“A great experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2014 via mobile

Omers is a good place to treat yourself. The food stands out and screams of quality. Everything tastes lovely and the surroundings are beautiful. The food is freshly prepared and served, therefore service is slower then else where. However, this place is not about quantity rather quality but still comfortable and welcoming.

“Long wait ...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014 via mobile

We decided to go here based in trip advisor reviews and not sure it lived up to expectations. Peaceful, tranquil setting with view over marina was lovely. We ordered a few starters and then the children (aged 8 & 10) chose to share Turkish meatballs. I chose lamb kofte and my husband had fish cakes. Our children's meal arrived and it wasn't very big .. They enjoyed it but had finished there's before ours arrived. The waiter didn't seem to notice that we were waiting & hungry. When we asked, he said a few minutes ... But it was a while. The restaurant wasn't busy and it was 10pm before our main courses arrived. They were both tasty but as we had arrived at 8.30, we were beyond hungry when they arrived and the children were tired & bored! Would perhaps try again for lunch.

“should be the number 1 restaurant in Göcek”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014

We ate dinner here twice during a four-night stay in Göcek, which says it all really! Ömer’s Café (as it is now known) simply has the best food we've ever tasted in Turkey. Turkish food is great, but restaurants generally serve the same dishes time and time again. The reason Ömer’s Café is so wonderful is because it is still good Turkish food, but with Ömer’s own twist. The results are delicious! Previously, Ömer was a renowned chef in Istanbul and has now taken his fabulous cooking to Göcek. He cooks everything to order, so while the service might be a little slower than in other restaurants, it is more than worth the wait.

Some of our favorite dishes were:
COLD MEZE: you must try the ginger, garlic and nuts paste. It doesn't sound like much, but it is amazing. The cold octopus salad, and the crumbly cheese with rakı dishes were also great.
HOT MEZE: a melty cheese dish with yummy herbs and oils, or a prawn dish.
MAINS: any sea bass dish, the 'cafe lamb' special, or the steak in hoisin sauce. Unfortunately we were too full both nights to have dessert!

Ömer’s Café's location is in D-Marin (which is towards one end of Göcek) and has beautiful views. It is actually in a more expensive-looking area of Göcek marina, but the restaurant prices are very reasonable. The prices for meze are actually cheaper here than any other restaurant we ate in, and prices for meat/fish and alcohol are comparable to other places. There are often generous daily special deals too, so you can save money that way.

Please make sure you try this restaurant, because you won't regret it!

“Delicious food every time!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2014

Having eaten in one of the more central (and more highly rated) restaurants on our first night in Gocek we then found Omer’s, in a beautiful spot overlooking the D-Marin marina, and ate there on each of the remaining three nights of our visit! The food is delicious, levels above the standard tourist fare, is freshly made with excellent, well-developed flavours and is served by very welcoming and friendly waiters.

We found prices for both food and wine to be considerably less expensive than other restaurant menus we viewed however that should only be regarded as a bonus – the reason to go is for the fabulous food in a lovely setting!

“Quaint gem in pretty marina setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2014

Our local friend sent us to one good place already, and so we asked for a second. This is where he sent us and we were again very pleased. Service was spot-on by waiter Suleiman, who was genuinely eager to please; he anticipated our needs even before we did! The chef was accommodating, as I do not eat cream and so was able to sub some delicious house-made fries fr the creamed spinach with my light and flaky seabass. The shrimp was delicious, though slightly pricey for the portion size. We loved the chicken with bacon. Omer stopped by to see how we were doing and he seems a fine fellow with loads of experience (29 years prior to opening here), and wants to ensure everything is just right. Will go back to try more!
