we have just come back from this amazing hotel!!!!! What a wonderful place no cars a plus and no children a bigger plus!!!! Our room was huge and so lovely clean, private and a fab view!!!! We loved Osman a really lovely host who could not do enough for you, and I loved the fact that he made a point of knowing your names and really looked after you!!!! To the point of when we departed he carried my pink handbag!!!!!! due to me having a swollen ankle and he was making sure I was ok!!!! The breakfast were so lovely nothing was too much for the chef!!!! The restaurant for a hotel was amazing all freshly cooked food made to order!!!!!! I really cannot fault this hotel in anyway perfect !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our visit to Ece was again superb. The addition of the Sunset restaurant and beach club at the end of the island was a hit. A steady walk or a quick boat trip from the sun deck.
The hotel kitchen had been revamped and the food service was excellent.
We stayed in Sahin on the top floor. We spent a lot of time on the balcony, which gets the sun after breakfast until sunset.
The sea temperature in late September was comfortable and when out on the gulet trip I swam for nearly an hour!
The infinity pool at the hotel was a favoured spot for those wanting shade. With only 11 rooms there are never more than 25 guests, it is more a house party than a hotel.
You can get to Fethiye easily by boat and have plenty of time to get a bus to Olu Deniz or visit the historic sites.

Having had great experiences previously with Exclusive Escapes in the region, (Beyaz Yunus Faralya near near Olu Deniz, and Deniz Feneri Lighthouse in Kas), we decided this year to try Ece on Sovalye near Fethiye. A few disappointments this time, due to the location of the hotel:

The site is advertised as an isolated, peaceful and beautiful island but the fact is, this island is just a five minute boat ride from a heavily developed beach. At night, the lights and noise from hotels, bars and clubs on that stretch of beach drift across the water. Every afternoon, day boats from Fethiye invade Sovalye, dropping their anchors just a few hundred feet from the hotel, often blaring loud music, There are no cars on the island, but don't anticipate long peaceful strolls under the pines, because there is a lot of construction going on and the pathway to the Ada beach is littered with builders rubbish (and even a dead rat!)

The hotel itself however is fine, with good size rooms and we were well looked after. Lovely infinity pool, a great outdoor massage under the olive tree and a sunset cocktail at the bar are a must. The staff are friendly and efficient, and always willing to help. We stayed in the Flamingo room which had a small balcony overlooking the restaurant terrace.

Unless you want to take the water taxi to busy Fethiye in the evening, you must eat either at the hotel or at the Ada Beach restaurant, a 10 min walk away at the other end of the island (owned and run by the hotel) The food is good and varied, with similar menus at both and a smiling helpful staff to serve you.

So - good food, a friendly efficient welcome, but don't expect peace and quiet!

We always try to have a weeks holiday somewhere quiet and stress free. We have never quite achieved it in the past but ECE not only achieved it but exceeded it. The whole experience from the telephone booking system at Exclusive Escapes, the flight from the jet terminal at Stansted and the hotel was perfect. Handan, her husband and the entire staff treated us like members of the family. Nothing is too much trouble and always a genuine friendly smile not the tourist " Have a nice day" smile.
Dont go here for the night clubs, tv and internet. Go for the tranquility, excellent food and good company.

We arrived late on October 21st but the boat trip to the island was so lovely and exciting and from the moment we arrived at Ece we felt at home especially when lovely Osman said the bar was always open!
We loved our spacious room and when we woke next morning the view from our room was incredible and the evening sunsets were amazing! We particularly liked the tea/coffee making facilities in the room which is unusual in Turkey.
The buffet breakfast was lovely every day; freshly squeezed orange juice, cereal, fresh and dried fruits with a variety of cheeses. pancakes, cheesy bread, spicy sausage and eggs cooked to order with good coffee or tea set us up for our lovely chilled day beautifully.
We went to Fethiye on the complimentary boat service, for a traditional Turkish bath, on the first morning which we all enjoyed
We were on holiday with our daughters aged 28 and 30 who both loved the Ece experience. They both have their Padi dive certificate and lovely Jasmin, our Exclusive Escapes representative, arranged for them to go diving with a local company from Fethiye and although they hadn't dived for about 10 years they really enjoyed the experience and everything quickly came back to them.
Our complimentary gulet boat trip was exceptional and the food delicious.
We ate in the hotel restaurant every night and the food lived up to our expectations - our compliments to the chef. Wonderful homemade olive bread was served every night. The set menu was good value and we were able to share the mezes as they were very substantial and please try the local Turkish Doluca wines which are very good
Handan, the hotel owner, was always quietly in the background and Osman and his team looked after us very well - hats off to them they were always there to help or serve.
Hayder the masseuse/chiropractor was available most days and I would recommend him - he is very knowledgable and I personally felt wonderful after my treatment.
Ece proved to be a fabulous place to chill and recharge our batteries - there was always a quiet place to sit in the sun or shade but our week there slipped by very quickly hence we have booked to go again next May - I can't wait!
Few tips;
Ece has an extensive library of holiday reads.
The resident large bouncy pooch is lovely and is always happy to go for a walk but will kill the local chickens so needs to be on a lead at all times!
A canoe and 2 kayaks are available to go round the island but best done by 11am as the sea becomes more choppy after this although our elder daughter did kayak at other times and she also swam round the island a couple or times.
If you fancy some hard exercise whilst there run up and down the hill from the beach a few times and you will achieve this!
We saw a few wild tortoises near Ece and were lucky enough to see a turtle when we were on the boat going to Fethiye - sadly we never saw any dolphins.
Thank you to all concerned for making our holiday so memorable.
