I stayed here on 20th August 2011..Soykan Hotel is a freindly lovely place.I have been every year..They are my family..Never money problem never any problem..MR and Miss Soykan nice people..Now theyre grandchildren controlled to hotel so some chancing. Also hotel is very clean including the pool staff are friendly even though mr and mrs soykan don't speak very much 5 mins away from beach and bars/restaurants. free wifi. you can use hotel computers..Rooms cleaned every other day with fresh towels, the standard of cleanliness is excellent. Balconys are lovely with room for table and chairs. Pool is very big compared to other pools in turkey..The hotel kitchen is very clean has got kind of food..Soykan bar has got a lot of alcohol and coctail also you can change music on the bar what you want..Beer vodka gin coctail very cheap other the marmaris hotels.outside also expensive so be carefull..there was always a Soykan family member on hand to help you with anything you needed, and they really went the extra mile to make sure you had the best holiday. You can watch TV football match big Tv..And if you learn about Marmaris night life bar street disco you can ask mr mss soykans grandchildren soykan(23)&dundar(23) they can help you..maybe they can bring you car or motobike:) they helpfull people..So i will go next year again..but they are changing tour agency..

I have just returned from Marmaris after staying at the Soykan for 2 glorious weeks with my sister-in-law. This family run hotel is wonderful, Mr and Mrs Soykan and their lovely family cannot do enough for you, so friendly. Rooms cleaned every other day with fresh towels, the standard of cleanliness is excellent. Balconys are lovely with room for table and chairs. Pool is very big compared to other pools in turkey. there was always a Soykan family member on hand to help you with anything you needed, and they really went the extra mile to make sure you had the best holiday. The rooms are lovely, and the bathroom is spotless, hot water all day and night. I cannot recommend this hotel enough and we will be returning next year TWICE!!. Also 5 mins from beach and resort centre, location is ideal. Marmaris is a lovely resort, very lively and the people are so friendly, special mention to Serken, Morat and Mustaf, you guys are great, very cheap to eat out, Tasty Bites is worth a visit, just off beach front. See you all in May! and September!.

Room Tip: Any room you get, you will be pleased with.

After speaking to the majority of people staying here, we all had the same impression! When we 1st arrived the hotel was a massive shock after reading all the good reviews. BASIC was an understatement. Our shower/toilet and sink may aswell of been all in one as u could sit on the toilet and have a shower ( quite handy sitting down and shaving your legs) the bedroom was litrally a bed a wardrobe and a cupboard. That is it. BUT.... Its actually quite nice, mr and mrs soykan are really friendly ( speak very little english ) the people around the pool are friendly, it is very clean, its in a great location and its cheap!! ... Its clearly not a 5* hotel it miten even be a 1* but it is what it is! We have got used to it! The aircon gives you a cold, and smells of damp! But... You get what you pay for...

There are good and bad points about this hotel....

Good points:
- hotel is very clean including the pool.
- staff are friendly even though mr and mrs soykan don't speak very much.
- 5 mins away from beach and bars/restaurants.
- free wifi.

Bad points:
- room is very basic, no fridge or kettle for bed & breakfast however self catering there is.
- shower is poor, soaks the whole bathroom which is annoying at times.
- breakfast is absolutely terrible, we only had it once as all it consisted of were bread and boiled eggs, however across the road at angels inn an English breakfast is only 5 lira.
- there are some points around the pool which are in the shade after 2pm which is not very good for sunseekers.
- no entertainment in the hotel at night but the bar is open.

Overall I would come back again if I were looking for a last minute cheap holiday like I did this year.
