“nice hotel”
Reviewed 12 August 2012

just returned from 10 nights at the malhun, hotel very clean, rooms good with seaview and serviced daily, food although not a massive choice was always good especially the mixed grill (barbecue).
staff friendly and very hardworking.pool nice and could always get bed or table near pool although they have an annexe behind which has another nice pool and bar.
not many english guests as hotel appears to cater more for germans.russians and turkish but this was no problem at all as all guests friendly and sadly most other nationalities more respectful than a certain percentage of brits. hotel in great position on beach (not sandy) which is clean and sea good, also away from main buzz of seafront so quieter.only fault was lights round pool turned off at 10.30 when all inc ended and was put into adjacent hotel next door on 1st night due to booking mix up but was sorted by manager next day although i don't think we were the only guests this happened too.
all in all would return to this hotel and calis beach is a great spot (our 2nd visit).
would also recommend booking jeep safari with focus tours on sea front (£12 each) great fun (but very wet due to water fights etc)

Room Tip: rooms towards front get better views and get down for dinner around 7.30 to get table outside.

We stayed in this hotel in first ten days of August 2012. Temperature was very high, which is usual in this time of the year - during the day over 40°C and early in the morning not under 30°C. Humidity is very high so it is not pleasent at all.
Hotel is clean and quiet. Room was small, bathroom too. Restaurant is in the main building and it's hot and stuffy. There are some tables outside by the pool, and there is more pleasant to eat (if you can find place). Food is not very good. For breakfast you can have eggs, two types of bread, artifical honey (!), margarine, chees, yogurt, cofee, tea, some strange salami, and so on (always the same). For dinner there is one main meal (chicken breasts, some meal of minced meat, potatoes etc.) and many types of salads. Salads are mainly without any taste (there are few exceptions). Generaly food is tasteless.

Beach is near, covered with gravel. Wind is almost always blowing, so waves are sometimes high. Wind is blowing from sea, so there is some grass in the water floating, it's dirty and water is not very clear. However, beach is clean and there is no any garbage in water. There is no natural shade so during the day it's very hot. Water is hot and very pleasent. Sun is very strong - beware of burnings.

We stayed for 4 days in July 2012. It was really better than our expectations. Rooms were very clean, and food was very good ( but not to many kinds). There are 2 different buildings. I had stayed in the front building by the seaside. All good. My friends stayed in the other building ( back side) it was good too. Two of them have pools. Pools were not too big but as the hotel is nearby the sea, you do not need swimming in the pool. The sea is getting deep soon, no need to swim far away for deep water, that's why it may be a bit dangerous for very little children but it was very nice swimming in such a warm and clean sea.The sunset view was great. There was a long walk way infront of the hotel along the beach. The centre of Fethiye was a bit far if you try to walk, you'd better use vehicle ( just 10 min.), but to be honest we did not need to visit centre oftenly. One day we had a tour to KAs, Kalkan, Patara. We paid just 300 TL in total with a private van ( 7 persons) to Kas. It is 107 km from Fethiye to Kas. There were lots of beautiful places to visit during the tour. Kaputas Beach ws fantastic !!! We liked it very much. Also you may go to Saklikent, Tlos, just half an hour by car , but any another day. Saklikent is a place that must seen, don't hesitate.

We have stayed at Malhun hotel twice. First time we stayed in the annexe behind the hotel and this time we stayed in the main building. The hotel is situated at the “quiet” end of the promenade.
Both at the annexe and at the main building there is a swimming pool. And at the seafront a nice bar with a great view to the sea and a fantastic sunset. The drinks menu is very sparse and cocktails are rather expensive.

Dinners were a wide range of traditional Turkish dishes. And several different dishes daily. Everything well prepared and very delicious.

The rooms are nice and everything was functioning well. Beds and furniture was alright. The beds were made and the rooms were cleaned daily. And every day we got new towels. Free air-conditioning in the rooms. In the main building, sea view from the balcony.

Staff was always very kind and helpful.

In the main building there is a lift. Free Wi-Fi in the main building and also a small internet-café close to the reception. Wi-Fi is working very well at the reception area, but the coverage is rather poor at the restaurant and the floors with the rooms.

This was our sixth trip to Calis beach and we have stayed in three different hotels. And next time we will definitely choose Malhun hotel again.

I can not believe some of the bad write ups this hotel has had. I have stayed in the Malhun on several occasions, and have had nothing but greats stays. The staff are great and can not do enough for you - nothing is too much trouble. the rooms are all newly re decorated and are always kept clean. If you are looking for luxury then this hotel is not on those lines, but a great economy hotel, with most of thew added extras.
The food is typical Turkish fare, but then there are dozens of restraunts around. At the Malhun you can go BB,HB or AI so plenty of choices. The hotel has two nice pools, and a super bar on the promanade to enjoy a drink or meal and even watch a great sunset.
Go soon before tourism spoils a beautiful spot

Room Tip: Book into the Malhun one and ask for a front facing room on the second floor the sunsets are particu...

We booked this hotel for 2 nights as an extra, our main 2 weeks were staying in the Turquoise Hotel in Olu Deniz (This other 3 star hotel, was a palace in comparison to The Malhun). Before going we had decided to stay for a couple of nights in Calis Beach and booked this hotel online, unable to find many reviews. We travelled by dolmus and water ferry from Fetihiye. Yes the weather wasn't good(the worse storm and flood the area had known for 20 years was coming..)but this hotel despite being on a beach front location (the quieter end of Calis Beach)was plain miserable!!
The room (and hotel) was dreadfully dated and worn THROUGHOUT, stunk of cigarettes and the only thing that had been updated since it was built years ago was the bathroom. The balcony was unsafe. Despite this large hotel only having a few rooms taken, we were allocated a rear/side view and not a coastal view. We were in a large 2 bedroomed room however they failed to supply a second bed for our sons until we asked.
The few staff who we saw at this hotel did not speak more than a couple of words of english. The atmosphere here was non existant. We only noticed German guests staying at this hotel and therefore the food was completely for German tastes. Sausage casserole, rice and vegetables was the only dish I could stomach with bread. Breakfast was vaguely better, they fried eggs for you!!
We chose to only stay one night here as we had the option to return to our paradise in Olu Deniz and it was pouring with rain the next morning, so unfortunately we never saw this resort in the sunshine, but we much preferred Olu Deniz for a good Turkish family beach resort.

We stayed at the Malhun in Sept for one week and payed £130 for two adults B & B.Very cheap £65 each for a three star hotel. This included A/C.On arrival Sat night we were put in the annexe accross the road (they did try to put us in a transit room but we refused). We were told we would be moved the next day.Next day was told the following day which we accepted as we were in a lovely room. When talking to one of the locals they explained it was Ramadam and one the busy times of year.He said not to be rude to the managers as they would do everthing to help us.He was so right.Next day my husband wasnt to bothered about moving as our room was bright spotless clean and a nice view overlooking our pool. Also SO SO quiet.Even a 9 in the morning nobody about. We went to look at the room on offer after breakfast and decieded to stay put.We also hired a fridge for the room and a safe in the room.On departing we were not charged for any also made a couple of phone calls not charged either.I think this is because we were put in the annexe accross the road the only thing is we didnt have a sea view but we had a lovely room which had towels changed daily beds every other day.Rooms cleaned daily.Spotless clean .Bathroom everthing worked and was quite new.Only downside if pickey it had a carpet why? It was stained not dirty but stains. Not everyone is careful on holiday and accidents happen.Cant understand why they just dont have tiles like everywhere else.Staff fantastic so friendly.Did thank them many times for doing things for us.Think that goes a long way instead of seeing downsides.Calis beach is one of the nicest places we have visited.Unspolit , clean. No English bars which was great.Turkish people very nice not much hassle at bars etc!We went to Icmeler in June really enjoyed there but to touristy and hassle unbelivable. When people moan about wether hotel 3 stars think wahat we are paying. In England we would be lucky to get one night for what we payed one week. All in all fab holiday. We are back in June2010 but have found a selfcatering we are going to book as we get fed up dining out every night.Best thing about Calis Beach the breeze that arrives at lunch and stays thoughout the afternoon.Beautiful
