“fantastic relaxing honeymoon”
Reviewed 1 September 2012

this was our honeymoon location and it was fantastic. it is somewhere where you can relax and spend quality time with each other. the food was great, freshly cooked and plenty for everyone. the staff are superb and very friendly, there is both daytime activites and evening entertainment with pleanty of areas to get away from this is this isnt what you want. there is a bus stop just outside the hotel if you want to go to town but the hotel also run a water taxi from their private pier also. people do sometimes moan about the steps on here but its set on a hillside and thats the price you pay for the view and location. their is the option of transport in the form of golf carts that the hotel operate to both pick you up and take you back to you room if you need what more can you ask for.
the weather was fantastic and the water lovely and warm and crystal clear.
I would reccommend this holiday/hotel to anyone and wouldnt hesitate to rebook ourselves

Superb location, but too many steps, thank you for the roadways, otherwise I would not have la stayed the week. Food excellent, staff in the Olympus Restaurant superb. The Harmony (even though you have to pay) super and the Turkish a la carte (same staff as the Harmony) second to none. Overall our 39th wedding anniversary holiday was good. Shame the Buggy Driver let us down on our anniversary (nasty person) I'm not the only one to say this.

Room Tip: If you struggle with steps, ask for a room at level 1, ie room 103 or 104, my room was 424, far too...

Definitely a great location, but the hotel was let down by the entertainment - we expected 'low key', we got poolside music from 10am and from then on wall to wall organised games etc. fortunately there was a 'Relax pool' with no music, and the beach was lovely and quiet. The all inclusive package included plenty of food (in a canteen-like atmosphere), but nothing particularly Turkish - and the local cocktails and wine were pretty poor The views from our room overlooking the yacht marina were stunning and we'd recommend the 'Sunset Cruise'.
Thomson have their couples logo everywhere - even on the signs for the WCs (intersting!!) yet on departure, when 2 pax failed to show for the airport transfer, there wasn't a Rep in sight - neither was there on arrival when we were checked into a double room having been assured a twin. Luckily Thomson's 24/7 hotline were fantastic. We talked to other guests who said they'd return - frankly this call-sign is avoiding Thomson/First Choice in the future.

The location is good and far enough to get to the town by bus that stops outside the gate of hotel.
A lot of steps to your room, but well worth it as you have a view.

The reception staff were okay, but could do with brushing up on their customer care skills, but overall good service.

All inclusive was good, but did not like the fact that people would reserve there seats before sitting down and towards the end of the week, felt like a production line following everyone else.

Entertainment in the evening was good in the emporium, but could of been better in the bar area.

Rooms were lovely with a big shower, rooms could be updated but were lovely, quiet and comfortable.

Beware you need to reserve also your lounger for the beach as others get there early about 7am.

Overall good, relaxing holiday.

Fantastic location. Peaceful environment.
Water sports good. The sunset powerboat cruise was absolutely great.
The room and communal areas if the hotel I expected to be spotless from what I had heard; This was not the case.....
The floor in our room (512) had not been cleaned for some time; it made feet dirty to walk on it. Food crumbs under the TV unit and sticky residue in the waste bin (from previous guests) caused ants to visit our room.
Our room ran out of shower gel 5 days before end of stay but was never replenished even though we left the dispenser wide open to highlight it. Other guests we spoke to seemed impressed with their room service so clearly this varies dependant on your maid.
Our AC unit dripped water down onto our tea making stuff and down wall onto electrical sockets. We went to reception and reported this and the lady said "is that all" to which I replied "isn't that enough" and she then said that she would "send a technician to our room".
When we got back to our room the driipping had stopped but we were left with soaking wet tea bags.
The communal areas were not kept as clean as we expected.....
The poolside floor areas were dirty with bird droppings gradually being eroded over 3 to 4 days by the splashes from the pool. Dirty drinks glasses and cups could often be seen from the night before beyond 11am the next day. One morning at the sunbeds I saw a water bottle on the floor that someone had clearly used to urinate in, it was still there at 10am!
Under the tables at the poolside was dusty and dirty and around the sunbeds drinks spillages were sticky underfoot. This overall lack of attention on cleaning made the pool and Breeze Bar area and popular wasp and fly attraction.
In the restaurant the food was very good but service at the tables almost non existent. We were offered hot drinks at breakfast once out of twelve and never got served wine, beer or cold drinks. It seems for your five star price tag waiter service is not included.
Whilst the staff seem to have an obsession with removing plates from under your noses actually cleaning and dressing tables for reuse is not a priority. Most days we had clear the crumbs and debris to get ourselves a table.
During our stay it was fair to say some of the staff we came into contact with were excellent, however as many seemed to either not care much or lack the guidance and leadership to deliver the level of service that this hotel warrants.
There seems to be an increased need for supervision throughout the hotel. Afterall it's attention to the details that will ultimately make this place memorable.
A couple of details that perhaps the management should have noticed....
Guests start to drift back from sunbeds to rooms from about 4:30pm yet towel exchange opens an hour too late.
The hotel and reps boast that we need not worry about the rooms being up over 100 steps as buggies are available to take and collect us. The reality for us was that buggies are parked up near reception with nobody in sight to drive you. So you ask at reception and are left to wait for a driver to appear. If the hotel were serious about this service there would be someone allocated and with the buggies, thus making the service fully available not one you felt a nuisance asking for.

In summary a lovely hotel in a fantastic, beautiful and peaceful location. But failing to justify the 4 or 5 star price tag.
This hotel could be so much more with a bit of focus!
It could also continue to receive inconsistent reviews.
Let's hope hope it's not the latter ....

we stayed at marmaris imperial when it was known as club magic life back in september 2010 and thought the hotel was fabulous!
We arrived in marmaris to be met by a private taxi company who took us to the hotel there we were met with welcome cocktails whilst checking in then a buggy took us to our room which overlooked the resort and own private beach the rooms were sort of huts nestled up in the hills of the resort lovely and relaxing. The food was amazing and turkish resturant was to die for this needed to be booked though as it filled up rather fast!
The pools were spotless as was the private beach, the staff couldnt do enough for you and made our stay!
would definatly return to this hotel perfect chill out holiday!
