“Great place to stay, staff were brilliant ! A MUST.”
Reviewed 20 June 2011

AS a family holiday or a party holiday this hotel is great for both, you can easily get a seat at the pool, pool was basic but fun for the kids. The bar staff were brilliant, Gem was great with both my kids and to me and my parther. Helping out all the time. Ate in the bar bit a few times and can't complain one bit.
Night enterainment was great with OZZY and COOKIE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! great fun, yeah BABY lol.
OZZY trying to copy my scootish voice but can't do it.
Bit of a walk to the beach front but the bus stops right outside.

Rooms were very nice also, loves like the hotel has been done up not to long ago, maids done a good job everyday.
Music had to be turned down at 12am as they would get a fine so I would not worry about the noise.
Great place to stay and will defo go back. Gem was fanastic !!!!

Thanks
Conan & Family.

we arrived on 3rd june for 2weeks, didnt get to the hotel till early hours of about 4.30am was greated by reception bloke who was very nice and 1 of the guys took our suitcases up to the room. the room was very clean we stayed in 406 so it was facing the sister hotel with not much of a view but better room than my mum got she stayed in 207 which faces the pool with the speaker playing loud music allll day right underneath. the room was cleaned every day and the cleaning ladies were very nice.
We started the holiday self catering but after a few days of going out every morning and evening with 3 kids we decided to go half board which cost £9 each a day and hlf price for kids. The food was abit bland but was ok for 2weeks. The waiters cant do enough for you very friendly. Ozzy the entertainment guy was FAB he was sooo nice and very funny, Cookie the other entertainment guy was abit too much in your face always going on that he was gay and saying 'dirrty dirrty' and was very rude and talking about sex way too much for it to be a family hotel but other than that hes ok. Kids club was great the kids really enjoyed it as they are properly looked after the girls even make sure the kids wash there hands after using the toilet so defo trained well!
There isnt alot going on for the kids at night no entertainment at all so the kids r left running round, also not very child friendly as 3 kids nearly drowned as to many ppl are leaving things around the pool side like lylos and stuff you cant see your child in the pool properly. also make sure when you order drinks you ask if you want them large or small as if you dont the bar manager will make sure you get charged for a large and then end up with a huge bill at the end of the night, also make sure people dont put there food and drinks order on your room number as wen you order something the waiter just asks for your room number.
We have come home and we can honestly say we dont know how this hotel is number 1 in marmaris because ive been to about 5 hotels in marmaris and this was defo 1 of the worst and iam not picky i just think that when you go to a family hotel that is what you should get and this was prob more of an 18- 30s as its mainly aimed at adults.

Wow! I don't know where to start. I cannot rate this place highly enough. I knew it was the highest rated on trip advisor, but this exceeded all expectations and can't recommend it highly enough.

Check-in process was brilliant, in the early hours of the morning we were met with a friendly receptionist. The rooms are fantastic, very modern decor and air-con included. Everywhere throughout reception area, pool area, restaurant etc was always spotless at all times. Maids were in everyday, leaving clean towels and changing sheets. Staff were always tidying chairs and tables constantly.

We very rarely left the apartments during the day or in the evening because the entertainment was that good, and the people fantastic. I went with my boyfriend, and another couple all aged in our 20's, and we had the time of our lives. I can't remember when i last laughed so much in the space of just 2 weeks.

We were Half Board and the food was great. Crazy chef was always happy to see us coming.

The location was perfect for us, a little out of the way of Marmaris itself, but only about a nice 15 minute walk. Or you can get a dolmus immediately outside if you wish to explore. But it was nice to be away from the busier centre, there are many restaurants and shops in the immediate vicinity to the apartments as well. But as i said, we never wanted to leave anyway.
Make sure you visit Philip in the supermarket across the road he is such a nice guy. And cheaper than the on-site supermarket. We miss our late night visits to him for chocolate already!!

The atmosphere around the place was always amazing, with a good variety of music played around the pool all day. If you have any music requests just ask Ozzy and he will add it to his playlist. The staff are all so attentive, with someone always being around if you need anything. Mehmet (Big Al) the manager is a top guy, always keeping an eye on the place from first thing in the morning to last thing at night. He seen us off personally on our last day and helped with our cases.
You don't actually need to leave your sunbed if you want a drink, or ice-creeeeeeeeeeaaaam, or any food at all off the menu. We became very lazy!! They will always bring it right out to where you are, along with knife & fork, ketchup & mayo etc - whatever you want. Everything, and everyone, is so laid back here. A really enviable way to be.

All the staff regularly got pushed in the pool throughout the day it just became the norm, but they are all used to it. So don't hesitate to get them in, just be aware that it will also happen to you for your entire holiday as soon as they see you are up for a bit of banter. It is very hard to stay dry around the pool with Ozzy and Cookie creeping around with their water guns anyway. There are always fun activities in the pool during the day, but if you don't want take part then there is no great pressure. Evening entertainment was great also, no complaints at all. Happy hour is between 5 & 6 each night.

Most importantly though i want to say a big big big big hello to all the staff that we had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know. We will never forget yous in a hurry. We were all made to feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. After only a few days it was as though we had seriously all known each other for years. I have such admiration for each and every one of them for the work that they do and the number of hours that they work. Yous are all a real credit to the Cettia name. I really hope they are all still together as a team this time next year.

GEM! - This man IS a real gem!! A perfect gentleman. So keen to please and will bend over backwards to help you in any way that he can. Missing him loads.

Hudo! - A wee star, he is a fantastic member of staff who we all loved spending time with, from morning to night. A great friend. He always made sure we were ok.

Thomas! - (Jimmy!) An overall great guy so happy to please. And a quality footballer!! "Cettiaa Championns owoooooo!"

Ibo - A good man, always ready to serve you with a smile from early hours of the morning & took the time to chat and get to know us.

Bobo - Dancing Bobo was so much fun. "Lets get some picinics Bobo!"

And all the other staff, wee Fatih (still to go in the pool-but too hard to catch), pool boy Musti was fantastic also, always kept us our sunbeds. A great man. And Bob & Charlie. Sorry if i have forgotten anyone.

Last but not least, Ozzy and Cookie the entertainers. Definitely two of a kind, a great duo. I pray that they are still together here next year. Two talented guys that took the time to get to know us, which was so appreciated. We had so much fun all day & night with them, such unforgettable banter. Miss you gays!

Everything about this holiday was exceptional. We all agree in saying that we would not stay anywhere else other than the Club Cettia. I have been to many places in the world but i have never felt so depressed as i did when having to leave here and say goodbye. 2 weeks just wasn't long enough. I have no shame in admitting that we cried saying goodbye, and all the way to the airport. And it takes a lot to make me cry over something like this.
We found such good friends in everyone, and hope that they also enjoyed their time with us, and our company, just as much. So many great memories.

Don't forget us!

Mehmet - I know you are reading this! (Still playing pool table??) Please please keep this team of staff for next summer.

You have the perfect team.

Thankyou for everything.

Emma, Shannon, Aaron & Megan. oxo

We loved NEARLY everything about these apartments.... The BIG problem for us was the loud music. It pumped out from 7.30am in the morning when they started laying the tables round the pool for breakfast, until at least midnight. It was just too loud when lying aroudn the pool during the day - I like a bit of music but this was pumping clubbing music. It was basically what the guys working wanted to listen to in order to keep moving, keep the shift fun etc... rather than for the guests. We'd ask them to turn it down, they'd be very nice and do so, but then half an hour later someone else would walk past the stereo and turn it up again. The evening music, fair enough - you'd expect this. My other BIG problem with the music was that this is a family hotel (we went via Thomas Cook) and every now and again, they play songs with really explicit lyrics...I was just waiting for my 5 year old to come back over singing "So I unzipped my fly and gave it to her" etc... Again, raised this with our Thomas Cook rep, it was then ok for a few days, then back to the same. I'm not really a complaining person, or that fussy, but it was a step too far. THOMAS COOK, if you are checking these reviews, you need to sort this out in a family hotel!

It was so much nicer at the apartments than up at the hotel, indeed some of the hotel guests would come down to the apartment pool for theday - the kids pool is next to the main pool so easy to keep an eye on them. Although I have to say that the main pool was very deep - I couldn't touch the bottom and I'm 5-7 so if you aren't a strong swimmer (or your child isn't) then be cautious. The hotel pool is sloping so easier in this regard but you couldn't find a sun lounger up there for love nor money after 8am in the morning, whereas the apartments pool filled up initially by 9.30ish and then by lunchtime, people had moved on and there was space again.

Apart from the music, the staff (mostly young men in their 20s) were great - couldn't do enough for you, friendly, a good laugh, making the young girls smile but not being creepy! The kids loved Ozzy and the hotel photographer and we had some really interesting chats with some of the waiters about the different parts of Turkey that they come from.

We really enjoyed the walk into town - a good couple of km but lovely in the coolness of evening to walk off dinner or go for a few drinks. The entertainment at the apartments is VERY cheesy but you do get into the swing of it...bingo...michael jackson impersonator, snake dancers etc... The Beste Cafe just down the road on the left did great food for lunch - we were half board and whilst the food was OK at the apartments...it wasn't the best, wasn't the worst. Mainly turkish though or european with a kind of turkish twist. We found something to eat each night but then again we do like salads so could opt out of the meat and chips option!

The kids club at the hotel is great - the girls there were fantastic and we had no worries about leaving our 5 year old there for a couple of hours session - you have to be quick at opening time or to book for the evening events like the chocolate party as they are popular but we were never turned away and our daughter had a good time, giving us a valuable couple of hours here and there to chill out.

The apartments and the rooms were very cozy, the staff was super. We had a great time with cookie the entertainer. The food and drinks were reasonably priced. The aparts were a walking distance to downtown city center. You can also take dolmus ride to the bazaar. There is a little silver shop next to selma jewellery called Tufy Silver, if you wanna buy some pandora charms for cheap prices. The quality of the charms are very good, definetly go there if you are into jewellery! We will be back in September for more... can't hardly wait. John
