This was our second visit to the hotel. We first stayed in October 2012. This year we stayed from the 8th to the 15 th June.
CDM is in an excellent location right on the front and a short bus ride or half hour walk from the main shopping areas.
I paid for the full sea view this time as we love the view of marmaris bay. On arriving at the hotel we were shown to a side sea view on the 5th floor. Room 1513. This was a twin room not a double and was not the sea view we asked for. I immediately complained and was told there was nothing they could do until 9am when I would need to come to reception. Bearing in mind I had been up all night I was hoping for a bit of a lie in but having to get up at 9 was a bit of a pain. On my way down to reception I met a couple in the lift who had the exact same issue when tey arrived and knew of another couple who had also had the same. It seems its a scam they use. I only assume it means they can get paid twice for the sea view for one day every week. We were moved later that morning but its a real pain not being able to unpack properly until midday and settle in. It takes away a couple of hours of your holiday messing about.
Also I must say 1513 was a bit of a mess with marks on the wall and plaster. Not what we experienced previously.
The hotel is spotlessly clean throughout. Our new room with wonderful sea view was cleaned every day. Clean towels were left every day and I think the sheets were changed daily too.
They certainly were on the last night as I had a bite on my leg which was infected and left two small marks on the sheet.
The beds here are the most amazingly comfortable I have ever slept in.
The breakfast and lunch in the restaurant were the best meals. The evening was ok however we found it was best to wait until 8.15 as unless you were there at 7 you had no chance of a table. It was also a case of pick the area you sat in carefully. Some areas had excellent service whilst just a few tables away you could have been in a different hotel the service was so poor. As mentioned in another review the soups here are excellent. On the whole the food is very good quality very tasty , a little repetitive but good, I would like more of the Turkish kebab or fish and less stews.
The pool is clean and tidy but getting a sunbed was a chore unless you went early. However 30secs walk if that from the hotel was a private beach which was great and had a waiter service., which was all included.
We avoided the jewellery shop in the hotel. A couple we met last year had a really bad experience there. We found a superb shop in the bazaar on our first visit 3 years ago and always return there.
I booked two holidays to CDM this year and will be going back in August. It will be even busier then so it will be interesting to see how things change.
I still recommend the hotel but not quite as enthusiastically as I did 8 moths ago.
