“HONEST REALISTIC OBJECTIVE REVIEW”
Reviewed 5 July 2011

First of all to be clear we stayed in the Grand Cettia hotel, below this hotel is the Club Cettia Resort.. you can use facilities in both. Me and my partner went all inclusive, im 32 he is 40..He liked the food as did i but it was repetitive, and by day two i woke up with flu (which was going around) and really bad stomach, i was being sick for 2 days and im unsure whether it was the food or maybe sunstroke? There was a good amount of options of food, pasta, rice, salads, dips, fruit.. mainly melon, and then different kinds of meat but after a couple of days you realise the seasonings are very similar and it can become tedious. The all inclusive is great for families as you dont need to worry about paying for drinks for children etc..We however realised that as it was so hot and beautiful weather wise, that the all inclusive alcohol was pointless as by the time we wanted to have a drink around 10.30 pm the bar charges at 11pm so we lost out financially Ididnt end up eating their food after day 3 due to being sick of the same tasting meats, in fact the smell made me heave.. but that was because i was ill. The food i would say is more 3 star, the hotel was lovely and clean no compliants at all and staff were nice but a few bar men were very poor in their english so when i wanted to order fresh orange instead of the incessant cordial they kept serving they just looked at me blanklyand in the end i just gave up and got water. They dont do 'fresh' juice anyway..i found out later.
The pool area is smaller than you would expect but it was nice, if you want luxury conditions you need to go to a quieter complex as the entertainment team are amature and the do the sundance every day round the pool but they are no trouble they are great with the children.. by the way we never once heard any one say "dirty dirty" as some reviewers wrote. Karaoke is on every night in the tiny tiny sherlock holmes bar, this is pointless as the sound system is very poor also. It is more like a bunch of young lads have got together and self indulge in their own attention seeking, not really geared up for real hospitality. But again they were good with the guests, reguarly took hotel guests to 'bar street' which is very expensive.
The hotel is a short walk into the main strip of bars and restaurants, we walked no problem although this is as i wore flats instead of heels, otherwise a taxi costs between 7-12 lira.
I feel a lot of the turkish/kurdish try to see anyway possible to take extra cash from you. I over spent and feel as i had wasted over 200 pounds per person for the sake of going all inclusive with this hotel. My advice is yeah stay there if you dont mind a lively family atmosphere, but dont bother going all inclusive the food in the restaurants is so cheap you can have a decent meal and drinks for 30 quid for two elsewhere in most places..
If you want peace and quiet and to walk directly to a sunlounger without having to ask the pool staff to find one then this is not the place for you.
The hotel pay tv is 10 quid for 7 days, handy if u fall ill.The gym and sauna is free but we never used. Its extra for turkish bath, massage etc. The all inclusive restaurants are la select and the outdoor snack bar. by the pool. the shopin the hotel is expensive and the so called bus to the private beach .. the private beach is in Ichmeler..? why? and the bus collects twice a day at 9.50 am and 10.50 am so we never bothered wit this. Just outside the hotel is an excursion place the guy to ask for is GINO, he will look after you , we took a full day to turtle beach, mud baths etc . This was a boat trip and it was a lovely big boat 4 floors, dinner provided although you pay for drinks , this i would highly recommend as the scenery is amazing as was jumping into the sea etc....also there was a particular member of staff who was really helpful and kind he was called KEENAN, he looked after us and really made things easy for us.
Main thing to remember is hotel is good, food ok , all inclusive not worth it, location away from hustle and bustle .. enjoy

Just returned from Club Cettia after 2 Weeks at the end of June. Weather was fantastic. The hotel was good, Thompson Kids Club was excellent. Overall a very good family holiday for us with our 3 Year old daughter.

The location is a little way out from the beach/harbour but you can get on a Dolmus (bus) very easily and cheaply to take you there (1.5tl), about 10mins. The beaches are small and mainly shingle and the sea is quite cold but nice as it's so hot. If you are looking for golden sand this is not the place to go although Icmeler (about 30mins away) has better beaches and there is a free bus every day.
We were all inclusive and found it to be very good value for money. The food was excellent and plentiful, there is a separate snack bar open from 12:00 to 17:00 if your kids only eat pizza/chicken nuggets/chips.
Local beer Effes is good, around 5%, and local spirits are good. The bar service can be a bit slow at night but not too bad.
The kids have fun in the kids pool which has two slides. The main pool has a big slide and it's where you get to do the daily "sun dance" plus water polo, fitness, games etc.
The entertainment team are good fun. No problem getting a sun bed for us.
At night there is a mini disco every night from 20:30 to 21:30 which the kids love although it is the same songs every night. Friday night the Thompson Reps do some more games with the kids, it would be good if they did that more often. 21:30 is raffle or bingo. Around 22:00 the adult entertainment starts with breakdancing, entertainment team show (funny), robot show, turkish night, etc. It was OK but not our thing really as we love live music.
Try the Turkish Shave, really nice. We didn't try the spa or Turkish baths.
You can get some good deals at the Bazaar if you are up for bartering, start about a third at what they offer you and go from there. We got some kids shoes for 10tl, about £4.
The harbour is beautiful and has many restaurants. We found Dede's to be excellent value and excellent food, let them tempt you in with an offer of free starters or drinks as they are all after your custom.

Overall a great holiday which is made more appealing by Turkey not being in the Euro so your money goes a lot further.

Just want to say how much we enjoyed our holiday, our party comprised of 4 adults, 4 children and 2 infants. we stayed at the Grand Cettia Hotel for 2 weeks all incl, now lets be honest the food was a little repetative and the rooms basic, but the team of staff from the poolboys to management were superb, nothing was too much trouble, and everyone seemed to know all the guests names. i would like to mention a few names as these guys made our holiday very memorable, to the point of we are booking to go again next year and we only arrived home today.. King kenny,Geordie shaw, Eddie, Ogur, Sam, Sanjay and Gino to name but a few all made this holiday something special.
The kids had a ball always something to do, with someone always watching over there safety it was a pleasant surprise to see. and i'm certain this kind of service would not be seen in "bigger more exclusive hotels" this made the whole experience very personable. For this i say Thank you...

Upon arrival of the grand cettia hotel we were greeted by a very friendly porter who helped us with our bags to reception to check in. The reception staff were very friendly and dealt with our check in process very promptly. A porter then helped us with our luggage and showed us to our room and as we paid for the safety deposit safe he also showed us how to use this without being asked.
We arrived at the hotel and settled in to our room in time for tea and was pleasantly surprised at the selection. As this was the first time we had been on an all inclusive holiday we were a bit apprehensive with is it going to be the same food every night but we were very happy with the food at the cettia.
The staff all around we found were pleasant happy to help and happy in there work. We definately reccomend a visit to the hotel spa for a turkish bath, and if your travelling with children my son (aged 5) absolutely loved the hot chocolate massage!!! The entertainment team were fab and almost from the beginning if you like to get involved and join in the fun cocoa cookie and honey will certainly assure you have a blast!
The grand cettia is about a 10 to 15 minute walk to the beachfront but if you dont want to walk then the dolmus bus stops at the bottom of the road right outside the hotel and is reasnably priced at 1lira50pp.

Overall we had an absolutely AMAZING two weeks here at the cettia and would be very surprised if you didnt too!!!

I have just returned from the Grand Cettia after enjoying a really great holiday.
The hotel and room was very clean and well kept every day.
All of the staff at this hotel was friendly and welcoming.
Turkish food was fantastic! You can easily find wide range of choices, even if you are vegetarian.
Choice of drinks was typical as in all hotels, but wide enough (soft drinks, beer, gin, rum, vodka etc.).
Hotel has great Spa and a reasonable gym facility, where you can make some sport activities if you like it.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone.
