“Tekin Apartments... What a pleasure!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2013

Having just returned from a 2 week stay at the Tekin the only word I can use to describe it is ‘AMAZING’..!!

Travelling as a party of 3 people we arrived at the Tekin around 11pm, to be welcomed by the night reception guy and another chap called ‘Timocee’ who proceeded to help me get my luggage up to my room (202). The night reception guy could not have been more helpful, organising both air conditioning and a safety deposit box with seconds of our arrival. The air conditioning is £4 a night but that is little cost considering we had 40 degree heat to deal with and it proved to be a god send! Our room was basic but very clean and spacious with a fantastic view overlooking the pool area and then onto the beach and sea. The rooms are cleaned on a daily basis and the bed linen/towels changed approx every 3 days. The maids themselves were lovely ladies, very polite and helpful, even with limited English..

The Tekin is perfectly situated just sat back off both the main road and beach, the beach itself is a mere stones throw away, which is very handy when breaking up your time on a 2 week trip!

The pool is a good size and there is a baby pool for the children to use which is ideal. The pool bar itself is top quality offering a wide range of drinks and snacks pretty much 20 hours a day. Chanel and Rambo who run the pool bar are 2 of the nicest guys you would like to meet. There is nothing that these 2 wouldn’t do for you, no matter how big or small. True gentlemen! Rambo is more the joker of the 2 with Chanel a lot more laid back and chilled!

One thing I did notice is the Tekin seems to have a lot of return customers year in year out which can only show just what a top quality hotel it is. Some people have been returning to the Tekin for over 15 years! If that isn’t a glowing recommendation then I don’t what is…?!

All I can say is what a great hotel, great staff (Chanel, Rambo, Ali, Guni, Yuksel, Ibo and of course the night reception guy) and a real pleasure to stay at! I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Marmaris and I shall most definitely be returning next year!

10 out 10 all the way!

I stayed at the Tekin Apartments from the 1-7th August. We arrived at 2am tired and ready for bed. The young man on the reception took our passport and gave us our key offering no directions to our room. I asked for air conditioning upon arrival. It cost £28 for the week.

Tekin Positives:
*Rooms were spacey and minimal.
*Balcony's were large with enough space for four people.
*Rooms and hotel was secure with 24hr reception.
*Basic but clean kitchen area. Kitchen contained fridge/freezer, hob, utensils, toaster etc.
*Location I perfect. You have less than 3min walk to the beach.
*Taxi rank is right outside the door if you wish to use them.
*We were fortunate to be able to keep our room on (as we had a late flight). The latest we had to be out the room for was 16:30. It cost £10 to keep your room on.

Tekin Negatives:
*Maids changed our towels ONCE in 7days. Simply not good enough for a Thompson apartment.
*Air Conditioning cost £28 for the week. It was completely useless. The air con was in the living area which left nothing for the bedroom.
*Pool area. What can I say? Guests towels were left out 24hrs a day leaving other guest with no option but to avoid the pool. This is particularly annoying as with anything in life it should be first come first serve. Very disappointed in the pool area. I didn't go near the pool during my stay at the Tekin.

With some TLC and general hotel rules these apartments could be perfect!!! Would I stay at the Tekin again? Probably not. I loved Marmaris and all it had to offer and would return to the resort

Room Tip: I stayed in room 109 facing a car park. Ask for a pool or sea view it will make all the difference.

Arrived at 3.30am with 2 adults and 4 kids, was just asked our name and for our passports and given key, no explanation as to where our rooms were and no help getting there despite having luggage and a pushchair!
Went down at 8am to get some sun beds, beware! people leave towels overnight so we was lucky to get 2, then on second day we left pool at 5.30pm and went to dinner at 8pm and some rude people moved our towels and put theirs there, as we moved them back he started shouting at us claiming he put them there at 4pm, when we explained that we left after they said oh it must have been 6.30 and the pool man must have done it! When we complained to staff they just kept saying room number? The pool does not have enough beds for the amount of holiday makers also the pool is open for use to the public so this could be the cause of lack of beds! Was very disappointed as heard great reviews about friendly staff but found this is not the case!
Papillon restaurant and tiffanys are great for food, you will be hassled by places and offered freebies but these will still appear on your bill!
Rooms are basic but you get what you pay for!
There are 2 pools a baby one and a bigger one, which is small but as is the case when close to the beach however the shallow end is 1.57m so not good if your vertically challenged!
Don't feel beach is aimed at families as each hotel/restaurant has its own beach section and to use it you must by drinks or food from there!
Great location would definitely return but just not to Tekin!

We arrived in the early hours of the morning and our check-in was quick and easy.
The rooms are spacious and light, with 2 sofa beds in living room and 2 single beds (pushed together) in the bedroom. in the kitchenette area there was a full sized fridge, a 2 ring hob, a toaster and kettle with plenty of crockery and cutlery. (we didn't use it as we ate out every breakfast and evening). In the living room there is a coffee table and a round dinner table with 4 chairs which can be used for balcony or dinner table. The rooms are very clean and the cleaners come around every day and do each room daily. there is a change of towels and linen every few days but the room is cleaned and bins emptied daily. In the bathroom there is a shower cubicle which is nearly a twin size cubicle. The Air con was a welcome facility in the heat we experienced.

The Hotel location is ideal being on a side road just off the main road and only a few steps from the beach. The hotel is over a barbers/hairdressers, it is opposite a 24 hr shop and 24 hr mcdonalds, outside a taxi rank, and above Papillon restaraunt.

The reception desk offers a currency exchange service with no commission charges and reasonable rates. There is also a computer for internet use you can pay to use in the reception area and also free wifi within the building and around the pool area.

There is only 1 small lift but as there is only 44 rooms this is adequate although a little hot to use at times.

The pool area has several sun loungers but you have to get to them early before they are all taken. the pool bar has very friendly staff. Rambo and Chanel are both lovely people and very welcoming. The food served at the pool bar is lovely and the drinks are cheap.

All in all its a very basic hotel but for the price you pay you cannot expect anything more. I went in a group of 11 family and friends and no-one of us has a bad word to say about the place.

Cannot wait to visit next year.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 405 which had nice views of the sea and beach but also views of the main road and...

Returned home early hours yesterday;-( missing it already!! Central location, it's not 20 steps to the beach, supermarket across from it, hairdresser/barbers underneath, across road from macdonalds, papillon restaurant also underneath which served nice food;-) rooms was spacious with large balcony, we was on 2nd floor facing road which could be noisy, but we took earplugs n slept well, maids in everyday, staff was lovely especially the lads on pool bar, prices for snacks/drinks not expensive, no hair dryer in room though, also got to be a problem with people leaving towels on sun beds over night. Would definitely recomend x

I have just returned from a weeks stay at Tekin, and I'm already looking to book for next month! I went with 2 friends, and we all have no bad words to say about Tekin. Staff so friendly and helpful, rooms spacious and clean. Very basic but for the price you can't complain.. Very small an friendly hotel, but would want to stay again! Resturant down the street Tiffanys, great food lovely staff.. We ate there nearly every day and spent most days using their sun loungers! One of the best holidays ever, can't wait to go back!
