Green Nature Resort & Spa
Ranked #32 of 234 Hotels in Marmaris
Reviewed 21 April 2013

We stayed as a family for 8 nights from the 5th of April. No big complaints or anything but this stay was what could be the definition of ‘average’.

PROPERTY AND STAY: When we landed late at night, the reception staff could not find the booking done through Thomas Cook. But the duty manager was kind enough to immediately put us at ease – ‘Go have some soup and snacks while we sort this out’ – and as we came back, everything was indeed sorted out. Nice guy, hope more were like him.

FOOD AND DRINKS: Food was average, sort of repetitive and except for some interesting decorative pieces, above average. Local drinks were included and except for the Raki (the delicious local drink), it was as usual watered down.

SERVICES: Most of the staff were just doing stuff as defined in the job description. No smiles no greetings, even the initiated greetings were responded with a semi-smile or a mutter. Ah Quality Standards, where are you leading us to…

ANIMATION TEAM: For the first five nights there was bingo, bingo, bingo, karaoke and bingo. We started wondering if we have really landed in “The Best Marigold Hotel for the Elderly and Beautiful”. Sixth night there was a supposedly comedy show. When you have an international audience, racial bits like Japanese committing hara-kiri is NOT in good taste – and the other ‘drag’ acts were also drab. The only people laughing were the animation team. But a 5-min performance by a break dance group made the evening worthwhile. Next night there was a dance show by the animation team ‘Grease’ – with very good dancing by 4 boys and 2 girls and half a dozen others going through motions. The biggest obstacle for them was since this was beginning of the season, they could not use the open-air amphitheatre so they had to perform in a ‘meeting room’ without a stage or even a curtain. The audience were also noisy and unruly. But there was a sparkle of talent and that felt good. The last evening was again bingo. Wasn’t there supposed to be a ‘Turkish’ night once a week?

SPA: Passable and reasonably priced (compared to prices in UK). There was just one female therapist and a couple of male ones. They were ok.

TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS:

1. Marmaris has some SPECTACULAR sea views and locations. But to clarify, if you have seen the advertisements on London transport (sample uploaded) and thinking of a sandy beach with a background of a hillock, this is not that place. Beach is 30-50 feet of gravel between the water and shore. For every 100 sqft of seafront there are 727000 sqft of Beach resorts. Every second restaurant on the main street offers English breakfast, Bradford curries and football on TV. If you are the type that does not want to miss your football, fish and chips and bingo, this is a dream come true. Otherwise…

2. There are some great locations near by – Icmeler, Dalyan, Turtle Beach etc. – and there are pretty decent daily tours. We enjoyed every trip we took. The beach front promenade from Marmaris town to Icmeler (little over 10 km) is brilliant and the walk offers some very unique and spectacular views.

3. The property is bang in the middle of a residential area on three sides. The sea view they talk about from the room is more a sea glimpse.

Green Nature is a well set up resort, particularly for families (there are a *lot* of kids around). It's close to the beach but a fair walk from town. Most of the guests seemed content to stay close to the (very nice) pool, which is what the place is set up for.
The rooms are basic and a bit dated, but everything works ok. The showers are nice (heaps of hot water and good pressure), but the beds are only passable. A "double" bed consists of two singles pushed together, which really annoyed me.
The food is good - lots of options for salad and quite nice meat dishes (mostly chicken and a bit of turkey), and the breakfasts have lovely pastries. The all-inclusive package includes food basically nonstop from 7am to late evening, which is handy if you're out a lot. The range of drinks, including alcohol, is limited but since they're free no one seemed to be complaining.
In general the staff were helpful, but a bit pushy for tips (porters, I'm looking at you). Reception staff were great, and happy to make phone calls to tour companies/transfers on our behalf, which we really appreciated.
The spa is nice but pricey, and be prepared to pay extra for basics like a room safe and pool towels (just a deposit for towels). Otherwise, it's a nice place to stay with a really relaxing atmosphere and I'd happily go back.

Everything was amazing the staff are very friendly ad speak amazing english, if u try and speak turkish to them they really aprechiate it and become more friendly and helpful.
all meals were stunning wide variety of choice. the entertainment team were great very friendly and fun to be around.
will deff be saving to go again.

only fault which is none of the hotels but if you go on the horse safari you will all be put on ponys, very cruel and not a comfy ride as you will be way too big for them

Well where to start other than just a great place to stay, we had a large party including 6 children from ages 4 /14. On arrival we had a problem with the rooms but it was sorted in 20 to 30 mins with no fuss.
Food excellent- basic foundation of foods eg salads, cold meats, cheeses, fruit, cereals but if you take the time to explore all food stations you will find a new variety each day which included fresh fish, chicken cook in a variety of ways, stir frys and a personal fav,veg in batter-you have to be prepared to look and try everything unlike some i over heard who could not find the cereal as it was not in boxes.
Must make a point of how freindly and helpful the staff are and the entertainment team where exceptional.
If i had to give a negative comment it would be the tiled floor when wet is slippery take care when wearing flip -flops.
We are saving for next year as it was just amazing
Also try the local Barber for a wet shave only appox £3-50 well worth it.

Room Tip: Did not grade the spa as we did not use it ask for pool facing room if possible

Nice Hotel, Found it to be over a large area but mostly flat... large pools and nice rooms... staff are nice enough but bar staff can be stressed due to the amount of people staying at any one time... The food is uninspired, repetitive, and often cold....... cheap enough out of the busy times We all like to get away from the All-Inc from Time to Time ....if you come out the back door..turn right..then left..at the bottom of the road on the right side corner is..No Name Bar And Restaurant... Ran by T.J. from the Samdan Rest...pop in and see him...His food and manners are second to none...and now he has Derman from The Emporium working there....one of the best dancers you will see.... They will also tell you the best places to go..i.e.. boat trips...Jeep Safari ..Shows Etc..When you eat there you will return before you go home... if you go to No Name mention us and tripadvisor and please leave a comment on tripadvisor when you return home...Bebe n Eddie Hampton....Dundee.

Room Tip: pool view if possible
