Originally I had planned to stay there for 5 nights but finally decided to cut it short to two seeing that it was too pricey for the amenities and the service the hotel offers.
The swimming pool is pretty clean and pleasant but it had to be closed for a function. The gym equipment is antiquated. Breakfast lacked variety and the staff acted sluggishly as if they were not too happy to be at the breakfast service. Even if there were only 2 guests in dining hall, none of the 3 to 4 staff would care to ask if you want coffee or tea nor even greet you good morning. It would be up to you to find where the individual coffee pots are.
The reception area can certainly use a little bit more ambient lighting as it is too gloomy.
If you need shuttle to the airport, please book in advance. If you want to go elsewhere even close by, try to bargain because I was told by the receptionist that I needed to pay 20000 shillings for the taxi. My destination was barely two km away. It would perhaps help if they publish the taxi rates at the reception.
To Lake Victoria's credit though, the rooms are clean and well appointed and the a la carte meals are tasty and reasonably priced.
Overall, it might be good for a maximum two night stay or for meals but not more than that.
