“Excellent family run apartments and really great value”
Reviewed 18 May 2014

We have recently returned from one week at Club Ako and did not want to leave!

We arrived at around 7pm and were met by Jez who took our cases right to our room. We had booked a studio but were upgraded to an apartment for free (cannot ask for better than that!!). We hit the bar immediately and were introduced to all members of staff, who incidentally are the friendliest we have ever met on holiday. In fact the staff cannot do enough for you - from going to the shop, sitting chatting with you, making great food and cocktails (although they need some training on French Martinis and a good gin with cucumber ha ha). The cleaning staff were in every day to clean and bring flowers. They even scattered petals over our bed, which was a really nice touch. The food is great and we ate there most days. The rooms are basic but really nice and very clean. Don't listen to any negative reviews about Club Ako - its not five star but when you stay in establishments like that (five star) the staff don't even know your name, never mind head to the shops for you! We will definitely be returning as soon as we can - big thanks to Jez, Mehmet, his wife (and cute little daughter) all the staff and Marco the taxi man who took us everywhere and picked us up especially when we were a little worse for wear lol

Club Ako - see you all soon, Nikki & Mark xxx

Just got back yesterday, had a lovely holiday you cant fault the staff from Jez the manager to the lovely cleaning ladies, no it is not 5 star but you are not paying those prices. We had asked for a ground floor apartment but on the Friday we arrived they were going flat out re- vamping the ground floor rooms, on the Tuesday we were moved to 111 all we had to do was put or things back in there cases and then Jez and Spike took them down to the new room.I hope that we will be going back in September because i am sure it will be like going back to a family.

Room Tip: all of the rooms seems to be great,I did not see the studio`s but if they are l.ike the 1 bed apt. t...

My wife and i stayed at club ako on our first trip to turkey and we cant wait to go back.
We were greeted by jez when we arrived early hours in the morning, he took our bags to our room and showed us around which we dont normally get in big chain hotels.
Room was a 1 bed apartment and was good in size and very clean, it did get very cold at night but it was early season and we would enjoy it being that cold when weather was really hot in the summer. The room is basic but everything we needed.

We eat breakfast most mornings at the hotel and had dinner twice and it was lovely. The prices were reasonable too. The pool is a good size for size of hotel with plenty of loungers and lovely bar beside if you need a drink.

We found the staff to be very friendly, nothing was a problem for them. They would try to help no matter what including running down the shop to get my wife cigarettes. Mehmet the owner is a nice man who runs the hotel well, he is very welcoming and we will stay friends. His wife who works on reception is a lovely lady who is always helpful and always smiling. There daughter is gorgeous and kept my wife busy playing. Jez who works on the bar is a diamond, he is great banter and makes your stay worth while. The maid made was also lovely cleaning our room everyday, she didnt need to as i cleaned every morning myself which she loved.
To sum it up this is a small family run hotel who will make you feel at home for a cheap price. If your willing to mingle with other guests and hotel staff then you will have a great time and have a great laugh like we did. We will go back for sure.

The hotel is quite close to the Marina, however we found it a little too far from where we like to visit.

We arrived very late at night. We were greeted by a friendly member of staff. Unfortunately we didn't catch his name, but he has tattoos on his arms. He helped us in with our luggage. There were 2 members of staff (both male) on front desk. When we provided them with our passports and booking reference they seemed confused. They had worried expressions and were speaking amongst themselves in Turkish and looking us up and down. This worried us slightly as we didn't know what was going on. We were quizzed on when we booked and asked if we had changed our details at any point. Eventually we were taken to our room on the next floor just off the stairs.

The room was nice. It had a Living/Dining area and the kitchen as we went in. Plenty of cupboard space. A separate bedroom with two twin beds, a dressing table and a drawer. And a bathroom. So overall a nice big space. The living area had a pull out sofa bed and a tv. The Table had enough seating for 4. The kitchen had a fridge, kettle and two portable hobs. The extractor fan above the hobs didn't work and the smoke alarm had been pulled out so not very safe. The was some damage to the work surface that had been filled in. Our balcony was overlooking a families garden and house at the back, with a large tree outside. The sun didn't really hit our room, so it was often very cold, especially at night. We were provided with extra blankets and pillows though so can't complain much. The bathroom was very basic. The shower was always luke warm, or cold at any time of the day. The plug didn't work very well and the angle of the shower meant that the floor sometimes got wet. There was no plug for the sink in the bathroom or the kitchen.

The pool was a very good size with a bar situated next to it and plenty of sunloungers and seating. They had music playing during the day, but other than that there wasn't much of an atmosphere.

The lady receptionist, with the little girl, was lovely and very polite. But other than her and the man who greeted us, we found the other staff to be very distant and at times rude. I have no clue who Mehmet was as we were never introduced to any of the staff. There was often a lot of bickering amongst themselves.

We weren't told about any of the facilities that were available in the main part of the hotel downstairs i.e toilets, shower room, tv room.

The maid did visit our room daily and it was kept fairly clean. However, we were only provided with a new toilet roll AFTER we had been out and bought a replacement ourselves.

We didn't try the food at the hotel as we like exploring whilst we are away, and it was a little bit too far to eat THEN go for a walk. We didn't see anyone else eating there either so wasn't sure what there was to offer. As there wasn't anything really going on at the hotel we just used it as a base really. There also wasn't that much close to the hotel or on the way to the marina.

Whilst we were there, they did a bit of work to the hotel. Which involved a lot of noise e.g. drilling into walls and hammering! It would have been nice to have been warned of this before hand.

Good basic accommodation for what we paid. But after reading all the good reviews, would have expected more. Especially from certain members of staff, as many say they can't do enough for you....where we found they didn't really do anything for you!

When we asked for the Wifi code, we were asked to pay by a young guy with longish spikey hair. We managed to get around that though. After a couple of days though, the wifi we were connected to suddenly disappeared and we had to ask again. This time the lady on reception put it in for me, no questions asked. The lady receptionist was also very helpful when our transfer was late and even phoned them to check when we were getting picked up.

Room Tip: Don't book a studio as they are at the very top and look really small. Don't book here if yo...

just back from 2 weeks at club ako and looking forward to going back. This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. have been to marmaris a few times and stayed in bigger hotels where your lucky to know the name of the receptionist.. from the moment you walk in to club ako you are welcome by everyone bags are taken to your room then you are provide with milk and water for your first cup of tea or coffee. Its in a quiet street just a few mins walk into town I met the chef and food was great. Rooms were spotless and cleaned every other day on the 3 day the cleaner brought flowers up to the room They were lovely i went on my own for the first time ever and met so many people. Nothing was too much trouble for all the staff. have to thank jez, Mehmet and all the staff who made my stay there so good.
