I have just returned from a week at Ali Baba's hotel which I found to be very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were cleaned daily and the staff were very accommodating, we were made to feel very welcome and would recommend anyone that wants an inexpensive no frills hotel to stay at Ali Baba's. Every member of staff were courteous and would go out of their way to help (even providing a phone number for you to call if you wanted some assistance getting back to the hotel had you been out) One our leaving day each member of staff (Mustafa, Ali, Hasan, Canish and our lovely cleaning lady all came out and wished us well on our travel home. being that is it a small hotel we were allowed the priveledge of the personal touches that some might not get staying at a larger hotel.....I recommend this hotel albeit basic but you get what you pay for !!!

Me and my friend have just returned from our week in Marmaris. Ali Babas is a great place to stay. It is very central, close to beach , yet a lovely place to relax after our hectic shopping trips. Yes the hotel is basic - but that is what we paid for. I loved the Turkish breakfasts. Musstaf is a brilliant cook and Hasan & Ali Baba looked after us so well. The cleaner was great too - this is a family run hotel and you are made to feel very much part of their family.

I have just spent a week in this hotel and it was grate it was clean tidy and staff (the family) was very friendly too. For a b&b it's what you would expect the breakfast is a Turkish breakfast (not to my liking) but if you want something else you have to pay. The big down side to this hotel is you can't take anything to your room that's been bought from outside the hotel witch to me is a big let down!!!!
But yep I would stay there again really good place :-)

Hey this hotel is the very first place we met our long lasting friends of 11yrs and still visit them now,,,we had problems with 1 of the hotels we had booked 1 year so we went and spoke to Ali and he gave us the top room to stay in wich is the biggest and has cooking facilities a fridge freezer great for myself husband and 3 kids although 1 of them had to sleep in with us but their does nt go past a holiday where he like to in beside his mum and dad and he is now 9yrs old lol,, Im sure this hotel is a B&B but it is a Turkish breakfast,, to be honest we are never really up early enough for breakfast and we like the bacon and eggs breaki,,Be prepared to only have a bedroom as its only B&B but it is very clean and your room gets cleaned normally daily thats if you out of bed not like my hubby who likes to lie in but i like to lie in the sun lol,, The hotel does serve food my hubby had a steak which he really enjoyed so food is of good standard,,,I dont really know about some of these reviews the picture where the curtain is missing is the room we always stay in and its always great for us .,,I do know a couple of my friends have left to start their own business but i would still recomend this hotel its very basic so take your own hair dryer and their is no kettle or cups in the rooms but it is a B&B so it should really state that when you are booking,, We ve been going to Marmaris for 11yrs and would nevr go past the Ali Baba without spending a day their the swimming pool is quite small but at least their is 1 its what you make of your holiday eh,,I hope if your reading this please have a look at the photo s im going to add cause we always visit specially after being at the thurs market as its just round the corner and if you want something livelier go accross the road to the club Can Dan ive stayed their too and thats fab

This place shouldn't be called a hotel, it stated when booking that it was "a family run hotel and this hotel is friendly, comfortable and, no doubt Ali Riza and his staff will make your stay here relaxing", this is so untrue, it was like stepping in to a nightmare, after a flight delay and a nightmare with our transfer journey, we arrived 15hrs later than we should of, but were not greeted with a hello or anything, i had to walk down steps with my heavy suitcase, yet the young Turkish lad didn't even ask if i needed a hand, we were not even shown to our rooms, we was on the third floor and 2 members of my party was told to use the stairs, the shower in our room wouldn't turn off, u had to even hold it while showering, we had one light bulb, the air con, was a con they wanted 80TL totally not worth it, we slept with balcony door open, the fire exit at the end of the corridor was locked!!!! unbelievable. we paid for bed and breakfast yet we had Turkish food pushed in front of us the next day and had to ask for English to be told we had to pay more, it was terrible, if we had eaten it i think we all would of been ill, the bar was not stocked up, we asked for drinks and was treated as if we was pains in the back sides, and they would go down stair to the kitchen to make our drinks, what is the point in having a bar if your not going to use it, it also stated in the write up that it has a LCD flat screen tv on the wall in the bar area ...........where????????? and every time we had anything it was always different prices, also a 24 hr reception, which was also untrue, every time we went out they make us leave our key behind, and whenever we came back there was never anyone there to give us our keys we had to help ourself, we thought the swimming was nice, right up to the point we decided to go back to the hotel early one day for a chill out by the pool to find one of the underwater lights in it hanging out, wires and all, so we didn't bother going in there again!!! we spent most of the holiday out of this hole and i'm very surprised it has any good reviews as this place isn't fit to be called a hotel, and there is no family based here so i don't see how it was a family run hotel, i saw a young Turkish lad that wasn't related to the owners, and a old couple in there 60s, this was my fourth holiday to Marmaris and there is some lovely places to stay in this resort but believe me this place isn't one of them, i've stayed in much better for less money and i mean less money, Ali Baba was a totall rip off!!!!!!! u couldn't even take water to your room. like someone has already said this place isn't fit for rats! please don't waste your money like we did.

Room Tip: Don't even bother wasting your money on this one, please avoid

first off i would like to say, yes there is 2 hotels called the ali baba,,,,but the one we stayed in should not be called a hotel, more like someones home and we were unwelcome guest, after a nine and half hour delay at gatwick and a three hour transfer ( that was suppose to take 1 hour 40 mins, in the bakeing sun with no water given to us) we should have been there at 2am tues, but got there at 5 25pm, i cant say that we were welcome becouse we were given are keys with NO HELLO, WELCOME,after finding are room for areself,s, they looked ok, (i always check the bedding, towels, and the bathroom are clean in every place i stay ) both looked ok, going for a shower was the start of it all, i found i had to keep the shower in one hand and wash with my other hand coz there was nowhere to hang it, then i could,nt turn the shower off, so had to get the guy in to do it, he was,nt happy, the same thing happened with my daughter, but we got a friend to turn it off, we only had one light in the room, the telephone did,nt work also, we didnt have any means to make a drink or still no water, so we went out to eat, was told we had to leave are keys there, next day we went down for breakfast (if you can call it that ) there was about 10 plates all lined up with a boiled egg , olives, peppers, bread, butter and jam on, no cover on them, the boy came over with 3 plates and plonked them on the table and walked off to get more, i asked him him who ordered them, to be told it was are breakfast, i told him we did,nt want it, i asked for english breakfast, to be told it was extra, well what can i say, cold beans, mushrooms, eggs, just dry bread, burnt bacon, raw sausage, coffee was cold too,so we left it, i told the guy but he just shrugged his sholders and walked off, so we did,nt bother with eating there again, we did,nt really spend alot of time there by day, only a few hours at the pool in the afternoon, the prices was diffrent every time we got drinks, if any of us walked back in the place with water or coke, we was told we cant drink it anywhere in the place, my friend got 4 bottles of coke and had to pour them away coz he was not allowed to take them to his room, the music was too load, the sun beds was falling apart, i didnt go in the pool, my daughter came out in a rash after the first day, very very unfriendly place to stay, we did,nt even get a good bye or a thank you when we left, but we made sure that they did,nt spoil are holiday, that was the 3rd time i have been to turkey, but it has not made me not to want to go back,,,
