“A great few days”
Reviewed 20 March 2014

I recently stayed with a few friends at the Blue Bay Platinum during our vacation to Turkey. I'll admit, the beginning was a bit bumpy thanks to some miscommunication and confusion but the staff stepped up their game and the rest of our stay was super relaxing. We went during the off season on purpose to maximize our relaxation and I am grateful for that decision. We got to know the staff really well during our four days and they were all very, very helpful. Due to it being the off season, we got nicer rooms than expected and it definitely helped add to the value of our stay. The hotel's location is great, a trip on the Dolmus into the center of town took about 10 minutes. The restaurant, Il Primo offered a variety of cuisines that all tasted very good, for a good price. My only gripes are the effectiveness of communication up to date information (this was an issue on two occasions) and the freshness of linen (some of my friends thought the linen, while clean, was sitting out in the rooms for weeks because no one stayed in them). The gripes are not enough to make me look elsewhere since I do plan on returning to the hotel the next time I'm in Marmaris.

Room Tip: Splurge on a suite, it's worth it.

we went to this hotel in 2013 after seeing it on a previous holiday to Marmaris, we love Marmaris so wanted to treat ourselves to the best on our next visit. How wrong could we have been, we arrived at 5am to be given the wrong size room, had to pay another £300 to change to the correct size room and claim the money back when we returned to England the following week, we went all inclusive as a treat and were disgusted that drinks were charged after a certain time and at different parts of the hotel, The pool area was always heaving and there were never any areas after our morning walk to the shops, by day 3 we decided that all inclusive or not we had to get away and spent the rest of our days on the beach paying for drinks and food and our evenings on the main strip paying for drinks and food due to the fact that there was no entertainment at the hotel and the place was heaving with unruly adults and kids. We so wish that we had spent our cash on another quieter hotel further down the road, This is not a hotel for people that want to relax and enjoy and chilled fun filled break, Our children had a much better time on the beach, taking part in the watersports and eating at the restaurants in the town rather than sat by a bar in a hotel full of people only interested in getting hammered. Never ever will we return to this hotel, looks nice on the pictures but its cold, unwelcoming and toooooo busy.

Room Tip: dont choose one in this hotel, we recommend the romance or the elegance.. even for families.

The Blue Bay Platinum is genuinley the best hotel i have ever stayed in! I travelled in may 2013 with my boyfriend and we were blown away by the hotel as soon as we were dropped off by the coach! The food was out of this world and the hotel itself in terms of decor was stunnning very contemporary and modern. The service was brilliant- there was always someone around to answer any querie and we were woken up at the time we requested on the dot every morning! The hotel location is perfect! Just around the corner is the beach and just down the road is Marmaris town! Buses also pass regularly and we visited many places not taking long to get there at all! the hotel layout is perfect 2 pools situated at the front and back so that you can follow the sun and be away from the 'busy-ness' if you like! The eatery is extremely accessible and there are shops on site for when you fancy a lazy day! Air conditioning is complimentary which you dont find in may hotels abroad.
SIMPLY THE BEST!

Rooms are spotless, plenty of space. Loved the light on the front of the door which you could turn on or off so the maids knew when it was safe to enter your room. :) . Food was good in the dining area, always a decent choice, but I loved the snack bar more. They made amazing chicken wraps with 'special sauce' (not what you think, don't ask). Cheeseburgers, nuggets, chips etc, all excellent for when you needed a munch when the dining area was closed. The staff were all friendly and hardworking, especially the guy with the long hair at the snack bar, can't remember his name. One or two problems with the receptionists, only 1 guy seemed to understand a lot of english while others seemed confused. Excellent holiday though, and I would go back to this hotel in a heartbeat.

The hotel is very modern and clean but the rooms are extremely small. We had very little room and as we stayed for 2 weeks we felt claustrophobic so we didnt stay in the room much. We travel abroad 4 weeks every year so have visited numerous hotels and this was definitely the smallest room we have ever stayed in. The air conditioning was good as was the food and all of the staff. Very high standard of staff and food but as it was soooo busy we struggled to get a table in the restaurant when we went about 7.30pm on numerous occasions and therefore we did eat out about 5 times during our stay.

Room Tip: Consider a sea view to avoid overlooking the road

I travelled in 2013 with my family, and my first thought was... OUTSTANDING!

Reception - Absolutely beautiful, plenty of seats and stuff, staff there are wonderful, help with anything, always smiling! You can also see the pool from the window at the far end of the reception, looks lovely!

Food/Restaurant- Food was a bit samey, not much variety, but the food that was there was extremely tasty and was much better than expected! As for the restaurant, it was rather small, but you could sit wherever you wanted and there is an exit at the side of the restaurant which takes you straight to the pool areas.

Pool - Two pools, a large one which was always warm as it was in the sun and the sun was there from about 9am-6pm. The other was a shaded kids pool which was usually cold but warmed up once you'd been in for a while. There are two slides. Pool is a bit small but everyone gets a chance to go in anyway.

Outside of the hotel- it is a beautiful place, a bit of a culture shock. If you get the chance, DO go on the jeep safari.

Rooms- Large rooms. Beds were rather hard though. We got used to them as the week went on. Rooms were gorgeous and there are usually large balconies.

Wifi- There is free wifi but only in reception, if you go out of the reception you will lose connection but the wifi is very fast and works well in reception.

Evening entertainment-There wasn't much for adults. For kids there is a kids disco and my sisters loved it. Afterwards there are various things. The people who work there do try and make it as good as possible but i thought the only good thing they had done was the karaoke on the last night, which was really good but other than that, i didnt really like the entertainment so if you want to go to bed at night but you're drawn to the evening entertainment, you should probably just give it a miss.

Bathroom- Full facilities, shower, bath, hairdryer, sink etc etc.

If you are thinking about coming here, DO IT. THIS HOTEL IS THE BEST I'VE EVER BEEN TO, IT'S ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING. C O M E T O B L U E B A Y S P L A T I N U M. !!!

Love you blue bays hotel!!

We stayed there in the beginning of September this year and for the price we paid, you couldn't really fault it. Hotel is pretty modern although our room on the 6th floor was pretty small, but you don't go on holiday to spend the time indoors so it wasn't something that could bother us. There were 2 pools at the hotel, and one of them is particularly busy as it's by the bar. Most of the guests are Polish, Russian and German and the English are maybe at about 20% the most of the guests at the hotel. Food wasn't a disappointment considering it's a Turkey. Variety was really plentiful and apart of the day when they served a kebab at the restaurant the queue was a minimal. There's one a la carte restaurant but we haven't used it so I cannot tell you if it's any good. There's a free wifi in a lobby area. Staff is polite and helpfull, had no problems with them, although couple of them seemed to have a bit of attitude but I suppose it's cause they're overworked and have to deal with drunk and annoying guests... On the other hand most of the guests at the hotel behaved really good which not always is the case in some of the places we spent aour holiday. Overall I can honestly recommend this place to the others.
P.S. Beware of Turks outside of the hotel, they will try to rip you off at any occasion, so better exchange your money as you won't be better of with paying in pounds or euros.
Overall really nice hotel
