We always try to have a weeks holiday somewhere quiet and stress free. We have never quite achieved it in the past but ECE not only achieved it but exceeded it. The whole experience from the telephone booking system at Exclusive Escapes, the flight from the jet terminal at Stansted and the hotel was perfect. Handan, her husband and the entire staff treated us like members of the family. Nothing is too much trouble and always a genuine friendly smile not the tourist " Have a nice day" smile.
Dont go here for the night clubs, tv and internet. Go for the tranquility, excellent food and good company.

We arrived late on October 21st but the boat trip to the island was so lovely and exciting and from the moment we arrived at Ece we felt at home especially when lovely Osman said the bar was always open!
We loved our spacious room and when we woke next morning the view from our room was incredible and the evening sunsets were amazing! We particularly liked the tea/coffee making facilities in the room which is unusual in Turkey.
The buffet breakfast was lovely every day; freshly squeezed orange juice, cereal, fresh and dried fruits with a variety of cheeses. pancakes, cheesy bread, spicy sausage and eggs cooked to order with good coffee or tea set us up for our lovely chilled day beautifully.
We went to Fethiye on the complimentary boat service, for a traditional Turkish bath, on the first morning which we all enjoyed
We were on holiday with our daughters aged 28 and 30 who both loved the Ece experience. They both have their Padi dive certificate and lovely Jasmin, our Exclusive Escapes representative, arranged for them to go diving with a local company from Fethiye and although they hadn't dived for about 10 years they really enjoyed the experience and everything quickly came back to them.
Our complimentary gulet boat trip was exceptional and the food delicious.
We ate in the hotel restaurant every night and the food lived up to our expectations - our compliments to the chef. Wonderful homemade olive bread was served every night. The set menu was good value and we were able to share the mezes as they were very substantial and please try the local Turkish Doluca wines which are very good
Handan, the hotel owner, was always quietly in the background and Osman and his team looked after us very well - hats off to them they were always there to help or serve.
Hayder the masseuse/chiropractor was available most days and I would recommend him - he is very knowledgable and I personally felt wonderful after my treatment.
Ece proved to be a fabulous place to chill and recharge our batteries - there was always a quiet place to sit in the sun or shade but our week there slipped by very quickly hence we have booked to go again next May - I can't wait!
Few tips;
Ece has an extensive library of holiday reads.
The resident large bouncy pooch is lovely and is always happy to go for a walk but will kill the local chickens so needs to be on a lead at all times!
A canoe and 2 kayaks are available to go round the island but best done by 11am as the sea becomes more choppy after this although our elder daughter did kayak at other times and she also swam round the island a couple or times.
If you fancy some hard exercise whilst there run up and down the hill from the beach a few times and you will achieve this!
We saw a few wild tortoises near Ece and were lucky enough to see a turtle when we were on the boat going to Fethiye - sadly we never saw any dolphins.
Thank you to all concerned for making our holiday so memorable.

Lovely, lovely, lovely.
Spent half a day in Fethiye, that was enough; didn't need to leave the island again, except for the fantastic gulet day.
Food was great, staff were great (especially Osman and Speedy, although I share Cleverandrew_64's concerns), even the thunder storm was great. And when I say that that the rooms had picture windows, I mean IMAX! Wonderful views, especially in the evening.
Our bed was a bit hard - so they gave us a mattress topper which solved the problem. Obviously used to soft Brits.
The Ada beach club is a delightful place to go and relax; unlike most it really is a beach, so you can walk into the sea rather than plunge. Lunch there is good.
There are lots of steps, but what do you expect? (Careful of the top one, it's higher than the rest, and we both tripped on it!)
Exclusive Escapes look after you really well, and the fishing boat across to the island is part of the fun.

Room Tip: They're all good, but those in the newer block (Gulf View) are slightly bigger. They all face we...

We have never had a poor experience with Exclusive Escapes, and this hotel was not the exception. We had planned to stayed here for 4 days and go and have a look round Fethiye and the area, but the place was so nice, we didn't leave the island for the whole time - other than to go on a Gulet trip.

My only slight concern was that Osman, who is brilliant, is only one person -head waiter, handyman, barman and general go to guy, and sometimes he appears a little stretched.

Quite a few steps to climb from sea to pool to room, but worth it. bed quite hard, which was a shame, but otherwise room very good, simple, but good.

Make sure you have a massage, amazing.

Room Tip: Would recommend you do not have a room on ground floor, the view is slightly diminished.

For the last seven years we have been holidaying in Turkey. Ece is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. We always stay in Sahin as it is the first terrace to get the sun! The ambience in the hotel is superb and the guests are discerning and often repeat visitors. Handan has vision and is gradually making Ece and Sovalye a paradise! I booked again this year to take advantage of the Sunset restaurant which closed the first year we visited. Eating and watching a sunset is my idea of heaven. On Saturday we return for our fifth visit and I am so excited.

Room Tip: All the rooms are good, choose a ground floor room if you don't want lots of steps and forget th...

We spent a week of our honeymoon at Ece and loved every minute of it. Everyone was incredibly friendly, willing to help with all the little things that can take ages if you do not know the area or the language very well. The island and hotel are stunning. A variety of levels where you can relax and read, by the pool, under the trees, by the sea, all very quiet and exlusively for guests. The whole place, rooms, poolside, loungers etc was very clean and the inclsuive boat trip was fantastic. The view from our room (Kartal) was stunning. Handan has created a wonderful laid back retreat, finished to a high standard, and the new restaurant, a short walk across the island, provides another quiet spot, with fantastic views. if you want to totally chill, read and relax, this is for you!

Room Tip: Kartal top flor, great view

How often can someone say 'checking in is a delight'? Exclusive Escapes makes sure of it at Stansted. Bags are taken from the car and checked in for you as you park up and walk 1 min to the check in lounge, big sofas, refreshments and a short wait till boarding.
Wonderful hotel on small island, no small children so lovely and relaxing. Staff were all friendly. Top room had fantastic views, even spotted turtles most days swimming past. A week was enough as we have visited Turkey several times so didn't want to go on any trips apart from the free Gulet trip, just wanted to relax by the pool, or on the beach platform reading, having a dip and relaxing. We walked to the beach club a couple of times, lovely food, attentive staff.

Room Tip: Lovely room at the top but quite a few steps to climb from the beach!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Ece Boutique Hotel on the island of Sovalye enjoys the most spectacular location on the water's edge, with 12 spacious rooms with wonderful sea views. The 11 spacious rooms (and one two-bedroom suite) are divided between two buildings and each open-plan room has a double or twin bed, a sitting area, fabulous picture windows to maximize the view, and a large balcony or terrace with, of course, more superb views out to sea. The Terrace Restaurant and pool area are the focal point of the hotel. Guests are requested to book at breakfast for the special dinner that is prepared each evening with the freshest of ingredients. Steps lead down from the restaurant past terraced gardens dotted with secret hideaways - to the Private Waterfront. Here guests can relax by the water's edge enjoying the wonderful views. An 'honesty bar' is located and a waiter service is provided on the terraces to ensure guests don't have to climb up the hill too often! The active are well catered for with the complimentary water sports and will enjoy the challenge of paddling around the island, or swimming - which is a little harder! At the tip of the island, a ten-minute walk from Ece, is the simple sand and shingle Sunset Beach - home to the Ada Beach Club & Restaurant. This magical setting provides the perfect vantage point from which to watch the sun dip below the horizon. Having tasted the unique atmosphere of Sovalye, we find that Guests rarely elect to venture from the island. However, on the occasions they do it is a simple hop across the water to the harbour town of Fethiye where its Turkish and cosmopolitan delights await your exploration as does the Lycian coastline beyond. A complimentary water-taxi operates three times throughout the day and evening from the hotel approximately 20-minutes to Fethiye and 7-minutes to Calis Beach. ... more   less
