Great hotel with very nice and friendly family. The rooms were cleaned dayily and was like they were never used before. Fabulous breakfasts including homemade marmelades in different sorts. The hotel also include a couple of bicycles for free which is great because there is a couple of kilometers to the town centre. If we ever coming back to Turkey we will definately return to Hotel Arion.

Room Tip: Suits is recommended for better space

Four of us stayed here in September and we loved it. Great family welcome, spotlessly clean, good food and brilliant lunches (they don't advertise them but they are happy to make them, even asking you what you want to eat). The pool was great and the sunbeds and comfy cushions just what was needed.

We used their bikes for the 4 minute ride in to town - a bit rickety but did the job.
We would go again and anyone thinking of staying there alone will be made very welcome.

Room Tip: try and get one of the suites

Family owned hotel. This was our third visit and just as enjoyable as the other two. We were made to feel part of the family and enjoyed a pleasant swim in the pool and excellent Turkish breakfast after our one night stay. Will no doubt go again. Convenient for Dalaman airport too.

Room Tip: Suites are very good. Double rooms a bit small but only used for sleeping so not too much problem.

My spouse and I stayed at Arion Hotel between 11 – 16 of August.

Rooms: They have 3 types of rooms and we stayed at the room called Asos, a room facing the pool in the upper floor. The room is clean, neat but extremely tiny. There is almost no place to move in the room. If you went there with 2 suitcases, you will not be able to walk in the room anymore; you’ll have to jump over things. Needless to say, the built-in wardrobe is also very small. I had to hang my dresses on the curtain rod !

When I mentioned that our room is too small, the young guy at the reception showed me “normal standard rooms” as they call them. Nevertheless we didn’t go for these rooms as they are slightly bigger but still very small; it wasn’t worth to go through all that hassle to change rooms. Suit rooms have enough place but there are only a few of them. Most of the rooms have two single beds, so make sure you are well informed about the size of the room and the type of the bed you will get before you book.

Another reason why we were not very impressed with the room is that you can hear people in the room next door. My sister and mother who stayed in the other room had the same problem. The sound isolation is not very good.

Location: The hotel is a good 10 – 15 minutes walking distance from the center. You can walk or use the bikes of the hotel free of charge.

The facility and the environment: The hotel is recently built and overall neat. The garden is very nice. There is no private parking should you travel with your car but they let you park on the street. There is free wi-fi which didn’t work in the first two days of our stay and in the last 3 days it started working.
The towels in the room are cheap, hard, bad quality towels. They were renewed only once during our stay. There was no face towel in the bathroom. There was only soap at the side of the washbowl; there were no shower gel and no shampoo at the shower.

Service: The prices include breakfast. The breakfast buffet is nothing special; no added value there. The breakfast buffet includes: 3 types of (tasteless) cheese, 3 – 4 types of jam, butter, bread, Turkish roll breads, olives, tomato – cucumber – pepper combo (traditional Turkish), 3 types of fruit (grapes, watermelon, melon, figs etc), and something extra they bring on the buffet everyday (like: potato salad, fried dough, pastry stuff – something that will not cost them very much). There is also tea. There is no water or coffee provided. Having stayed in low budget hostels to expensive hotels around the world, it surprised me not to see water, a basic human need, at the breakfast buffet.

Attitude of the personnel: At the time of our departure, the old guy ay the reception (one of the owners) asked me if I enjoyed my stay, and I told him that the room is too tiny. Instead of saying “I regret it was not possible to upgrade your room to the suit room, and I am sorry if the room you had did not meet your expectations” or something in a friendly tone, he said “well, then you should have booked a suit room instead” in a rather not so friendly tone.

At this time I also mentioned that they can serve water at the breakfast buffet; it’d be really welcome. Instead of saying something like “oh, if you had let me know, I would have taken care of it”; he basically told me no hotel at this price range provides water and it’d be not affordable for him to do that. He implied that if I look for such stuff I should stay at places with a higher price range. To have this kind of a needless discussion for something so cheap as water is really the bottom line for our family; we do not appreciate this kind of approach to customers’ opinions.

The young guy at the reception is friendly enough. He is welcoming and informative. I think he better takes up the management and talks to the customers instead of that old guy if they want to improve stuff.

Conclusion: I definitely do not recommend the standard / normal rooms. I would only recommend this hotel if there is no other place available in Göcek: the price/quality needs to be significantly improved considering the fact that this hotel is called a “boutique hotel”. What we rather found was a place run with a mentality of a guest house and which does not provide a full service kind of accommodation you’d expect to get from a boutique hotel. Seen the fact that it is also located further away in comparison to the other hotels in Göcek, I see no point in returning there.

Room Tip: I definitely do not recommend the standard / normal rooms; too tiny. If you have to stay at this hot...

What a fabulous hotel - we stayed here for a week as a family of 3, and fell in love with the place! This small family run hotel is a 15min walk into town, and is immaculate. The family were so kind and welcoming, we shared breakfast and dinner with them on a couple of occasions and were amazed by the quality of the food and their attentiveness. We had standard rooms which were more than adequate and furnished to a high spec, with balcony either overlooking the garden or mountains. There were also free bikes for the more adventurous! The pool area was great, with modern sun loungers and umbrellas, as well as cushions and seating in the shade. Everything was maintained to a high standard - the hotel has been open for 6 years however looked brand new! It was so lovely to get to know the family who run this gorgeous hotel - thank you so much Yeter, Halil, Uras, Fatma, Cemal and Caglar!

Unfortunate that Turkey is getting bad press right now but the discontent in Istanbul is far, far away from this beautiful quiet hotel oasis in gorgeous Gocek. Best things about the Gocek Arion are the lovely people who run it and the garden they have lovingly tended. The rooms, suites really, are spotless and mattresses the best plus they have added interior design details that give the rooms a genuinely Turkish feel. The pool is sparkling, the lobby is comfy and the rates are excellent. Ask them to tell you about the wonderful public beach that is only a short drive away!
