“Wouldn't stay anywhere else...”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

We have just returned from 14 nights at Blue Bay Platinum, this was a couples holiday and finding things to fault with this hotel is extremely difficult.

We didn't arrive until the early hours of the morning but were quickly checked in and shown to our rooms, where a quick snack was waiting for us. The rooms are spotless very modern like the rest of the hotel and for the price we paid you really feel like your in a premium hotel at great value.

Have to say a big thank you to Paula the Thomson rep at the hotel, she is great with helpful tips and useful advice, she is very approachable and easy to get a hold of. She also booked us onto some great excursions, we booked the Blue Cruise and the Dalyan Check out, both of which I would highly recommend, especially the Dalyan Check out for those with a late flight as this is the best way to spend your final day.

The staff are all very friendly and helpful, we met Antonio on the first day and he booked all four of us into the spa, which is a must a great way to start off the holiday, and very reasonably priced.

The only down sides I can think of is the daily maid service, they very much do the bare minimal some days barely making the bed, and I think if this one thing was improved upon it would leave everyone coming away feeling like they have ticked all the boxes. Also the hotel advertises it's own private section on the beach, however the beach is not the best in this location very pebbly and you have to walk across a waste land area between the hotel and beach, definitely worth traveling to Icmeler beach instead. Food was all great, lots of choices, even after two weeks we had not become fed up of the food, was all very tasty.

Despite the couple of drawbacks I would still definitely give Blue Bay 5/5 due to the value for money you receive we will definitely be back to Turkey and Blue Bay in the future!

Room Tip: We requested a high level, pool view room when booking through Thomson, and that is exactly what we...

We turned up to Blue Bay Platinum at about 5am, slow check in but an lovely place to stay. We had a 10 day holiday and loved every minute. Staff we really friendly and make our stay enjoyable. I've never seen a hotel being cleaned so much :) we were lucky enough to have a great room overlooking the pool but thank goodness for air conditioning!! It was a scorcher! We booked excursions before we left the UK but after realising that the trip to Pammukale was a 3hr coach trip each way we called Thomson and asked for a cancellation, they confirmed the cancellation by email within hours. We opted for the Dalyan trip instead which was amazing, a well worth trip. The only downside to our amazing holiday was the repetitive food choice, we ended up eating out a few times just for a change of menu and a change of scenery but there are some amazing cheap restaurants near by serving great food. Paula our rep at the hotel was great too, friendly and very knowledgable. We hope to go back again some day!

We stayed at the Blue Bay in june for two weeks as a couple.

Our first impressions of the hotel was that it was clean, looked nice and had welcoming staff that checked us in and even took our bags to our room.
Our room was small but sufficient as we hardly spent anytime there. The aircon is free but for british tv you must pay £15. However, we found a couple chanels already on it so we didn't need to spend the money. The only downside to the room was that we only had a tiny bin in the bathroom, the maids cleaning was not very thorough and the hotel could be quite loud at night but these were only minor issues.

The meals were very good - especially the snack bar! The only downside regarding the restraunt is the lack of labelling as you don't know what your eating. I would recommend going to dinner at 7 o'clock or after half 8 as the queues get massive. Another thing I would recommend for staff to do is encourage queueing as many people skip and get served first which is frustrating. Food is available basically 24/7 which is a step above any other hotel and it also has a patisserie which you definitely need to try as its part of your all inclusive.

Staff at this hotel are exceptional and much better than any other hotel we have been to. The animation team are hard-working and always have something for you to do aswell as being really friendly and helpful. However, the girls tended to avoid talking to us but I think this was due to the lanuage barrier.
Bar staff are also great, especially the one (can't remember his name!) who works at the lounge bar at night as he was really friendly and talkative.

We loved this hotel and Marmaris so much that we are going to book up straight away for next year. I would advise booking trips/excursions across from the hotel at Yagna Tourism with Kev as it is so cheap in comparison to Thomson's prices. We got 5 trips for £100 for two people, this included pick-up, insurance, drop-off, drinks and sometimes our meal. Our Thomsons rep Paula was lovely but did not mention that on your last day you have access to the spa's shower facilities so don't get conned into doing the last day trip and late check-out! On your last day you still have access to your all-inclusive so the hotel are really accomodating.

See you next year Blue Bay!

I have just got back from 11 nights at this hotel and what a top class hotel it really is!

From the moment we arrived, the staff were most helpful and polite. Service was excellent. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable... the shower was amazing!! Despite being in a room overlooking the main road, noise was minimum and was not an issue at all. Food was varied and of a very high standard, its impossible to get bored of the menu as its so vast. We ate in el primo for our a la carte night and it was beautiful.

There are 5 pools in total, we tended to go to the quiet pool purely because the 'Animation Team' were slightly too 'in your face' for us. Perhaps the only thing I could possibly moan about was that and the various people who did approach you by the pool to try and sell you things or take your photo (photographer). It was slightly too much at times.

The beach is small and pebbly but suits its purpose. The long beach bars and marina are perfectly located and if you're there for the nightlife the hotel do put on transport to bar street which is a bonus.

The spa is definitely worth a visit, reasonably priced compared to the UK and really was a lovely end to our holiday.

Overall, this hotel is simply beautiful, well managed and run like clockwork. If i return to Turkey in the future, I will most definitely only stay at this hotel. The Holiday Blues are worse when you've lived like a queen for 12 days!

Room Tip: I very much doubt you could have a bad room in this hotel. The pool side may be slightly louder due...

We have stayed at the Blue Bay several times (second time this year) and it never fails to please, only problem was we had to leave!

The room was cosy and very clean with a road side view that framed the mountains of Marmaris and the quiet pool. The internet and TV services were excellent and we would like to stay in this room again.

Food and drink was very good with a broad of selection of dishes. The white wine in the restaurant was lovely and the free ice creams and cocktail of the day were nice touches, included in the all inclusive. The friendly faces and service in the restaurant made meal times an enjoyable experience. Nothing was too much for the hard working staff. Suleman, the bar man at the Lounge bar was very courteous, smiley and professional. He was a provider of excellent service, being a great mixologist.

The hotel in general was very stylish, due to the renovations and very clean. All requests were met. Nicola the guest relations manager was excellent, as always and goes above and beyond to help guests with any problems they have and she is brilliant at resolving them. Finally, Vehap one of the Managers, ensures the smooth running of the Blue Bays, paying close attention to detail and always helpful, friendly and professional. Excellent service delivery is his priority, it is clear that he and all the team work well together, ensuring the safety of guests.

Overall, we had an excellent holiday and didn't want to leave. Vehap, Nicola and the rest of the staff, make you feel like a member of the Blue Bays family and nothing is too much for them. We will return and recommend this hotel to all.

Just got back from 11 nights at blue bay with my boyfriend. Before we went we were a bit put off by the reviews we read saying the entertainment was rubbish, food was bad, impossible to get a sun bed but we didn't experience any problems except that the food got a bit boring towards the end of the holiday but we put that down to the fact that we stayed for 11 days. The entertainment team were friendly and even if you didn't enjoy the entertainment there is plenty of stuff to do in walking distance. The staff were really good and would do anything for you. The hotel was very clean and pools were big with plenty of sun beds. Would recommend it to anyone!
