I visited the Grand Ideal Premium Hotel with my mum, dad and sister, we had booked two family rooms.

Arrival - On arrival the hotel was really grand, the lobby/reception is all marble and gold and really well decorated, the reception staff were really helpful and the luggage boy was really friendly. We arrived at around 4am and after reading other reviews about been placed on the 5th floor which were the attic rooms we were hoping we wasn't put in one, we was out in the attic rooms 5th floor and the rooms were horrible, you couldn't swing a cat, the rooms were really small, the bathrooms were yellow and not very nice and as we had booked 2 family rooms, the other room was exactly the same but had 2 single beds and had NO BALCONY, which was a big surprise as we had booked this! We immediately went back to reception and complained and they stated there was nothing they could do until 10am that morning so we had to spend a night in the rooms and at 10am that morning we was told that we was going to be given 2 adjoining family rooms on the 2nd floor, these rooms were really nice, really clean and had balconies.

Rooms - The rooms we was given were really spacious, one had a double bed for my mum and dad, and the other for me and my sister had a double bed and a single bed, they were really spacious, the balconies were a good size, the bathrooms were really modern and nice and clean, the big cubicle shower was really powerful and was really nice to use, the views weren't all that great but views aren't really important to us, the cleaners always cleaned the rooms and changed our towels, we even got towels to use round the pool which was nice. The TV had allot of English channels on them so we was able to watch movies and listen to music all the time.

Food/drink - There is a great choice of food at this hotel with a early and a late breakfast which do things such as eggs, sausage, scrambled egg and also omelettes, toasties, fried eggs etc. to a good dinner menu at the snack bar with spaghetti, chips, pizza, burgers etc. and the tea was a good choice with jacket potatoes, salads, chips, chicken, beef, turkey and the desserts were really nice too, especially the different flavours of ice-cream! The drinks were nice, through the day they do Pepsi, Sprite, Fanta, Slush's as well as beer etc. there is also juice and water machines and a tea and coffee machine so you never go thirsty. They didn't have Efes beer which we was disappointed about, but they have Tuborg which is a different kind of beer. There is a Ala'carte restaurant which you get one free meal in for you to try but we didn't bother and the night-club is really fun, they have karaoke and music and all the reps come and join in, the Cafe de Paris was nice too which offers tea, coffee, cake, sandwiches etc. all through the night. We went out for tea a couple of times because we wanted to try something different and we went to a bar which is on the beach front called Santana Karaoke and dance bar, this was really nice and would definitely recommend.

Pool - The pool is large, really nice and refreshing, you never have to fight for a sun-bed if you get up early enough but there is always extra sunbeds for the late people, if you get an umbrella, i would recommend putting all your stuff on the hooks as allot of the Foreigners were coming and pinching them, saying that they were there's. The slide is open at different times and was really fun too. There is an indoor pool but we didn't go in there because it was right next to the Gym area, there is a women that works in the massage/spa area trying to sell Turkish baths and all different treatments, this can get annoying but as soon as we told her we didn't want anything she didn't talk to use at all. Close to the pool there is a shop which sells all different things like ice-creams and drinks and also a jewellers which cleaned all of our jewellery for free which was nice and there is a hairdressers which we all had our eyebrows done for 4pounds which was good.

Staff/animation team - All the staff at the hotel are really friendly and helpful and go out there way to help you. The waiters come for your cups and plates as soon as you put them down which can be annoying but it got them out of the way so this wasn't a problem, the animation team were really nice they always come and talk to you and try and get you to play all the different games that they have to offer and like to tease you and get photos etc. especially Uzzy ;)! The reception staff are helpful and the managers, the bar staff can choose certain people to serve but they always use there manors and have a smile. We made friends with one of the waiters who was deaf and couldn't speak, he was really nice and always communicated with us and made us laugh.

Hotel - The hotel is really grand, everything is well decorated and all marble, gold and matching, the lobby/reception had all different seating areas and has light displays which change colour and the cleaners always keep all the areas really nice and clean, the entrance is really grand, the rooms are descent, the hotel is in a good location, its close to the beach which people staying at the hotel can use the beach to the other hotel Prime Beach, this was only round the corner, the beach is just round the corner and all the bars, restaurants etc. are all a long. You can get a dolmus or a taxi from right outside the hotel to get to different places and the Marmaris centre and marina is around a 1hour 45minute walk from the hotel which we walked once but found it too hot and tiring to do again.

Wi-Fi - The hotel has free wi-fi which we could connect on our phones in the hotel room and round the pool, this was good because we could go on Facebook and internet which gave us something to do in the rooms.

Overall the hotel is a nice enough place, with great staff and the animation team put on shows and games which made it something different, there was allot of different cultures and languages in the hotel which we wasn't too keen on but we spoke to a few people.
A nice hotel, in a nice location, with nice staff.

Room Tip: Don't go on the fifth floor - Attic rooms!!

Thank you for your review of your holiday posted on the tripadvisor website.
I am happy that you have enjoyed your holiday with us and that you have enjoyed the decoration of the Hotel and that the Hotel supplies free towels to use at the pool/beach. It also pleases me that you have experienced the friendliness and helpfulness of all staff within the Hotel from Reception with your room change request to the animation team and bar and restaurant staff. I am also happy to read that you have enjoyed all the food served in the restaurants and have enjoyed the drinks especially the slush drinks (new for this year) and that you have also enjoyed your time at the pool and on the slides and the karaoke parties held in the Black Out Club. I am also happy to read that you have enjoyed the free sky tv channels in your room and also the free wifi access in the Reception/lounge/lobby areas. I do hope that you and your parents will visit us again in the future and I would like to thank you for choosing Grand Ideal Premium for your holiday.

Just home from a 10 day holiday at the Grand Ideal Premium and we loved it!

We arrived in the early hours of the morning after a delay getting out of Marmaris airport to a very warm welcome and shown straight up to our room. Our room was on the forth floor over looking the pool. Our first impressions of the hotel as many have said on here were that is was spotless and clean.
We spend each day around the pool and yes people do get up at silly o'clock to put towels out on the sunbeds but even on the mornings where we had a lay in (sometimes not getting to the pool until 12pm) we always found sunbeds.
We used the spa on the first day and paid very little for the wonderful treatments we got, so well worth a visit.
The entertainment team all work very hard and are great with all age ranges. We found all other staff to be helpful and as poliet as they can be. The bar area was often busy but you got served as quickly as they could and there wasn't a drinks list but if you asked what they had they would tell you!!
We found the food to be ok, we always enjoyed what we had but we did eat out 2 nights as it could get slightly repetitive.
We booked through Thomas Cook and Fatima our rep was brillant, always said hello and was very helpful when we wanted to book some trips.
All in all this was a perfect holiday which we enjoyed very much. I would highly recommend this hotel and would go back tomorrow if we could!

My Girlfriend and I have just returned from the Grand Ideal and we could not fault the holiday from beginning to end. We arrived early hours of the morning and where shown to our room which was on the 5th Floor (i was aware of previous bad comments about the rooms on the 5th floor) and i had requested we change rooms. The next morning the staff where very helpful and moved us to the first floor. The room had perfect views over the pool area and was very clean and spacious. The Hotel itself was very clean, the staff where all very helpful and despite people complaining about the food, i really thought it was excellent!!
We had a Turkish Bath and massage at the Spa and again would recommend to anyone. Very relaxing and great way to start the holiday.
We didnt stay around the hotel in the evening so cannot really comment on the entertainment staff, however what we did see of them they looked okay/average. We would recommend a short bus ride into Marmaris Centre where there is plenty to see and do, also lively bars and clubs if that appeals to you as it did us.
You must also pay a visit to the Camelot Jewellers Shop which is located on site at the Hotel. We found the guys, Ramon & Danny to be very helpful and they cater for any of your needs from a simple 'free ring cleaning service' to fully customised jewellery. The design they came up with for my girlfriends ring was 'perfect'!!
The hotel itself is in a good location and everything is a short walk or short bus ride away.
Great Value for money, clean, great selection of food, and friendly staff and would recommend this hotel to anybody from young to old

Have just returned from Grand Ideal All Inclusive which was advertised as a 5 star experience..Which it certainly was NOT!!
Positives...
Hotel was spotlessly clean and entertainment staff were very hardworking & friendly.
Excellent air conditioning in room which was very much required due to the heat.
Negatives..
Definitely NOT All Inclusive.. We even had to buy bottled water.
The "stocked mini bar" was 2 bottles of water on arrival with no replenishment throughout our 2 week stay. We also had to ask for towels and toilet roll even after our room had been cleaned and made up.
The choice of food was really poor and we had to constantly queue in restaurants, especially at dinner where the longest queue was for the one choice of main hot dish.
Even the A La Carte restaurant provided only one choice of menu for the whole two weeks we were there.
Although we were aware that the drinks served at the bar would be local, the choices available were very poor with no option of even paying for branded drinks. The bar staff were very temperamental and selective when it came to serving and often told us that what we had asked for was not available although others were served these drinks.
I would certainly not recommend this to anyone travelling to Turkey on an AI holiday package.

On a positive note,,, Marmaris was a very pleasant place and outside of our hotel where we often found ourselves getting decent meals, the people were very friendly and welcoming and the prices very reasonable... perhaps a better choice than All Inclusive would be self catering !!!

Room Tip: Avoid rooms on the 5th floor and ask for a poolside view if possible.

Thank you for posting your review on the tripadvisor website.
I am happy to read that you have enjoyed the hospitality of the staff whilst here in the Hotel. The Hotel also offers a 12 hour daily Guest Relation service and also has daily visits from the resort reps, the personnel here are always happy to help guests with and questions, concerns and requests and these can range from explaining the Hotel information sheet that guests receive on check-in and that are also in the Hotel room when you holidayed with us. It states here that the minibar is complimentary on arrival only (as in the Thomas Cook brochure) and that free water refill stations are available within the Hotel at breakfast until 10.30am and then in the snack bar until midnight. Housekeeping also have from 9am until 5.30pm to clean the rooms and that once the rooms have been cleaned, if the maids have run out of towels etc, they will bring to the room before 5.30pm, it may be that you had returned to your room before the maid had the opportunity to replace these items. The Hotel has an International guest base and the 14 day menu cycle reflects this as well as proudly presenting Turkish cuisine, the lunch restaurant (Four Seasons) offers 2 meat choices and 2 poultry choices as well as 1 fish whereas the evening restaurant (Diva) offers 4 meat choices, 4 poultry choices and 2 fish choices, the restaurant is on occasion busy at the beginning of the evening due to new guests arriving or guests about to depart from the Hotel and guests will queue to sample the food at the showgrill as they wait for their choice to be freshly cooked. The A La Carte restaurant as explained in the Welcome Meeting on arrival is held on two evenings each week and is a 5 course set menu which is shown to guests before they make their reservation, all guests can visit once in their holiday to enjoy a relaxing evening. The Hotel as described in the Thomas Cook brochure is a four*, Travel Companies have universal ratings when assessing properties and therefore a * rating given for one country is not equivalent to the same * rating in another, these ratings are based on guest feedback and also by Senior Managers in the UK and Overseas (as decribed in the Thomas Cook brochure under Ratings). I hope this information answers the points raised in this review and I hope that we will be able to welcome you again in the future. On behalf of the Ideal Team, I would like to thank you for choosing Grand Ideal Premium for your holiday.

I have just returned from having a 10 day holiday here and although the hotel was very nice and spotlessly clean I was a little disappointed by the fact entertainment was poor. Food choices were plentiful and very nicely laid out. Unfortunately sometimes you had to queue. Air conditioning didn't seem to work in the hotel apart from bedroom. I had 2 grandchildren with us and there really wasn't much for them to do apart from the Pool. It was a good job they could swim as none of us could stand on the bottom of the pool, It was the same depth all round. Grandson 13 Granddaughter 7. We were all inclusive , and we never seen a drinks list at the bar to let you know what they had. We enjoyed holiday but would not go out of our way to make a return trip.

Thank you for your holiday review posted on the tripadvisor website.
Thank you for your comments made on the cleanliness of the Hotel and of the choice of food available at the snack bar and restaurants. As advertised in the Thomas Cook brochure, the entertainment provided by the team is described as occasional daytime and evening entertainment usually includes games, competitions and shows, as you may be aware, the Hotel has an International guest base and the activities provided are darts, pool, aqua gym, gentle stretch, pool games, waterpolo, dance (salsa) lessons as well as a childrens activity and the evening programme consists of the kids mini disco, quizzes, bingo, competitions, blacklight show, latin dance and break dance shows and more as well as karaoke in the Black Out nightclub, all provided for guests who would like to join in.
The Hotel welcomes families as described in the Thomas Cook brochure as we provide a chilrens pool, small play area and free cots and highchairs, we do not have a kids club or Thomas Cook kids world. All details of the Hotel and its services and facilities are available in the brochure or on the Thomas Cook website, with this in mind, I do hope that we will be able to welcome you once again to our Hotel in the future and would like to thank you for choosing Grand Ideal Premium for your holiday.

I went to this hotel with two of my friends we were all 18, First impressions were good of The Grand Ideal, we were checked in, seen up to our room and the bell boy brought our cases up in less than 20 minutes, our room was on the fourth floor at the front of the hotel, I would have rather had a pool view as we found that the restaurant over the road had a singer every night around six and prayers where also being sung on a speakerphone at the same time 5 times a day, Howver, we did have a nice view of the mountains. The lift in the hotel can become annoying and you may end up using the stairs instead as there is only one, its tiny (only fits four people) and boiling, most of the time it stops at nearly every floor as well and when it stops on your floor you don't know if it's already going to be full of people . The swimming pool is big with a slide, but to get a sunbed you need to set your alarm for before 8, when my friends and I were out till early hours and slept in we ended up going to the beach one or twice (which is only a 2 minute walk) and have brunch there or just sunbathed. However. on the beach if you go to the wrong bit the sea floor is quite rocky and hurts your feet, if you walk further down the sand is softer and easier to walk on, also on the beach there is lots of water sports that you can do for a good price. Anyway, in the hotel the waiters are very friendly and get you a drink as soon as you sit down for your dinner, they also fill your glass of water up as soon as it is empty. There is lots of variety of foods that you can have that sometimes change each day. The food is really nice, I didn't find it too repetitive but I suppose it can be and you may want to go to the restaurants near by on the beach. There is lots of shops by the hotel where you can buy lots of cheap designers like Ugg boots for only £45 and designer bags, they are obviously not real but you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. The hotel is really clean and big with little shops like a mini supermarket, jewellery store and a kodak place where you can get your pictures took by a professional photographer. There is also a spa, the massages and facials are really good. The entertainment in the day and at night is good, however the girl shouting 'water gym' at 10am and blowing a whistle for half an hour while you are trying to sunbathe can get a bit annoying. At night the entertainment staff really get the children involved by providing activities and dances to do on stage from about 9pm on wards. The security is really good, you get a different colored band depending on your age and when you go out the guard will check to make sure people who are not part of the hotel don't get in, which made my friends and I feel safe. All three of us had a great time and hope to return next year!

Thank you for taking the time to share your Ideal holiday experience with others on the tripadvisor website. I am very pleased to read that you and your friends have all enjoyed the hospitality of the Hotel from the service received at check-in and the bell-boy service to the choice of food served in the snack bar and restaurants and the service received from the bar and restaurant staff. It also pleases me to read that you and your friends have felt safe within our Hotel by the Security that is provided, knowing that only guests in residence are given access, hence the importance of always wearing the wristbands provided by the Hotel on check-in. The Hotel has signs in the Hotel and around the pool asking guests not to reserve sunbeds however we do have to trust our guests to consider others as this is a known behaviour the world over in holiday destinations. The Hotel does operate a guest relations service who are always happy to help guests with any concerns or requests and will help locate sunbeds if possible. I do hope that we are able to welcome you all again in the future and on behalf of the Ideal Team, would like to thank you for choosing Grand Ideal Premium for your holiday.

just back from our holiday. i havent included photos as the photos already shown of the hotel etc more than cover it. after a 5 hour delay, and a long tedious transfer ( never again the transfer is way to far ) we finally got to our hotel 17 hours after leaving home. we had lost our 1st night so only had 6 nights.
the plus points for us were, the hotel is lovely, the main areas are stunning. always hot water, the aircon was good a def must, free safe in our room, there is a 24hr cafe which is nice to have late night coffee and a sandwich. the food was very good as was the stirfry station. very good wine. the staff are a credit to the hotel although we were ignored a few times at the bar in favour of a pretty girl ( after a generous tip from us! ) the hotel is spotless, we enjoyed the snack area and bar. the hotel is close to the shops and market on a tuesday. for a family or 18------30 then this would be a lovely hotel and holiday.
negative points are for us,
The pool there was a lot of negative remarks around the crowded ( understatement ) pool, we witnessed a few arguments from irate people as there is no personal space with the sun loungers you are def touching the other persons elbows!!!! the heat was high 40,s so a lovely dip to cool off is a must BUT not between 10.30 and 12.30 pool games and water gym take over one end and the kids slide and area is the other end. ten again at 2,30 til 4 you have water volleyball or other water games i did become rather annoyed about this as the heat was sweltering and i was told to not sit at the pool edge whilst they were playing!! i was under the impression we were on holiday BUT you have to be at the pool by 7 otherwise forget getting a bed and parasol!!! never enough parasols to go around. they should at least get a pool attendent to put mattresses out at 9 and give us hard workers a lie in!!!! we,r on holiday...... i think it would be lovely if they could use some of the dead space alongside the stage to have a quiet area with a dip pool or at least sunlounger for us not so young ( but certainly not old ) people to have a quiet time away from the loud club music that blasts from 10.30 am around the pool, it would be nice to have some local music to at least give us a clue to what country we are staying in.
The hotel is positioned not from from the beach although if the back gates were open it would save you walking right through the hotel and foyer to exit. and no there is not a bar / snacks for the hotel on the beach there is a shared section which is a 600mtr walk up the beach front just for a sunlounger ( forget that ) we were undre the impression a 4 /5 star would have at least a bar for drinks on the beach . this is the first time i have stayed in this class of hotel which hasnt had that included.
The entertainment could be better,,,,,,, musical chairs in the afternoon ok if your 5??? but not for adults lol... the eve etertainment was touch and go again not the star rating i would give having stayed mainly in 4 / 5 star.
would we return to this hotel no, but maybe we are a little past it ( 40,s ) for the younger crowd it would be fine. sorry for the negatives but it just didnt come up to my expectaions of a 4 / 5 star others on the return journey home said exactly the same.

Room Tip: we were in room 530 a lovely view of the sea, sunny position small balcony. you had to stand on a c...

Thank you for your review posted on the tripadvisor website of our Hotel. I am happy to read that you have enjoyed the hospitality of our Hotel from the decor throughout to the convenience of the free safe and also free air conditioning and mini-bar on arrival in your room. I would also like to thank you for your comments regarding the availability of the 24 hour Cafe De Paris which serves cakes and cookies throughout the day and freshly made sandwich rolls from 10pm through the night as well as beverages, hot and cold. I would also like to thank you for your appreciation of the House-keeping team regarding the cleanliness of the Hotel and grounds.
There are notices within the Hotel and around the pool regarding sunbed reservations and we have to trust our guests to consider others regarding this as it is unfortunately a behaviour of guests the world over in holiday resorts to do this however the guest relation personnel are happy to help locate beds if possible around the pool, twe do have approximately 360 sunbeds around our pool, the Hotel also has a section of the private beach at Ideal Prime Beach for our guests who can also enjoy soft drinks and sandwiches and jacket potatoes from the booths on the beach. The pool at our Hotel is one of the largest in Marmaris with the water slide at one end, the animation team provide a programme to include pool games, the slide is currently open from 10.30-12 midday at one end and the aqua gym at the other begins at 11.30am follwed by the pool game at 12 midday, the slide is on again from 2.30-4pm and then at 4pm the water-polo begins at the opposite end. The music played is off a gentle kind at 10.30am for the gentle stretch class before switching to uptempo for the aqua gym and pool game, during the lunch break it is again of more relaxed tempo before the afternoon programme begins at 2.30pm until 5pm, where again it switches to the more relaxed tempo as guests prepare for dinner, until 8.30pm mini-disco time. I hope this information provided addresses the comments made regarding the pool, beach and animation.
I do hope that we wil be able to welcome you again in the future and on behalf of the Ideal Team, would like to thank you for choosing Grand Ideal Premium for your holiday.
