we have been to club anastasia fore the last 4 years and we love it we did notice a difference the last time because thomas cooks are with firstchoice now and we dont think its the same they have made it more family orientated. the holiday reps were rubish not the same as firstchoice reps. we are looking too go back this year .

We booked to go to Club Anastasia for 1 week self catering during the Easter holidays. The hotel was very quiet, as was Marmaris generally as it is quite early in the season. Rooms were clean and comfortable although limited kitchen equipment so be prepared to eat out. Maids came in daily and towels changed every couple of days. As many of the local restaurants were closed, we chose to upgrade to Half board in the hotel which meant we ate Breakfast and Dinner at the Bella Blu - (good value for money). The food and service was excellent, always freshly cooked (overseen by Jack (Daniel Craig) who did everything to keep the service at 100%. The staff in restaurant/bars are really what makes this place and we were extremely well looked after by Mustafa, Yetis, Ibrahim, Serdar, Allaitin, Yakup, Spikey and all the other guys/girls.

Weather was perfect - not too hot and just right for laying by the pool. CA has a card system that you put money on and any drinks/food orderde is deducted from the card. This didn't cause too much of a problem but dont put too much money onto it near the end of your holiday as they do not refund the balance!!! They operated a happy hour - Orange Bar 7-9pm and then 9-10pm in the Havana (pool bar) - again great value for money.

The hotel is centrally located approx 15-20 mins to beach & harbour - not that the beach looked too inviting (dirty/earthy sand!) but the hotel pool area was fine for us.

We were caught up with the volcanic ash cloud and therefore we had an extra 5 days at Club Anastasia but we were really well looked after by the staff and Thomas Cook (although we did feel we knew more than the rep just by watching BBC World news at times!!).

Overall, we had a great (extended) holiday - I would recommend it but I wouldn't go back there in high season as it feel it may be a bit manic as it is quite small - this is not a negative just personal preference but we have booked to go back to Turkey in August just because the people/hotels are so good.

We booked for 1 week and the hotel was only in its 2nd week of the season. The hotel is in a good location - about 20 min walk to all the nightlife and centre of Marmaris, but in a peaceful area.
We booked for self catering, but they do a half board upgrade option which you cn do for various terms , 3, 5, 7, 10, 14 days - this is very cheap and the food is VERY good - choice of breakfast incl full english and a 5 course evening meal with various choices (although after a week we got bored of it). The food quality was excellent. Our room overloked the pool and was very clean and modern. Beds were very hard though and uncomfortable. Room had seperate kitchen/lounge area with balcony and bedroom. Bathroom had bath with excellent shower. We didnt cook, but room had basics for cooking with 2 electric rings.
There is a flat screen TV with a few english channels on (sometimes BBC1 and ITV worked, but not always!!) - No tv in bedroom though, so we were pleased we took portable DVD player with us.
Pool was lovely, but very cold! Lots of suneds available, but it was early season. There is a kids pool, but oddly it is deeper than the adult pool!! Also a games room with chargable pool, internet, air hockey, fussball etc.
There was a pool bar and also the Orange Bar which was upstairs and very funky. They have buy one get one free cocktails in Orange Bar every night from 7-9pm, then in Havana (Pool) Bar from 9-10. The staff are great fun especially some of the bar staff, eg: Mustafa & Jacob.
The bars don't accept cash - there is a club card system - top it up at reception with as little or as much as you want then use the card to pay. (make sure you spend it all though- they dont refund it if an left when you go home)
TOP TIP: Buy phone card from shop next to hotel - 5 lira (approx £2) for 50 mins to uk as opposed to £8 for equivalent from Rep.
The day before we were due to fly home to Stansted was when the volcanic ash cloud happened and we ended up there for an extra 8 days.
Unfortunately our rep was awful - she was no help in this stuation and just kept saying "I'm here for you guys" - she wasn't - she was hopeless. We could have got home 3 days earlier, but she sold us a trip to Rhodes saying there was no chance of us going home that day so we may as well. Needless to say, there WAS a flight and we COULD have gone home, but didt find out till the next day wen the receptionist told us - AFTER we had asked the rep that morning if there was any news and she said no!!!!!! We were so upset and furious - she just kept aying"Don't worry. We'll get you home" - Yes, we knew that, but WHEN....!!
In the last few days we couldnt leave the hotel without telling the rep (even when we went to the shop next door) just in case we missed a call for a flight as they were very short notice when announced.
Anyway after several phone calls directly to Thomas Cook's office in Marmaris, we got on a Gatwick flight on the Satuday
Thomas Cook on the whole were good and we were very lucky as they arranged for us to stay in our room in the hotel and also paid for our meals (for the first few days it was ticketed for the half board menu, but then when it dragged on, we ended up with an all inclusive style buffet which nobody liked very much). The only thing was lack of communication and also the rep. The hotel was lovely and we would certainly consider going there again and recommend it to anyone.

Just returned from Club Anastasia after a great week’s holiday with family (aged 11 & 13). Receptionist asked me to post my comments on TA (might explain high number of comments) so here goes…

The hotel location is 15 mins walk from the beach, maybe 20 to the harbour, situated on the edge of the concrete metropolis that is Mararis. The resort has a lot to offer not tranquillity though. So consequently it is one of the quieter hotels but still “enjoys” bars/clubs in the locality. It is on a main road and I mention the last two facts as it did effect our ability to sleep well at night…as I say it could be worse! The hotel bars close at a reasonable hour so at least the CA residents don’t disturb you too much.

The rooms are fine, great for two, maybe tight for four people. Bathrooms are fine (no toiletries provided), the bedrooms are nice, the living room/kitchen are fine and enjoy a nice balcony (either overlooking the pool or the main road) either way it is fine. I would recommend a room on a higher of the four floors of accommodation as they are more private. Cooking facilities are simple but if you’re not planning a 3 course meal then absolutely fine. The rooms have a small TV with a good selection of English speaking channels, rooms also have a telephone and a safe (approx. 30 TL per week). Housekeeping was fine with daily visits and towel/sheet changes twice a week. If you go you will enjoy the spectacular “bed art” accomplished by using the towels, sheets and flower petals very pretty but an old cynic like me would say a tip request. CA has a lift in the main block of accommodation.

The reception area is nice. Don’t be afraid to ask if you need any help as we found them to be very accommodating. Checking in and out couldn’t have been easier. They provided us with a comunal room on last day to keep luggage safe before departure.

There is a small supermarket on site stocking the necessities and open until 1am so if you arrive late and need milk, etc…

The pool area is very nice. Well organised with plenty of sun loungers, a bar/café, kiddies club (very good), games room with internet access. The main pool is nice but no shallow end, there is a lovely small toddler’s pool with a sun cover and a small intermediate pool which I didn’t see the point in, would be better to have extended the main pool to include a shallow end. Only down side was having to walk through various sales staff every time you went to the pool (they weren’t too intrusive) and the loud dance music being played during the day. Do bear in mind the resort/hotel attracts people in their early twenty’s as well as families and you can’t please everyone.

Food wise we went half-board…very reasonable £10 ppp day (less for kids) for breakfast and dinner. The breakfast menu offers a wide choice, inc. a decent English breakfast, the only omission was no fresh fruit, very nice though. At dinner you’re offered a five course meal, which most people found too much just opting for two or three courses. Mains include local dishes lamb, kebabs, etc also steak, fish, chicken, pizza and pasta, etc plenty of choice. The waiters were all fantastic you will make friends with all of them. In fact all of the staff were very good, sometimes too attentive, occasionally, in the bars, sidetracked by pretty young girls and not attentive enough.

There are two bars, one air conditioned and open to the public and one by the pool both have TV’s showing sport, etc. Prices are average for the area and had happy hours until 10pm…very good value.

Sorry about the long winded review but I wanted to give as much info as I could, the holiday company’s details are scant at best. If I have sounded negative I didn’t mean to the overall experience was very good and I would recommend the hotel if not the resort, each to their own though.

Don't listen to any of the bad reviews, people obviously are being too picky! Have been to the Anastasia 6 times now and going back for the 7th in September. The lads are all amazing and we have met life-long friends. Some of the Havana boys aren't going to be working there this year so it won't be the same without them. The boys can't do enough for you. The hotel is very clean, no problems whatsoever. Bella Blu serves fantastic food, we always stay HB as the food is so good. Ignore the bad reviews, you'll have a great time!
