We had a great stay and will return. As well as agreeing with the many other glowing endorsements of this hotel I would add the following:

* the tea and coffee in the room is good for a couple of drinks but you must then replenish yourself
* hotel towels are available for a small deposit but they can't be changed and are a bit on the small side (and thin)
* immediately facing the hotel (main road) is the Ozturk Hotel, family run and serves great coffee
* If you fancy a boat trip try the HARIKA boat near Aturturk's staue in the Old Town. Good value, friendly and reliable
* if you are a football fan try and find the Man Utd, Liverpool and Rangers bars behind the Cheers bar (about 15 - 20 minutes walk along the sea front into town). Even if you aren't it's worth a gape!

Room Tip: Avoid if you can the Dora Beach hotel side - they can be loud.

We were lucky enough to get one of the 5th floor rooms and I think made our holiday seem more luxurious than it would had we been on another floor, the rooms are the best we have experienced in a 4* anywhere outside of the UK. The hotel is absolutely spotless and the food generally good but we stayed half board and as with all hotels it got quite repetitive so we ate out quite a bit in the second week.
The Dora Park music didn't bother us too much but it really riled some and one lady even had a stand up row with the hotel owner over it. It starts mid afternoon and switched right down at midnight.
Restaurant staff were great but what did rile us was the dictatorial attitude of the senior pool bar staff, it was quite frankly rude and ignorant. People were chased to their sunbeds etc if they thought drinks bought next door were going to be drunk at the pool (people were buying them to go in the room fridges) Accused of taking towels from bar seats when they had paid to hire them from reception, the pool was supposed to be open until 7pm but by 6pm you were made to feel uncomfortable for wanting to stay longer and they would clear every single bed around you to almost shame you into leaving. I could write all day over this rude attitude but think I've said enough. The hotel was extremely quiet as was the whole area according to the bar/restaurant owners and the pool bar was virtually empty every night so you would think a more polite and welcoming attitude would have been appropriate.
All that said, would we go back? Yes we would, but only if guaranteed a 5th floor room, b&b only and would probably bathe on the beach rather than by the pool.

Room Tip: Request 5th floor it really is a cut above the rest

Just spent a week at this hotel and cannot find anything other than "superb" to say. Great location on the sea front but not in the noisy strip.Lovely views, great breakfasts(we only stayed bed and breakfast as we like to eat at local resturants)great staff, clean, well furnished .What else is there to say-try this hotel you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Apart from those at the front of the hotel all the rooms seemed to have great views over the bay and...

My husband and I have just returned from 2 weeks at the sunrise hotel, we are return customers to this hotel, and find the standards there to be absolutely first class, this is the case from everything to is location, to the food, to the cleanliness.
We had e-mailed before our visit to again upgrade to a sea veiw room at the front, and organised to pay the extra on arrival, and were delighted with our room. We unpacked, got organised, and headed off for dinner, however when we returned we couldn't beleive how loud the music was from the hotel next door (Dora Beach), even with the balcny door closed it was far too loud. Deciding that we couldn't put up with this for a fortnight, we approched reception to ask to change rooms,
The 2 men behind the desk were quite abrupt in their refusal to move us, we could move in the morning to a quiter room. We tried to point out that they would all be quiet in the morning, could we at least be shown another room to see if it was any quieter at night? No we couldn't... We went upstairs and figured we would have to wait till morning, about 15mins later there was a knock on the door, and one on the men on reception had arrived with another key, and took us to see another room, which was much better, we ended up moving about mid night, can't say it was the best start to a holiday,
We approched reception the next morning to explain what had happened, and to have the money refunded we had paid for the upgrade. The lady on reception was very frosty with us, and tried to tell my husband taht as we had a side sea view room, this would be extra anyway. My husband pointed out that he didn't feel we should be charged extra, as we didn't ask for a particular room, just a quieter room, and frankly after the incovienece of having to pack and move to un pack again, they should be apologising to us! We spoke to more tahn one person who was unhappy with the noise, it is a shame that a brilliant hotel like this has the misfortune to have the Dora beach next to it.
We would go back to the sunrise hotel, this hotel has everything going for it, location, beach, food, cleanliness, but if you want a bit of peace and quiet ask for a room on the side of the hotel facing the Grand Azur.
Aside from that the the holiday was fabulous, a few must visit places to eat are Samdans, across from the hotel, Taj Mahal & The mandarin, Fellinis(an absolute must), and go to Icemeler for an evening and go to Chef, great food, fabulous staff, and the chef is a star,

We stayed half board for a week before joining a cruise and loved it. Agree with a previous review about the perpetual music volume heard from the Dora hotel next door. Caused us to change our room to the opposite side of the hotel, although they now seem to turn it off at midnight. Don't be put off, the Sunrise is a cracking hotel and we shall be back again I'm sure. Food is excellent and the location is perfect. If you want a bit of shopping or supermarket, etc, all on doorstep. One of the best beach holidays we've had. Well done Sunrise!

Room Tip: Sea view to front and rooms to the left side higher floors , especially 5th floor are best.
