Can't fault it. We stayed on an all inclusive basis. The food was excellent with plenty of choice (we did eat out a couple of times for variety). Not a massive fan of Marmaris- we found it very commercial, but if we ever wanted to go back, we'd definitely stay at the Blue Bays. A*

Stayed one week following a week on a gulet. After the very basic facilities on the boat it was lovely to have a spacious room and bathroom, both of which were nice and clean.Towels were changed daily but rooms were not cleaned till late afternoon on most days. Reception staff very helpful with good English spoken, public areas clean and tidy.
Food was plentiful but a bit samey, salads were excellent. Waitresses in the restaurant worked hard and were attentive at all times. Loud music in the public areas including round the pool was a little tedious, rather use the beach to get away from the noise. In conclusion we had a relaxing week at the Blue Bay and found it quite acceptable. Not the best hotel we have ever stayed in but certainly not the worst.

Staff:
Friendly, helpful, & accomodating.

Room:
Spacious, tidy and cleaned daily. The AC works like charm. There's a small balcony that's convenient for any random 10 minute wait or for smokers. The closets are a bit small, not a big deal; also not many channels on TV, but you can get it. if you care for cable while you're travelling, for a cheap price. The bathrooms are also spacious and the towels are changed daily without requesting so. There is only one problem: in the bathroom you can clearly hear if they guy/girl in the other room's bathroom so much as clear their throats!

Food:
The food is fresh, tasty & varied - it should be more than satisfactory if you are English or Arab. Breakfast and dinner offer a number of appetizers, a number of main courses, and a number of desserts.

Pool:
The pool is big enough for such a hotel with enough sunbeds.

Activities:
The entertainment in the hotel though very humble, is nice. What is great about it, is that they advise you on the best places to go to at night in Marmaris and arrange to take you there via bus!

Overall, the hotel experience was faultless. Keep in mind, this is an adults only hotel; their counterpart, the Blue Bay Platinum is for families, which is a very smart decision on the management/owners' part

P.S.: concerning Marmaris, it's a beach to unwind at a fair price; nothing unique about it. Do not try carting, horseback riding, or serious water sports; they can be dangerous and the safety precautions seem to be substandard. Cleopatra beach is a MUST GO, the mud bath thing is highly over-rated and you spend the better half of the day waiting in a big boat.

The hubby and I stayed here 5/9/12 - 19/9/12. The hotel has an adult only concept and is mostly all inclusive (10am-11.30pm)

When we arrived (about 1.30am) we had help with our cases and were shown to reception. We were checked in by a lovely young lady who gave us an information sheet and went through it with us in perfect english, we were given our AI wrist bands and shown up to our room (8427) on the fourth floor.
First impressions of the hotel were good, and when we arrived in our room we were still quite pleased. However, the standard of the room was not actually up to expectation. The room was a fair size, perfectly adequate for two adults, but storage space was a problem. There were two built in wardrobes, one either side of the bed which were small and thin; one had shelves, the other hanging space with 5 hangers... needless to say, unpacking two weeks worth of clothing for two people required some imagination!!
When looking through the reviews myself, I noted one traveller comparing the rooms to a travelodge or premier inn, and I completely have to agree. Standard in size and decoration, nothing fancy or decorative. We didn't have a problem with this, but if you are expecting luxury, you may need to seek other accomodation. The room was not 'cleaned' at all during our stay, the beds were made and clean towels left daily but no one hoovered the floor or wiped the surfaces! The toilet was cleaned every few days but no one touched the sink or mirror which were splattered in toothpaste from previous guests. I'm not really too bothered about things like this, but I did start to wonder....!
There was a small balconcy overlooking the hotel next door and its pool, which was quiet, a dresser with a pouffe and a small fridge. The bathroom was very basic and a bit tired, but functioned perfectly well. As most other reviews state, the soundproofing in here could be a problem for you if you don't have a sense of humour!! The bed was hard, as were the pillows, and neither of us slept particularly well during our stay, but this is down to personal preference. There was no duvet or extra sheet, just a slightly tatty over throw that could get a bit scratchy!

We had a problem with our air-con, in that it didn't cool the room much except after a few hours. We did ask three times for this to be fixed but in the end they said there was nothing wrong with it, and we were given what is known as an eco card. This is a card much like your room key, but you use it to keep the air-con on by putting that in the slot instead of your key card. While we were out all day the air-con was on in the room, and this helped alot! By the time we got back from the beach and out of the 42'c heat, the room was icy cold! Bliss!

The hotel is built around its own pool and grounds. The pool is fairly small as was the space for sitting around it, but this is the case with most hotels in and around Marmaris. The pool was private and very clean, if you walk around the town most hotels have their pools next to pavements so all and sundry can see you sunbathing! Standard of cleanliness outside was good.

The beach is across a quiet, narrow road, and then through a bit of unused land. Its not especially pretty but it is only a minutes walk. The beach itself, well, I'm still not sure if I liked it or not, but I refuse to sit around a concrete pool all day!
The beach is very narrow, probably only 8 meters from the back to the shore, if that, and they do like to cram in the sunbeds! It's not sand, but a very grainy shingle, so take swim shoes! The water is beautiful, but be warned, the fish do bite! Now, here's some advice....there is a man who stands to greet you when you arrive at the beach...he shouts 'Blue Bay' and you think, ah, this is us...but it's not. The section of beach reserved for Blue Bay guests has BLUE sunbed mattresses, he will try to stick you on the white ones. He's from the Cuba Bar next to the hotel, he will give you a menu and ask you to buy from it. It is cheap and we did cave in on a few days when it was just too hot to move, but generally we felt cheated as he wouldn't let you choose your own sunbed...he would 'reserve' them for anyone who bought food or drink from him, even from other hotels, and you were a shoe in if he fancied you, sit where you like! Marmaris beach is free....you CAN sit where you like!! So if there are beds free and you want them, take them, even if you are told they are reserved...we did and managed to sit where WE wanted to. Plonker.

The service in the hotel was impeccable. I cannot praise the staff enough, all were friendly and helpful!! This is the reason I decided on 4/5 not 3...purely down to the fantastic staff.

The hotel's ammenities are basic. The spa area and the gym are...well, grotty. We bought a turkish bath deal from the rep and were taken to the Platinum next door....wow. Really put the classic to shame. But I believe you can use all the ammenities next door free of charge.

The food in the Classic was lovely, always tasty and the presentaion of dishes was just beautiful. There wasn't a lot of choice when it came to hot food, but I cannot imagine anyone would go hungry for a second. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all spot on, and afternoon tea was served downstairs at 3pm if you wanted it, cakes, biscuits and tea...lovely! Resteraunt was...cosy, and often hot! Breakfast and dinner you could sit outside should you wish, but lunch was strictly an indoor affair and it did get quite busy, be prepared to cosy on up to strangers if you want a seat! The hotel does offer table service, and you order your drinks with your waitress, really lovely girls, they do a great job. There are two bars in the hotel, the pool bar, and the Bonsai bar, which is at reception, again, staff were fantastic and the drinks they pour are extremely generous!

This hotel is by far one of the better in the Marmaris area, and it is in a perfect location...literally on the beach and a short dolmus ride to town.

I've just read my review back, and it does come over a bit picky, but I want to assure you that although it wasn't perfect, we had a damn good time! And even though I'm writing about it now, all the little things I picked up on didn't actually bother me while I was there, but I want to give an honest account. We both enjoyed our stay tremendously, and would definately return knowing what to expect. .

Room Tip: Go high up and to the front of the hotel if you can!

Stayed in The Blue Bay Classic last two weeks of Sept 2012. The hotel was great and had a really relaxing atmosphere as it was adults only. The food was good and plentiful and the waitresses pleasant and attentive at all times. Our room had a full sea view and the maids cleaned and changed our sheets and towels every day. All the staff were friendly and went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. A big big thank you to Nichola at guest relations for helping to make our holiday memorable. We wouldn't hesitate to stay in this hotel again. From the moment we booked in until we checked out ,we had a fab time. Hope to go back next year.

Just arrived home this morning after another 2 weeks at this hotel. Firstly i would like to thank all the staff, especially April from the Bonsai Bar (Ebru) Yasemin of the entertainment team Erdal from the pool bar and Nicola from guest relations. All the staff from this hotel are the best, always happy and courteous.Clean towels everyday, food amazing and all staff willing to help anytime. Cant wait to return. Love the adults only-change as this made it a very chilled holiday. Only downside to the holiday was those that chose to get up at 7am to put towels on beds then not return until lunch!! i think this should be stopped for the new season. But all in all a top hotel with top staff and facilities.

Room Tip: we were put in a room on floor one at the rear of the hotel, big tip is to ensure aircon works as le...
