Stayed here for 10 days in July. Famly with 2 teen daughters. Rooms were adequate with good free air con. Very clean and regular linen changes. Staff were great and the girl on reception was very keen to assist with information about the area. The pool was a decent size for the hotel but there wasn't much room around the sunbeds and there was the usual dropping of towels to possess the sunbeds which made it difficult to find one later in the day. We chose the Area hotel's pool just up the road which was much more spacious. Mostly german guests so lacked a little atmosphere as the world cup was on and not of much interest to us! All in all a good hotel for the money with caring staff.
Could do with some hooks in the bedrooms.

Room Tip: Rooms 112 and 115 had seaviews and large balconies. Our rooms 113 and 114 were fine but very small b...

We stayed at this hotel in June for 10 nights. Myself, husband and my 16 year old grandaughter.
We stayed in a family room which was very basic, 1 bedroom with one wardrobeand chest of
drawers. In the other room was 2 single beds and the base of the beds were not very cleaniand the windows were in need of repair. There was no choice for the main course but was always
edible and the salad bar was very good, and only one choice for sweet.
The rooms cleaned daily, but towels not change daily which is what we are used to.
Staff very friendly. The room we had on the last day so we could shower was very nice and wish
that we had a room in that part of the hotel. The staff said that the part we were in wasn,t very nice. Apart from that we had a very good holiday and staff lovely.

We stayed in the Gunes hotel at the start of June this year. It is typically Turkish in that the rooms are not very large and the bathrooms are compact too! We had everything we needed but there were a few plumbing issues that had obviously been going on for a long time. The leaks from under the shower base were lethal and soaked the floor so that it was like a skating rink. We had to ask the cleaner for four bath mats every day to mop up after showering. She just shrugged and smiled in that " I know" fashion! The pillows were rock hard and the bedding had seen much better days. The food was OK- normal Turkish breakfasts and in the evening they had delicious mezes and freshly cooked dishes which altered each day. There was some fresh fruit and puddings if you wished them. There is a smallish pool and ample sun loungers. The bar is run by a fellow who is addicted to "Stairway to heaven" by Led Zeppelin and a couple of Turkish numbers which I have ingrained in my brain. Can you change the record please??!! The reception staff were helpful and even came to say goodbye when we left. They have long hours and work hard to keep things in order. Would we go back? Maybe...

Room Tip: If you want a peaceful night's sleep ask for a room away from the bar

My friend and I went here at the becoming of May didn't expect much for the price we paid. We were pleasantly surprised. Although rooms were basic they were spotless, it was fairly quite which we didn't mind because we wanted to chill. Food was OK but repetitive. We met a great bunch of people and had a good laugh. Used the dolomus (minibuses) they were great and really cheap water taxi to Fethiye was great. Would recommend this hotel if you want a chill holiday. We would definitely comeback especially if we got another good deal

We stayed here with our 14 month old at the beginning of May 2014. The Gunes is a small budget hotel, but cleanliness and service are second to none. The room was quite small but very adequate, we had a very sturdy cot for the little one with a good quality mattress. Furnishings were basic but not outdated and the room was kept very clean with a visit from the cleaner every day. Although we were the only family staying there at the time, and probably the youngest guests by a good 25 years, we were made to feel very welcome by staff and fellow guests alike, with our pushchair handily stored for us downstairs in reception and a highchair set out for us every day at breakfast and dinner. The staff particularly spoiled our little boy with attention and were always making him giggle. The food was traditionally Turkish, which we prefer as we were of course in Turkey, always freshly made and very tasty, with lots of choice of salads and cold sides. The restaurant manager in particular was wonderful, his level of customer service was very evident by the many hugs and handshakes he got from departing guests; he certainly made us feel very special. The pool was a decent size, although cold at this time of year, but spotlessly clean and with plenty of sunbeds. The hotel backs right onto the beachfront promenade. The beach itself is quite breezy and narrow and with quite a choppy sea, but we spent hours happily sat there sunbathing and making sandcastles. There is a very reasonably priced little shop next door for water and snacks, and the dolmus picks up right outside reception for trips into Fethiye and beyond. The only thing that stopped me giving 5 stars was that we had arranged with the receptionist, through the English speaking restaurant manager, to keep our room until 5pm on our last day as our transfer wasn't collecting us until 7pm. As we were leaving our room at 4.30 she tried to get us to pay a £25 charge for staying in the room past 12.30pm. We politely refused and even though she only spoke German and conveniently couldn't understand me reminding her of our previous conversation, she accepted our refusal, and we were later backed up by the restaurant manager when he arrived on shift. A shame, but still nevertheless handled politely, and the rest of our week was not spoiled by this blip at the last minute.

Just returned form a 7 day tour along the Lycian Coast. We stayed in a lot of different hotels which were all very good but this hotel surpassed them all. It was not too large a hotel, food was excellent, was very clean, staff were very friendly and a great location on the beach with great views. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms have a great view.
