    When we arrived we got changed to a different hotel due to over booking which at 4am is the last thing we wanted, but after 3 days complaining we got back into this hotel, the weird thing is this happened to lot of other people while we were there (October) but when they complained they the people at the hotel found a room??? anyway the staff were very friendly and fun the hotel was very clean and the beds were changed everyday during our 2 week stay, the only down point was the food was repetitive but it was still very nice food and for what we paid for the whole holiday we cant complain we will definitely be back again this year to this hotel, only a 15 min walk to the beaches, shops all round and the buses are every 5 mins, apart from the mix up with the rooms i will always recommend this hotel.

    Wow…. Just read your review and realised it relates to a stay in October 2012! Much has changed since then and we have tightened our booking system to ensure we don’t overbook as it cost us extra to relocate guests. We are pleased you got a room after a short delay and that you enjoyed your stay so much that you are going to rebook for this year. It is a great compliment for us to have guests return. October 2013 looks like it will be very busy so if you are reading this review with a view to booking then we recommend you act quickly to avoid disappointment.

    I have thought long and hard about how to write my review, as I want it to be honest and with constructive criticism, as this was a very last minute holiday for me to recover from a major operation..... so here goes....on arrival after what is quite a long transfer from airport, fantastic, it was around 11 pm, greeted by Simon (Mehmet), you are a fab person, so funny and a great asset to the hotel. First impressions were great, even the other holiday makers spoke to us, that is unusual at first. Checked in and the reception staff lovely too, one constructive criticism Murat the travel rep, he pounced on us straightaway, Murat you are a lovely guy, but need to give the guests time to settle first, though I do understand you are just doing your job. Anyway we did book with him, no problems except for the dinner cruise the driver did not show up, but we did get 4 cocktails from Murat as an apology, so this was accepted and appreciated.

    The trips we went on were brill, but I would highly recommend the hamman (Turkish bath), just be prepared to say NO to extra treatments, jeep safari so much fun, the lazy day cruise and will try the diva night next time. I wouldn't bother with the Turkish night or the turtle beach and mud baths unless you have never done them before. I don't know if Terry across the road was cheaper, but he said he was, Murat said different, so just check this out.

    The room 505 was basic, but clean and comfortable, could do with a rubbish bin in the room, we made use of a carrier bag. Information regarding the hotel, facilities, meal times, area information needs to be in the room, we didn't have any. The air conditioning was included in our package, but for some reason turned itself off during the night which woke us up as it became so hot, there was a rumour that the hotel faked power cuts, but I can't confirm if this is true. The bathroom is adequate, but really does need a makeover, or replacing, it is very tired and stained now. To do this would give a greater impression of the rooms and I would not be suggesting 5* bathrooms, just to look nice. Our bath did not drain very well and may have been blocked, but we didn't complain as eventually it would drain, but maybe they do need looking at. Our balcony was not a balcony you could sit out on only stand to look out as it was surrounded by a wall, but as it was at the top the views were amazing, but would have preferred a balcony to sit on, but not really an issue for a week. All in all the room was quite good and will a little tlc could be fantastic.

    The meals were all inclusive and having been all inclusive several times before I do know what to expect. I have done 2* up to 5*. Now as you all should know this is a 3* and the food quality was good, the let downs were the breakfast and the variety. Any hotel you go to can get repetitive, but even within a low budget per person, the variety could be much better. As I said the food that was provided was not horrible or inedible, just lacking in imagination. I for one like to lap up the culture of any country I visit and do not expect English food, I enjoy the local food. I do not want English breakfasts, but I do want breakfast items that will go together. Unfortunately the items offered did not go together, hopefully this can be looked into. Please bare in mind the pancakes on one day were very very popular and this could be done more often, with lemon offered too. Again not an expensive item. The milk offered for use with tea, coffee and cereal really needs to be cold, I understand the need for UHT milk but please find a way to offer it cold. Warm milk on cereal is not nice. Food labels also would be helpful as you could not always tell what a dish was. Also it would have been a good idea for the staff to explain where cutlery was kept, this is not obvious until you know. I know some comments have said that it is like a canteen and not a restaurant, this is true, but can easily be improved with screening, as some of the tables are in the hotel main reception, its not nice when eating. Another idea would be so that you can get beer and maybe wine with your meal, rather than having to go outside the get it. The staff in the food area are very very pleasant and work hard. Please note it is very hot in this area and the fans could be used at every meal time. With small and inexpensive improvements the food and food area could be amazing.

    The all inclusive drinks options, are ok, but more local drinks could be included, to add variety. The plastic cups I understand should be used in the day for the pool area, but at night it would be much better to offer glasses.

    The staff Simon and Bobby, are what makes it...they are just great, Joe seemed to be ok at first and I am sure he is, but he needs to accept that not every young female is interested in him and his advances became annoying, no means no and does not mean the girl is scared of him, just not interested....please someone explain to him as it was getting to spoil our time, my daughter was getting distressed by it.

    The entertainment was sometimes very good, sometimes very poor, but needed to be on longer, it lasted for maybe 15 mins max. But this hotel is not alone, it is very typical and could be so much more improved. The staff at this hotel on the whole are brilliant and they could benefit from having an animation team, as they all have what it takes. Also they are very good with children and activities could be organised in the day for children and even a bit of pool fun for adults and children. We did have some fun nights so it is not horrible or boring. I do believe that after 10.30 pm when the all inclusive ends, drinks offers could be introduced.

    Sunbeds were never a problem, that was a blessing. The size of the hotel was brilliant, loved it being small and friendly. The area was lovely and so was Marmaris. The bars around the hotel were also nice.

    I hope my review comes across as constructive criticism, as our holiday was lovely and I would go back again with some improvements. With regards to the food, I don't think I could have eaten there for 2 weeks solid, it would have been too much the same, hopefully this improves for next year, so get good deal all inclusive and then eat out a few times. I do agree you should not have to do this though.

    So all in all a very enjoyable holiday, lovely staff, lovely location, fantastic weather, great trips...friendly holiday makers....with some small improvements, this hotel could be an exceptional 3* +.....

    Room Tip: Ask for a room on the front that has a proper balcony. Get a good deal all inclusive and eat out a few times. Do not book straightaway with hotel rep for trips, check prices with man across the road, be strong with this.

    Many thanks for you taking the time to write such a comprehensive review about your recent holiday at Club Dorado. We are pleased our staff made a good initial impression and served you well during your stay. We are surprised that you did not see the information sheet in the room as it has all of the details you mentioned and more and should be below the glass top of the dressing table. We will check 505 to replace this for future guests as we feel it’s important that everyone gets the information they need to make the most of their holiday. Our rooms are due for upgrade in 2014 and new bathrooms are top of our list of priorities although we do try to keep the present ones in a clean condition and most have commented that our standards of cleanliness are high. Thanks for your suggestions regarding the range of food on offer. We try hard to deliver quality and variety within the budget allowed but always listen to guest’s feedback to further improve what we provide. One guest had a solution to food labelling that we have now implemented, that is a blackboard with the menu detailed on it well in advance of lunch and dinner. It works well as it not only describes the dishes available and customers can see in advance what will be on offer and can plan their daily meals with ease. We have noted the milk issue and will provide a resolution so that future guests can enjoy cool milk with cereals etc. Glad your party enjoyed the staff and entertainment. We are having our sound and lighting system upgraded now and we will be offering more variety including quizzes, karaoke and more staff shows when the installation is completed within the next few days.
    An ‘enjoyable holiday’ was had and that is what we aim to provide. We expect most visitors to the area will want to sample local restaurants and experience some of the vast range of cuisine on offer locally but we do our best to ensure that there is always something to please as part of or all-inclusive package.
    Your summary suggests you were pleased with what you experienced and we will do our best to make those little improvements suggested to become ‘exceptional’.

    well il start with the positives this hotel as the best atmostphere ever.you could defanatley go on your own everyone chats to everyone is a small family run hotel that laughs day and night.the rooms are clean and the hotel is clean and tidy.it is in a great location and if you book a fabulous trip book with terry hes much cheaper and always delivers.the apex bar down the street is great for breakfast 17 lira for two cook breakfast with a mug of nescafe which is about £6.the hotel is low on drinks all inclusive shuts promptly at 1030pm and the drinks are really limited in small plastic cups.the food is boiled eggs and salad for breakfast and wedges chicken rice and salad for tea.saying that i love quality food so even if you went in a 4 star or restaurant its the same and i have to say i am a real foody and didnt find one exceptional restaurant in turkey.but myself and my teenagers and small guys had the best holiday we have ever had and would defenatley go again really gutted to come home.this is the first review i have done so i hope the chef gets a good talking too and sorts it out hopefully the drinks will improve and serve in glasses i noticed the staff didnt drink from the plastic reusable cups? well done simon and your team your an asset to this hotel we loved every minute.

    Room Tip: front rooms noisy overlooking pool but we didnt mind.

    Thanks for your review. We would like to start by addressing your final comment which has been presented as’ fact’, when it is really an opinion and one that is completely the opposite from two others posted below by guests who stayed at the hotel At exactly the same time. We value feedback when it is reasonable and when it is something we can realistically improve. A good example of that is breakfast and we have from this week introduced a wider selection of eggs during the week. {boiled, fried, scrambled, french toast, omlettes and pancakes are now served in rotation}, we have also introduced baked beans and sausage on selected days in addition to the toast, rolls, preserves, honey, cerials, museli, youghart, cheese, cold meats, fresh fruit and salads offered every day. We offer a reasonable selection of drinks at our all-inclusive bar and the plastic glasses are for safety reasons! We can’t have glass around a swimming pool when as it can cause very serious injuries. We note that you have not found ‘one exceptional restaurant’ in Turkey so perhaps that may provide a clue as to the real issue. We will continue to listen to constuctive feedback and let our reviewers judge how we are doing in terms of quality and value for money. We are very pleased to read that your party enjoyed the hotel’s atmosphere and that our staff made your holiday a success. We do hope you visit again and we will be doing everythiing possible to make what is left of this season and the 2014 one a better holiday experience in every way.

    I stayed here with my mum and the famous lewis for two weeks in june. First of all i have to thank the big boss man ibrahim for all your communication between us as u was so helpful and second to that for making time to come and introduce yourself to us i dont think we would of got that welcome in a 5 star hotel so thank you.

    now so many things i can write about here but the best bits have to be the staff what a lovely bunch of guys you are but the biggest stars of club dorado has to be joe who is so friendly and talks to everyone my son adopted him as his big brother (not sure at 31 i can have a 24 year old son) he was funny, sweet and caring working really hard for such long hours. then after a long day working dancing away most nights he is the number 1 star of club dorado hope u dont lose him as a team member. next star is simon he is funny, he loves the toy machine and won a bee for lewis who of course gave it to me. he works so hard making sure everyone is happy and enjoying there holiday only thing i hate him for is the fact he got a song stuck in my head for days ( i wanna be a millionare) ahhh pain in bum u are

    rep guy murat what a sweety big muscle teddy bear we went on 3 great trips with him not bad prices and really enjoyed them all. He even helped sort out an extra person when my boyfriend come to stay with only 10 minutes notice thank you for great trips out and being so friendly to. lewis says thank you for the ice cream.

    food and drink: the food guys worked so hard sorry i never learnt any of your names but you all work so hard keeping the place clean and tidy. the young chef in black is always there to help you to know what the foods are its kept stocked up and hot. i have to say i am really fussy so mainly ate the rice but my mum tried lots of the foods and she was happy enough. mums fave time of day was cake time i only tried on last day omg chocolate cake was amazing well done cooks. drinks i am again fussy but loved the sprite and fanta and brought my own drink from uk with me no problems at all. i think for the fact out of each guest you must only get a small amount as most of the money goes on flights you are all a great bunch of people and deserve a massive thank you and many more happy years working and running a lovely hotel. ps mum says u need bigger bins in bathroom. ahhh forgot to mention rooms bathroom not great but main room amazing so big even with 3 beds and sorry cleaning ladies for covering the tables with all my rubbish but a girl needs so much stuff. and thank u for room 107 it was perfect. lovely holiday guys may see u again soon. xxxx

    Great to read such a positive review. The boss has been trying hard this season to meet and listen to as many guests as possible to further improve what we deliver. His door is always open just at the front of the hotel for suggestions or even just to say hello. We are a small family business and like to get to know our guests many of whom return once and sometimes twice each year. Delighted to learn that you made friends with the staff and got the trips and assistance you needed from travel representative Murat who has a close relationship with the hotel and is always on hand to help our customers. Your comments about the all-inclusive food are most welcome. We can’t please everyone all the time but we are listening to feedback and trying to improve what we offer as the season progresses as far as our budget allows. Great to learn you liked your pool view room. We hope you will come and occupy it again in the near future and don’t worry about the stuff on the tables, we like everyone to feel at home!

    We came to the club dorada after i decided i could no longer stay in the hotel i originally booked me my husband and 2 teens we had a great time room was nice and clean,food and drink good and as for the owner sarah and her son they were lovely and took the time to chat to you,had a laugh with all the bar staff,we met a couple who ended up missing there flight home and BILL customer relations guy couldnt do enough for them (got them cab and flight within hours) great helpful guy!!! I would definitley recommend club dorado and will be returning hope all same staff still there! So funny! Give it a go you will love it. X
