TUI SENSIMAR Marmaris Imperial Hotel

This was our second week after a cruise we needed a week to relax and this hotel offers everything it says. The hotels theme is couples. Location and views excellent food out of this world. If you want a romantic setting with spectacular sunsets every evening this is the place to be. We thought the food on the cruise was exceptional but with all the cooking stations this hotel matched in quality. We stayed in room 106 which was on the lower level so glad we was not in the 700 s as the steps were very steep. Room 106 was opposite the quiet pool but just a short stroll to all the other amenities. rooms very clean and comfortable air con very quiet. Fishing from the jetty was great fun you can hire tackle from reception. On the down side entertainment very low key but with it being a couples hotel it was very easy to make friends. All in all a great holiday

Room Tip: Rooms in the 100's as the higher the number the more steps to climb

The hotel/holiday was brilliant the hotel was lovely and clean, food and drink was great with a wide range of choice with local foods available, the whole complex was in a beautiful setting and with lots to do on site, but away from the main town so was nice and peaceful but not too far away from anything, all the staff couldn't do enough for you, always smiling and friendly especially Eddie from the bar staff who was always bubbly and helpful, the rooms were nice and well decorated, the hotel in general exceeded expectations and couldn't fault it, had a brilliant time and would struggle to match that holiday for the money.

Arrived at 10.30pm and even though we asked for a low room we counted 132 steps !!!! Hotel reception staff are not the best at english so i would recommend speaking with the rep who is on site everyday to liase for you... I personally do not understand the hype of this hotel - 1st night flies in the salad when we complained the waiter (wait for it) tossed the salad together with flies intact!!! and then walked away... The hotel has lots of tip boxes hanging around and if you tip them personally they are your'e best friend - if not WAIT YOU'RE TURN. I know this is the case in most all inclusive hotels but staff should treat all customers the same. Maybe we were spoilt by a great 5 star hotel last year (not Turkey) for a similar price... On the upside, the pool area had gorgeous surroundings and fishing off the jetty was a must. The Dulmus runs every 30 mins to Marmaris for 3 lira 25 (1.20) and then every 5 mins to Ichmeler which was lovely xx if i'm going spend this type of money again i am not going to return to tukey - cape verde or mexico for me xxx

A secluded, quiet, relaxed place, The Imperial offers everythign one could wish for on a holiday.

A great location (despite its distance from the airport - we took a separate taxi for each one and a half hour leg of the transfer - wee bit more expensive but worth it to arrive before the coach and in relative comfort), great staff and a very comfy hotel which looks quite new despite its age.

The pools are clean and quiet - though the daily quiz and activities are quite fun at one of the pools. The food is terrific (and any reviews here which claim the food is not good should be discounted - if you cannot find something you like or enough of it then you are a) over-picky, b) rude, c) over-weight or, more than likely, all three) and the staff were accomodating and friendly.

We had incredible weather and that, along with the wonderful views over the water made for a beautiful stay.

We hired biked from the hotel and cycled over 25 miles on two occasions - to see the port of Marmaris and then beyond to Icjmeler and Turunc. The former is beautiful - so is the latter but not worth the gruelling 1300 foot climb up a steep mountain!

Rooms were clean and comfortable and though there are a lot of steps (143 from reception to our room!), this worked off some of the food! And if you are not able to walk those steps (we were admittedly on the highest room), they will arrange a buggy for transport.

The one small gripe? The a la carte restaurant was not quite as good as we had been led to believe. The problem may be that the rest of the food is so good that to raise the bar would be tricky....but it may be worth the hotel putting that extra bit of effort in there to make it an aspirational evening.

Well done

Room Tip: Rooms are great - views from the higher ones are exceptional but balance this against the climb home...

This hotel is an absolute perfect example of Turkish hospitality, it was a pleasure to be a guest there from start to finish.
My fiance and I were there for a week and enjoyed every minute, the food is varied and delicious, the rooms and resort are immaculately clean. The harbor and private beach was breathtaking and the pool was just as good.
There were ample sunbeds so no need to get up early to reserve beds.
The entertainment was good, around the activity pool was music and there were shows and movies shown on the beach and in the ampetheatre.
We were in room 601 which was more or less the further room away, there were 146 steps and sharp inclines so it is not suitable for people with walking difficulties however you could hire the buggies for a small tip.
The younger Thomson rep (I think her name was Sarah) was disappointing as her knowledge of the resort was lacking and she gave us wrong information regarding some aspects of the holiday.
The hotel is slightly secluded by means that it is not withing walking distance to anything.
However you could get a Water taxi or a Dolmus to Marmaris and from there you could go pretty much anywhere.
The excursions are varied and plentiful we did the Rhodes trip which was fantastic and the Dalyan Check Out which was also amazing.
The only problem was that the rep said it was a 10 minute journey from the stop off hotel after the excursion, it was more like 50 as we had to stop of at 2 other hotels which we were not told about.
A couple of warnings though: Dalaman airport is an absolute nightmare, the staff are so slow at booking in its unbelievable they are also incredibly unorganised and everything in the airport is incredibly overpriced.
Also be wary of what currency you have before you go as alot of shops prefer Euro and some accept GBP, we found you could haggle a better price if you used these currencies.

All in all the hotel is beautiful and the staff are friendly, the food is lovely and the drink is good as well.

P.S the Spa/Hamman is worth a look as well the treatments are very good and competitively priced. Also the watersports area is good as well, they offer kayaking, canoeing paragliding and you can also rent a boat ect.

Room Tip: Unless you like a hard walk ask for a room lower down the hill.

We got back this morning at 4AM, I had to write this review at once......WHY ? ................ because it was one of my most Relaxing holidays ever,WHY ? ............ because the staff, food & hotel were absolutly brilliant.I was a tad disapointed with the Entertainment side of things,it needed a wee bit off Umph injected into the acts.Thats all that was lacking, everything else was fantasic.

The Relax pool ! Where all you do is Relax, go to the pool bar and relax a bit more, wonderful. Get your blue towels down early ! Then theres the activity pool, thats where the entertainment is ,a pool quiz, some background music, rest of time it's at the the Breeze Bar so no shortage of refreshments, lots of free cold water in fridges dotted around.

Then theres the beach, which to be fair we didn't bathe there as we prefered the pools, you have a snack bar there where the lady makes fresh Turkish pancakes every day, sweet and savoury, they're yummy. You have decking all the way around the beach area with plenty of paded sunbeds, there's loads spare too,so you dont have to fight over them.If you sun bath at the beach use pleny of sun cream, even in the shade, my partner turned himself into a lobster !

I do not understand why people complain about the food, who goes on a sun holiday for the food anyway. With so much choice at every seating I do not believe there wouldn't be anything to suit your taste. Some people have mentioned watered down drinks, the beer they serve at the hotel, if purchased elsewhere, tastes completely different, draw your own conclusions.
We went to Rhodes for the day trip, lots of shops in the old town, very friendly, throughly recommend that trip.On our last day we did the Dalayan check out,Fantastic ! Visit to see traditional Turkish carpets being hand made, Mud bath, Sulphur pools, boat trip, Turtle beach and an evening stay at a hotel 20 mins from the airport. Perfect end to a perfect week, only wished we had booked two !

Room Tip: We had a suite it was massive for two of us but its worth it,its on the lower level , meaning you do...

First time visit to Turkey, first week in June, couldn't have picked a better hotel. Very hot and a bit on the humid side, with wall to wall sunshine :) Selected this hotel being adults only for peace and quiet! Stayed in Suite 801 which was situated close to reception, restaurants etc and had an amazing view from the balcony. This is a large hotel with beautiful gardens and walkways to chalet syle accommodation dotted around the grounds. Golf buggies are available for less fit holiday makers, we found walking a joy after relaxing by the pool all day and after dining at night. Food in the main restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner was amazing, so much choice and of course focused on adult dining. Chefs cooked outside infront of you,to your order, never had a bad meal, vegetarian options available, plenty of fresh fruit and colourful salads, not to mention the sweets selection which was just toooo tempting! Must give a mention to our super waiter Kadir who looked after us all week and also restaurant manager Sunny. Late lunches 2-4pm can be taken at the Harmony snack bar which had a pier like seating over the water where fish can be seen swimming around. We camped by the Relax pool which was about 100 yards away from our room and enjoyed drinks from the bar and was looked after by lovely barman Sunneymann who liked to help me out with my Turkish phrases! Free canoes are available by the waters edge, no booking required, all day, again amazing to be on the water with lovely views of surrounding countryside and Marina nearby. Would definitely recommend this hotel for excellent food, peace and quiet, relaxation, sun and almost forgot the brilliant resident The Undercovers who were two English very talanted musicians who sang by request and made our first night the Best Ever! Thank you for a marvellous holiday Marmaris Imperial.

Room Tip: Room 801 was a suite with 1double bed with a/c and large ensuite bathroom and balcony, 2 twin beds w...
