whilst visiting marmaris late may my husband and i went to take a look at the blue bay platinum and were lucky enough to meet nicola the guest relations manager.she showed us around what is a wonderfull hotel and was kind enough to invite us to lunch.the food was very nice lots of choices hot and very well presented .we were very inpressed with this hotel and have booked 2 go there in oct for two weeks with the family. If every hotel had staff like nicola and the young tomas cook rep (sorry cant remember her name ) then going on holiday would be so much nicer

On arrival it was ..wow what a change as we stayed there last year . It was a great holiday and would go back in a second only down side is the queuing in the restraint at mealtimes also if you are not keen on chicken your a bit buggered but if you fancy a change go to the ill platto restraint the food is ace and say hi to alpacino he's great and will get you great deals on trips . Also have a word with Omar in the spa he's such a fab guy and makes your stay worthwhile ....hi Omar x

On arrival to blue bay platinum we were put in room 3405 in the apartments block.
Room at first looked grand the Missis and children checked the room and balcony out while I sorted the safe out with the hotel porter.
Safe sorted we wanted to dump the cases and go and check the place out so the Missis was trying to lock the balcony door which under further inspection we couldn't

I then rang reception and was told they would send somebody so I went out on balcony to see from the outside and have a look for myself the. To my amazement and total shock I found a glass panel missing we were on the fourth floor so they are very lucky I found it and my two year old didn't

After a very long journey that's the last fing you want to find after a very appologetic management team we were moved to room 3205 and was given late check out and some wine and a fruit pack

Overall feeling of hotel apart from the issue was very good and nicely done

Staff were cleaning every minute of the day

Rooms clean every day apart from Monday's fresh bedding towels new everyday

Entertainment was rubbish at first but then improved after new team was taken on board. The thing that really let the entertainment down was if its raining at night there's no entertainment because it outside but other than that there was some good shows

Food was nice and plentiful we was early season so new things like sushi, kebabs and icecream were being added daily.

Beers and cocktails were very nice and staff were brilliant

It's in a nice location two mins from beach, supermarket and lots of restaurants around

Dolmas stops right outside hotel to either centre of marmaris or icmeler

Overall an ok holiday

Any questions feel free to pm me

Our travel dates were 26th May for a week. Had been following the hotel development on Facebook for a while and was quite worried it wouldn't be finished in time. This was unfounded as the entrance and lobby are stunning, all modern white walls and glass & chrome. Lifts work very well. We were in room 2209 after first of all being allocated a double, which we requested to change as we're mum & daughter! Was no problem though and was done immediately. Room was overlooking the road at the front of the hotel but we had no problem at all with any road noise or other guests disrupting.
We paid 10 euro extra to have the extra pay channels - ITV1, ITV2, E4 that sort of thing. Not bad value for money for some Corrie at bedtime!
Swimming pool was fantastic and there were plenty of loungers but you do have to get up early if you want a bed that gets the sun all day - the accommodation blocks are high and the sun goes round as the day goes on, leaving you in the shade. We got up before 7 each day and managed to score good beds. Pool was very welcome after such hot weather.
Music around the pool was VERY repetitive - the same CD of disco songs and some sort of latin man singing Gypsy Waters and Everything but the Girl cover versions. Not great, day in day out! The animation staff tried hard and I was willing to do the aqua gym and the water polo - BUT the pool is one depth the whole way round - no good doing aqua gym or water polo if you are 5'1 and can't keep your head above water!!! There is no shallow end for little ones so beware.
Nightly entertainment was ok but again very repetitive and there wasn't really much atmosphere - same thing every night.
Restaurant was ok but the queues were stupidly long for the buffet - half an hour for the main course. That's after you walk around for 10 minutes trying to find a table. 99% of the tables are for 4 people - so you will probably eat some or most of your meals sat next to a perfect stranger if there are only 2 of you. Food is slightly repetitive and we did end up eating out a couple of nights to get away from chips, chicken and fish nuggets.
No tea & coffee facilities in the rooms and no handrails for disabled guests around the pool would be the only two 'criticisms' and I wouldn't really call them criticisms, more observations.
Drinks were a bit rubbish - clearly watered down. They were free though and free flowing. Did find some of the barmen surly & rude - far more interested in the pretty girls stood next to me!
Did not try the hairdresser or spa - was put off by the owner of the hairdresser hanging out the door as I passed and suggesting I needed a wash & blow dry! Charming!
Someone else mentioned the Picaddilly restaurant opposite the hotel, we ate here and it was lovely food and very cheap too, worth a visit if the all inclusive food is boring you!
This is a lovely looking hotel and with a few tweaks could be smashing, they just have not quite got there yet. For what we paid it was good value but I don't think I'd return to this particular hotel.

we stayed at blue bay 26th may for one week, having followed the progress of the refurbishment on facebook,we were not disappointed, the hotel is beautiful.we had a transfer of over 3 hours, after being told by thomas cook transfer time would be 1and a half hours,so we arrived very tired and hungry. we asked for a sea view room with single beds[as i was travelling with my daughter],and were given a double with pool view, but on request we were moved straight away, the rooms are a little on the small side, but have everything you need, including a fridge, the balconies are also very small. the walk in shower is very impressive, just what you need after a long day in the sun.the food was nice, and quite varied ,and the drinks were also very good.the staff on the whole were very pleasant and hard working, although a few of the younger ones were quite rude and didn't even acknowledge you when you said thankyou. the swimming pools were lovely,we never had any trouble getting sunbeds, and the main pool is right beside the snack bar,the only fault i could find with the whole hotel,is that the main pool would benefit from having a handrail,so that disabled guests such as myself [and older] guests would have something to hold on to while getting in and out ,[something i found very hard to do due to mobility problems],but!!!,i absolutely loved the pool and spent most of my holiday in it. overall, this is a beautiful new hotel, and i thoroughly enjoyed my stay ,and i would definitely stay there again .

The rooms look nice but had damp and also fur growing out of the wood. We had a notice through door that the staff were going to fix this problem so the damp was painted over and fur just wiped off. The staff were a joke as the maids would disregard the DO NOT DISTURB sign and walk in without ringing bell. I was on medication so I couldn't drink alcohol so I asked for a cola and they put vodka in it. Any drinks you get for the kids then please try them. The buffet was a joke as you were always waiting ages in line and there wasn't enough seats. Food choice was really bad unless you like chicken and salad.

Stayed here from the 29th may to 6th June, just got back from a llovely trip with thomascook, the hotel looks and feels fantastic from the white reception desk and the bubble walls very artistic ( not sure about the mannequins look like they belong in a clothes shop) but still stylish, asked for a pool view room but got room 1118 with a view of 3 walls, got it change straight away to 1405 excellent, sun on the balcony 1st thing in the morning, fantastic air conditioning to cool you down and a gorgeous walk in shower with plenty of hot water, it was a bit of a get me up at 6am to get the best spot of the sunbeds lark, I managed till 7.30 lol, the restaurant was a similar affair if you didn't get in early you hit the queue, although there was chicken every meal time there was enough of a different choice to have a variety of meals during our stay, we also ate at il primo al a carte which belongs to the hotel but payable extra excellent food the service was a little quick as we like to take our time but our main came before we had finished the starter, there's is a beach which belongs to the hotels but was difficult to get the loungers and a bit cramped up like sardines, the rep Demi was very helpful and as time to talk to guests whenever she is about, overall the hotel and staff were excellent with just a few niggles, thankyou for everything blue bays, p.s we ate out a couple of times and enjoyed a few drinks at the Piccadilly bar over the road which with both England and turkey winning the football friendlies made an excellent night thanks slot to all Andy and Linda
