“Lovely surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2012

After reading the mixed reviews about this holiday we were a bit concerned. However, the resort was lovely and we had a lovely holiday. My hubby and I stayed there for a week from the 17th of May and paid approx 500pp incl. flights and transfers - so a bargain for what we experienced. This was our first time to Turkey and an all inclusive - we usually go on city breaks and cruises

Food- good selection of food, every night in the main eating area there was a different featured main each night e.g. fresh tuna, kebabs, chickens. The food was cooked to a very high standard and reflected traditional Turkish food. We don’t really snack throughout the day but I believe there was food available throughout the day in one of the bar areas. I am quite fussy about my coffee but the cafe crème available from some of the machines was lovely. The shops in the complex were more expensive than the one just outside the complex but still not too bad a price e.g. 75p for a Mars bar

Drinks - of very good standard and branded. The beer available (Efes) was available in light, normal or dark. Soft drinks were Coke, Tango etc. The wine available in eating area was pleasant too

Room - we stayed in Club room 1406. Good size room, very clean. As mentioned in previous reviews the walls are VERY thin - you can hear next door close their drawers! We did hear the base form music played in the resort but with earplugs I slept very well. The rooms are serviced everyday. TV wise - if you needed there are several English films or sitcoms on the Turkish channels

Spa - had a Turkish bath and massage. Nice experience but make sure you haggle as their spa treatments are not to the same standard as in UK i found.

Feithye - really easy to get to. Nice place and good for a few visits. We went to the Tuesday market which is full of fake bags/clothes. Not really our thing but it was great fun to walk round.

Entertainment & resort points - we didn’t have much to do with the Anime team but one thing was evident - they work very very hard. Pool exercises and aerobics were also available daily. The pool is lovely and the deep end is quiet. The beach is bit stoney but lovely. Sunsets were fab to watch. The resort is beautiful - lovely grounds.

Service - pleasant staff who responded well when smiled at. The only negative was that certain waiting staff took away your drinks/plates even though it was obvious you were still eating e.g. you had stopped to digest a bit/to breathe and they would take plate away. However, only a few did this so we avoided them and did not sit in their "area".

I think Thomson have not renewed their contract but Thomas Cook still go there. We will be booking for next May as we had a lovely relaxing holiday.

We stayed at Club Majesty Tuana for a week in the middle of May this year. I can only assume that some people are extremely hard to please, as we had fantastic time!

The booking in process was very efficient and the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. This set the tone for the rest of the holiday, as all of the staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Please smile at the staff and say please and thank you; they really appreciate it and you would be surprised how many rude people there are - normally they were Brits!

We stayed in a Club Room which was very spacious and clean; the bathroom was lovely. Towels and bedding changed daily. The only downside to the room was that the air con was not that cold, although this is probably down to us not knowing how to use it!

We did not try the Ala Cart restaurants as the food in the main restaurant was absolutely lovely. We only had lunch once as we were normally still stuffed from breakfast! There was always an excellent selection at all meals, with food constantly been cooked on the grills and BBQs. The pizza served during the afternoon snacks was outstanding - as were the fresh cooke doughnut balls! We never tried the midnight snacks (served from 2300 - 0000 hrs) as wew were still bloated from dinner!.

The drinks package was the best AI drinks package we have ever had. Beefeater Gin, Jim Beam Bourbon, Malibu and Schweppes mixtures! The local brandy was very good, as was the Raki, although the Whiskey was a little rough. Efes lager was on draught (self service and bar service), it was also available in cans and bottles. Efes Light was available in bottles, as was Efes Dark (very nice, but very strong!). There was an excellent cocktail list (included in AI) and they would make any drink up for you that you asked for. Real Coca Cola (included in AI) was on draught, served out of large bottles, or in small glass bottle (Diet Coke was also served).

We both had a Turkish Bath and massage in the hotel's spa, which we haggled down to £22.50 each and it lasted for a full hour - a great experience! They will ask you, or advise you to have more treatments, but once you say no, they do not hassle you further.

We loved Fethiye and the Tuesday market is a must (use tth Dolmus £2.00 each way), as the trips only give you a limited time there. You can buy your fish fresh from the market and the surrounding restaurants will prepare it, cook it and serve it with a sauce, garlic bread and salad for about £2.50 per person.

They love British Pounds over any other currency and you will get a much better exchange rate (commission free) from the banks over there than you will in the UK.

No matter who you travel with, have a look at the ''Hotels For You'' board in reception and book your trips through them; they are much, much cheaper than the UK Travel Agents trips. However, if you want to do a 12 island, or other boat cruise, take the Dolmus to Fethiye, walk to the marina and book it directly boat owners in the harboir - this is by far the cheapest way to book your boat trips.

The only negative is the lack of a late night indoor bar (reception bar closes at midnight), however, this did not stop us having an absolutely fantastic holiday and we would most definitely return to Club Majesty Tuana!!!

Room Tip: We had a Club Room, which was very central and we loved it!

Booked through travel republic(no problems encountered).Picked up swiftly after landing and transferred to resort. The area around the hotel appeared quite poor. First impressions of hotel were mixed the hotel lacked the sumptious feel of quality of our previous holidays to Turkey.
Check in was swift we hired a safety deposit box and were then transferred to our room on a golf buggy. First impression of the grounds were good , well maintained garden areas over quite a vast area. We were in a room on Park 2 . On initial inspection of our room i was again a little disappointed we had previously stayed in 4/ 5* hotels in Turkey and whilst clean the room lacked any luxurious qualities it was somewhat basic. I would rate the rooms a 3*.
We explored our surroundings the hotel is split into areas 1 very busy area near the childrens entertainment and restaurants with the beach and pier being close by, there were 2 bar areas were drinks were freely available. The 2nd area was within the Park 2 area. There was a smaller pool and childrens pool area with a bar and another pool in close proximity which was slightly deeper and therefore very quiet ( at the time we visited) this also has a bar. There are 2 snack bars serving food which was not fantastic but adequate. There are snacks of donuts and ice cream served as well. The main Majesty bar serves 24hrs whilst the others close at midnight. The local gin, vodka and Efes beer were adequate and cerainly not watered down. There is a tennis court and football pitch as well as volley ball for those feeling energetic.
The staff throughout the resort were helpful and attentive . It became very apparent that this is a family resort and very geared up with children in mind . Not a problem as it was very quiet at the time we travelled .However i would expect it to be a little butlins like in the main summer months.
The food i found to be of a very good standard compared to other all inclusive resorts. There was always a choice of fresh fish and meat which was always warm and plentiful. A variety of salads ,breads and other foods. The only problem i could encounter would be in the busy months were seating in the restaurant may be difficult. You must first find a table then go to the restaurant to choose your food. There is no waiter service for drinks . There are 3 Al la carte restaurants which we didnt try but we believe the turkish one was lovely.
The trip to Fethiye on the dolmus is a bargain 2 euros takes around 30 mins.we ate at a retaurant called Address on the harbour front this was lovely and very reasonable. We found the people in Fethiye very friendly and enjoyed haggling for our gifts. We visited the Car cemetry pub which is a laugh they have every cocktail imaginable. The Dalyan trip was great ,we thoroughly enjoyed seeing the tombs , the turtles and the mud bath and thermal spa.The weather was very good just very cool in the evenings and all the entertainment is outside.
To conclude we had a lovely sunshine break with plentiful food and drinks.

Our second visit to Tuana as we enjoyed it so much last year, mainly couples and families with very small children fairly relaxed and quiet. I can only think that this time they had a very cheap promotion as the hotel was heaving with single-sex groups and families.

It is still a beautiful place to stay, rooms and grounds kept in excellent condition and the beach "swept" daily. There was plenty of choice for food and drinks, the staff worked tirelessly to clear tables, although its a bit manic in the main restaurant - I am surprised they don't have more accidents.

Very loud music around the main pool area but plenty of places to escape to. Programme of activitity for those who wanted to join in & no pressure put on.

Plenty of sun beds available, but guests did get up (goodness knows what time!) and reserved all the red cushions - perhaps the hotel should charge a small fee for these to give everyone a fair chance?

Difficult to know what to do in the evenings if you don't want to sit outside (it was fairly chilly in May) as all entertainment and bars are in the open. Ended up sitting in the small area in reception but not ideal.

Nice to get away for a couple of weeks to relax but a bit out of the way so could not go anywhere in the evening unless we wanted to catch the dolmus into Fethiye.

Don't think we'll return - seems to be gearing up to the younger generation & families.

Returned yesterday from Majesty. Wasn't sure what to expect as have been to Turkey on AI before and let down.

It was great, our 4 yo son thoroughly enjoyed himself and should we go on holiday next year we will be booking to go here again and won't even bother to look elsewhere.

I probably wouldn't go in high season as I think the self service restaurant would be WAY busy and not so enjoyable (there is a lot of to-ing and fro-ing to get things and when tables are difficult to come by it does but a downer on dinner). Same goes for sun beds and the kids pool - I think this could be rather overcrowded in the summer holiday season.

If you have pre-school children then I think this is a great holiday destination. I wouldn't have enjoyed the hotel before having family so I wouldn't particularly recommend it for couples.

I used the spa - Azu was brilliant - but do be prepared for the hard sell after your first visit (for subsequent visits and products).

I think we were in park one which had a much quieter pool as the kiddies pool didn't have a slide, ice creams all day though!

I watched some of the bar staff serving Turkish guests before others - and denying any knowledge of it. However, all the staff are generally very helpful when required with the exception of animation team who do get everyone going.

Room Tip: Park 2 (I think) is quieter.

First time at The Tuana and hopefully not the last. Cannot fault the place. We have been going all inclusive for 15 years, to several countries and venues and this is the best yet. We were in a Park room and it had everything you need. Decor and tidiness were of a good standard. Food was excellent and many of the drinks are International Brands which is very rare. You could serve yourself beer and bottles of water are everywhere which meant the bars were not over busy and you hardly had to queue.Staff are friendly and efficient and always willing to help. Special mention to Musa, Ahmed, Erkan and Samet for their service. Animation team were very good and yet not pushy. If you didnt fancy joining in it really didnt matter. They willing to just have a chat with you. We had a wonderful time. Thank You, Majesty Tuana.

Room Tip: Park rooms are quieter
