My sister and brother had told me how fantastic Adakoy is but we have not been able to go because it was too expensive in school holidays until now.
We travelled the day after our daughter had finished her gcse exams on 14th June 2014.

If you can its definately worth going for 2 weeks. There is so much to do. You cant fit it all into one week.

The ataff are amazing. They work so hard to make your holiday special.

We concentrated on sailing the first week and tennis and windsurfing the second week. I tried doing the level 2 sailing, but its quite a jump from level 1 to 2.
The stretch and relax session at the end of the day is amazing. I am not very good at relaxing, but maryann had the knack. Quite a few of us nodded off in the sunshine.
She was really good at sorting out your aches and pains.

The booze and balls is such a laugh and a great way to get to know people.

It took me a week to pluck up the courage to have a go at water skiing. It looked so fast, will I hurt myself. Im glad I left it till the second week because my arms did ache afterwards. But its amazing and definately worth doing. And no u do not hurt yourself....

We hardly saw our 17 year old. She was off with the tag team. She had a fantastic time and has made loads of friends.

The spa treatments are lovely. I had a body scrub and a massage. If you purchase the spa upgrade be aware that you have to have had your treatments before the Wednesday.
They were having difficulty fiitting eveyone in. They were really good and split mine and I got the days and times I wanted.

The day beds are hard, but you can request matress toppers from reception.

Beach towells and tea making facilitate now provided free of charge.

During our second week we paid to go full board (180 lera) £60 each for just food. The food in the bisro is lovely - huge portions. If u can it is definately worh upgrading from the UK £65 each but you get 3 bottles of wine per couple.
If you buy the housewine its 47 lera a bottle nearly £ 16.

One good thing is at the inclusive afternoon and evening meals bottles of water are free.

We had room 321 which was lovely. It was on 2nd floor and overlooked the pool.
It was great. We had our own room with a door and rachel had her own little room there was no door but it was separate from us.

The only thing I would have liked was a social table at the beach club.

I am not a sporty person, but I had a fantastic time. Its up to u how much or how little you do. All the instructors are fantastic and so encouraging. I cant wait to go again.

Just returned form yet another amazing 2 weeks at the beautiful resort of Adakoy.
Under the great management of Ahmet and Alex, this resort just gets better and better.
All the staff are an absolute pleasure and make you feel really welcome. Spending time with these guys is part of our holiday - many of which we now class as friends.
As with so many of the Nielson resorts, the range of activities is fantastic. Tennis, biking, wakeboarding and sailing all have superb instructors who are always happy to help as needed.
Resul continues to serve up a fabulous array of food from breakfast to dinner with fresh fish, grilled chicken and an array of salads and deserts.
Rooms are always clean, comfortable and well maintained though we don't actually spend much time in there given the range of activities available.
Overall, It's a great place and we'll definitely be back next year....

Just returned from a fabulous stress-free week in Adakoy. Fabulous unspoilt views, eating al fresco looking out to sea. Very compact resort with all facilities within walking distance and nothing is too much trouble. All staff are friendly and go out of their way to help. Whilst not a typical activities person I did enjoy trying kayaking this time. Food was lovely Spa treatments lovely and visited Marmaris by water taxi for retail therapy and on the sunset cruise which was great. Visited Lemnos twice last year and loved it, Adakoy did not disappoint and would certainly return.

Room Tip: worth paying the extra for a sea view fabulous views whilst getting really on an evening with a drin...

Small intimate resort. Fantastic for waterskiing, great for sailing, cycling, tennis is a hoot. Boat trips and dinghy sailing all day. Food delicious, rooms comfortable. Staff lovely. This a good way to holiday if you like lots of action, buffet food and inclusive options. No, you do not have to be an expert, you can learn to waterski, sail, play tennis, windsurf, or just chill by the pool and have a drink at the bar, just sign up when you arrive at no extra cost! Can hop on the ferry to Marmaris for meals out on nights not included in club board. I went a a single traveller...they looked after me!

We had a fantastic two weeks at Adakoy and would love to come back for another two!

The trip started well with British Airways flights from Heathrow, good legroom, meals and drinks included and smiling cabin crew. The transfer from Dalaman to Adakoy was about an hour and half and then onto the Neptune Star for our boat transfer to the Island where the Adakoy resort is located. You do arrive after 10pm but at the end of your holiday you have nearly a full day in resort before you leave - so that's fair enough.

We had paid a bit extra for a room in the sea facing block and it was worth the extra pennies. We had an upstairs room and a nice balcony. The rooms are not five star but then they aren't just basic either. For the amount of time you will probably spend in the room it's probably just about right. Although the mattresses could be a little bit softer as others have noted. This didn't stop us from sleeping though, as we were too tired out from all the activities! The bathroom had a shower only but it was a good one and we had no trouble with hot water or water pressure. There was plenty of storage in the room and also an in-room safe, hairdryer and fridge.

The pool at Adakoy is really good for swimming, it doesn't have a shallow end and is about 1.45cm deep throughout. This makes touching the bottom for shorties (like me) a bit of a problem, but Neilson provided ready access to floats and noodles for any kids (or adults!) that needed them. The pool area catches the sun all day and is just a really nice place to chill out.

Both the pool bar and beach bars had excellent staff and by the end of our stay they knew our room number off by heart (am I proud or embarrassed by this?!).

There is one restaurant on site with several different seating areas (some adults only). Food is served here for breakfast and lunch and in the evenings on the 'inclusive' nights. We found the food to be excellent and you would need to be really fussy not to find something you like. On non-inclusive nights you can still eat at the restaurant where they have an 'a la carte' menu for the night. The food was pretty good on the 'a la carte' night we stayed there for, but the service was a bit hap hazard.

Getting the water taxi to Marmaris for non-inclusive nights is a must-do at least once during your stay. We ate at 'Dede' and 'Bono' restaurants and the food and drinks were excellent. Other guests also recommended 'Demir' and 'Ney' - but we didn't have enough time to try them all. Marmaris and Icemeler are where the remainder of the hotels and restaurants in the area are located (as Adakoy is totally on its own - bliss!). We took the opportunity to go on a guided bike ride along the promenade between Marmaris and Icemeler and it was a really great way to get around and see the sights.

The activities available at Adakoy are varied and there should be something for everyone to do. We had a go at stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, snorkelling, fitness classes, the spa, volleyball, water polo, aqua aerobics, cycling and tennis. Instruction was excellent and the equipment is in very good condition and is well maintained. As Adakoy is quite a small resort it makes squeezing in more and more activities easier - this is an advantage over Sivota (where we have been before), as you can literally pop from windsurfing to your room, get changed and then on to tennis in 10 minutes flat!

The Tennis coaches Ed and Brad were excellent and very patient with us beginners. Having been along to 'booze and balls' (you must do this, hilarious fun!) in the first week and getting a taste for wielding the bat we made Tennis the focus of our second week. No snootiness here, just good instruction and a lot of fun was had!

This is a great resort and the team work hard to make sure everyone is happy and all goes to plan! Alex, Naomi, Lloyd and Ed were our stand out staff of our stay - great job guys!

There were only a few niggles...

Wifi. Operates at the pool bar only and pretty much on a one-off, one-on scenario. Did stop me from being glued to my phone for two weeks, but annoying if you wanted to just download an email or two and couldn't for the life of you get connected.

Bar prices. For alcoholic, soft drinks and water the prices are all too high. I would prefer to pay a bit more up front for my holiday and see the bar prices tumble by at least a quarter! Prices in Marmaris bars were half of what Neilson were charging, and of course supermarket prices much much less. Many guests were sneaking in their off-licence purchases.

Gym. Having an indoor gym for fitness classes and using cardio and weights equipment would be great if one can be squeezed in on site somewhere!

Chill out bar. Whilst the entertainment each night was very good it would be great if there was a bar or chill out area for guests to sit and chat with a little bit of music playing and some comfy seats. Another guest suggested to us that the pool deck area could be perfect for this, with perhaps a bit of sound deflecting away from rooms?

Ahmet, Alex and Katie are running a tight ship this year at this secret island paradise. This was my fourth consecutive year and all the extra touches, from the table covers in the restaurant to the lanterns in the beach bar to the bedding plants around the club have taken it to another level. You are made to feel really welcome by the whole team who are both English and Turkish and are helpful and enthusiastic at all times. The food is fantastic and the salted fish (and even chicken this year) is a must! There are activities to suit everyone and as Neilson say 'you can relax as hard as you like'!!
