“Great backpacker's”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2013

Stayed here a number of times while working Uganda. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, showers are hot. Manager is exceptional. Was quieter than I was expecting, resulting in good sleep every time I stayed here. Free wifi "is available", but it was inconsistent at best. A great value overall.

Only complaint is food service -- it will take hours (it will be adequate when it finally arrives). Recommend walking 50 feet up the road to Sunset Inn (or Faze 3 in the other direction) to eat.

It is conveniently close to airport area so a taxi should only cost 12000-15000UGS and you can book your ride through Backpackers. It's relaxed and basic accommodation, no frills but cheap price! Shared bathroom singles are UGS 25000 and a stand alone bungalow double is 40000 and worth the privacy and onsite bathroom. They aren't new or glamorous but it's safe and has a decent bed w/netting. They have WIFI but it isn't always working. Camping is an option if you are really trying to save $. Their restaurant is pretty good food, with good prices and fast service, so take advantage of having that onsite as well.

We stayed here for a couple of nights and I thought it was excellent. Amazing value at £6.25 per night and a lot nicer than a few hostels I have stayed at around Europe. It is a hostel so don't expect 5 star luxury but the staff were friendly and it was clean.

This place was horrific!
As soon as we arrived things looked pretty grim - the guy checking us in couldn't have given less of a rats about the fact that we were there, he was beyond unfriendly and his whole attitude gave the impression we were inconveniencing him by being there. We were given the double room which is basically IN the reception & guest lounge area and this meant we could hear everything happening out there, which included the TV being on for hours as guests lazed around watching TV and seemed as if they'd lost all will to live.
Our room was ultra basic, with holes in the mossie nets and only one socket for charging in the whole room. This meant we had to take turns charging phones and cameras, which was a real pain (first world problems, I know).
The en-suite bathroom was a nightmare! The shower looked like an electrocution risk, dribbled water and was freezing without any way to seemingly make it warm/hot. The sink taps were broken so we couldn't wash hands/teeth etc properly and the toilet barely flushed.
The beds were a bit of a nightmare - although the mattresses were ok, my pillows felt as though they'd been stuffed with amputated limbs and bits of wire, they were so bulky and bitty and uncomfy. This made sleep pretty uncomfortable! Thank goodness we were only there for one night! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, stay clear if you can find another place in Entebbe to stay!

Room Tip: Avoid the room which is located in the reception area, right in front of the reception desk.

There's not much more to say than the title. The place is fine, standard backpacker lodging, and the dorm room was the cheapest one I saw in Uganda. There were big holes in the mosquito nets, the bathroom wasn't immaculate, and the food seemed overpriced, but it seemed no worse than other backpacker places in Uganda.

Wifi & a big tv in reception, it's about a 30-40 minute walk to Entebbe town (and even the airport, more or less), and it's cheap and easy to get to - just take the Matatu from Kampala for 3000 UGX and drop at Church Rd. Airport transfer is also very cheap at 15000 UGX (although it is a really short ride - still way better than taking a taxi from one of the Kampala backpacker places). Would recommend if you have a flight at odd hours
