have ever stayed in. The location was perfect overlooking the marina and our room had a superb view of the whole of the marina area.
The breakfast offered was second to none, loads of choice and the cooked selection was done to order - no hot plates here with the food hanging around!
The evening meal too was good, buffet starter and dessert (loads of choice) and very nicely presentated and arranged. The main meal was waiter served and again loads of choice. The fish night was particularly good. Also we sat out on the terrace which was just sucha lovely place to be.
The swimming pool was lovely and big and exceptionally clean, like the rest of the hotel.
The staff at reception were extremely helpful and could not do enough to assist.
All in good a gem of a hotel.
Cannot recommend this hotel too highly.

We've just come back from 10 days at the Ece Saray and can honestly say it was one of the best holidays we've ever had. Our purpose for visiting Fethiye was a wedding invitation plus a holiday and we will certainly return to the Ece Saray as we think we've found a little gem of a hotel. We'd agree with all the previous Trip Advisor recent comments about the hotel and have to heartily agree with the praise for Mustafa around the pool - he went that extra mile to make sure everyone had everything they needed. The location of the hotel speaks for itself - idyllic but also convenient for all the town activities. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis but enjoyed eating in the waterside restaurant so much that we went there 5 times! The choice of food was more than adequate with something for everyone's taste and the desserts.......wow! The nightly cooked dessert was always something to look forward to. If there had to be a small gripe (and really small!) it would be to say that the bathrooms could do with a make-over just to perk them up a bit. However everywhere in the hotel was excellently clean with big, fluffy white towelschanged daily and none of those annoying "environment" notices about using towels! We found the staff generally very friendly and if they did seem a bit distant, then it was down to language problems. Sorry the lady in July found the English lad working as a porter unfriendly, we chatted to him and thought he was just a bit shy! We're back to cool and wet Belgium now and are really wishing we were back at the Ece Saray - we will be one day, that's for sure!

We have just returned from our 3rd visit to Ece Saray and it just gets better.

There is little to add to the other reviews other than to confirm all the positives. The only niggles (small) are shortage of storage space in the rooms, beds a bit hard, no air conditioning in gym (didn't worry me but had a fitness enthusiast with us). As a previous reviewer has stated a hook on the bathroom door for the robes would be great.

We were B&B as we love to eat down town but did eat in one night after a "busy" day on the water (more later) when we hadn't the energy for the 10 minute walk! The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Breakfast on the rooftop admiring the boats in the Marina below was to die for. Sadly we found our favourite restaurant on the last night - Os Saray next to Duck Pond. We were highly entertained and had wonderful hospitality with the best (and cheapest other than Pasha Kebab) meal of the holiday. They just couldn't do enough for us and had a wonderful extensive menu - could eat in the street or up on the rooftop. Will certainly head straight back there next time.

Hotel staff are excellent, particularly Ersu in restaurant and pool bar, also Hussain at the pool. On our third day we were down at the pool early as always (early risers) to find that he had reserved our beds for all four of us and even remembered how may towels we each used. I thought the Germans had moved in!! Many other wonderful staff who sadly I didn't get names for.

Most of the guests are English and mostly middle aged, nice class of people. We only wished we could have stayed longer with new found friends.

The highlight of the week however had to be the two gulet trips that we had booked with Captain Midnight on his small(ish) gulet. Extremely reasonably priced we booked it privately for the 4 of us before we left UK. There would have been room for more but it was just fantastic to have so much space. His BBQ was fantastic. We fished, swam in many bays, employed the service of a passing water ski boat (after too much wine!) and ice cream boat! The Captain Ali, partner Karen, Mikey and Dodgy (yes really!) pulled out all the stops for a fantastic time not getting back into harbour until after 6.30 pm. Check out his website for photos but can heartily recommend.

All in all would heartily recommend Ece Saray to anyone - you will not be disappointed,
