Reviewed 26 July 2014

Hello! I'd like to share my impressions after vacation spent in Ajman Palace hotel.
I travel quite a lot in different places and I have been to the UAE twice previously (in Jumeirah (4* hotel), Fujairah (5* hotel)).

My vacation was in Ramadan period therefore there were not many people in the hotel that provided very quiet atmosphere for relaxing. We spent 11 days in Ajman Palace hotel.
Ajman Palace is a new very beautiful arabian stylish hotel with amazing interior, nice rooms. We had sea view room (at the 7-th floor) that was great (we enjoyed wonderful sunset picture). Room service is good. There is an amazing SPA center in the hotel. The sea is very close to the hotel (about 70-100 m) that is very comfortable. The beach is good but I guess it might be too small when the hotel is full...The pool is not very big but quite nice. There is no any garden at the nearest to the hotel area since the territory is small.
The staff on the reception, in the SPA center, some people in the restaurant, are friendly, very kind, nice.
You can use perfect wi-fi (free) at the hotel’s territory unlimitedly.
Some hotels which are very close to Ajman Palace are not opened yet because building is in a progress. Although it is unchangeable circumstance please be aware of it- you can hear building noise and see the building equipment while spending your time on the beach. I guess it would be not very pleasant...:(
Food in the restaurant is a separate topic for discussion. The best thing I liked were delicious fresh juices at breakfast time (particularly mango fresh), some desserts at the dinner. However nothing more actually. Of course we were not hungry but believe me in general it was NOT a food for 5* hotel. I will try to explain you my opinion.
There was very a limited variety of meet at the dinner. 1 lamb dish and 1 type of fish food were present every day, NO beef at all, chicken-periodically...For example one day there were lamb dish and fish in tomato sauce. So if you don't eat lamb and fish in tomato sauce (like me) and there is no "chicken-day" you have to eat vegetarian food this day ;) no any choice. We did not see any sea food at all during our vacation time (except the above mentioned fish and shrimp cocktail given once). This shrimp cocktail was portioned out for one-person (like most salads in this restaurant) and actually it was only 1 shrimp in the WHOLE cocktail's portion.
The guests cannot choose soup at the dinner -only 1 type of soup always. The restaurant does not offer you good variety and quantity of fruits. All fruits are portioned out on super-thin slices laid out on a dish next to the desserts area. The plate with the fruits in the restaurant can remain empty so long before they replenish it...Is it ok for 5*??? I don't think so.

A transfer from the hotel to Dubai is not convenient -I mean you should make a booking in advance and MAYBE they will confirm it for the day you wish. We had to go to Dubai by a taxi because the transfer was cancelled for several days due to an owner of the hotel needed the transfer’s driver. Sorry, but I cannot understand why hotel’s guests should have inconveniences during their vacation since the hotel's facility (transfer to Dubai) is unavailable...?

Some waitresses are so slow...(thankfully no all of them!). Why I have to ask them to take away the dish from a table? There were only about 50-60 guests in the restaurant (remember it was Ramadan period) so it should be not so difficult to do their job TIMELY without any additional request!?
I mentioned also that all cooks who appear periodically during the dinner time in the restaurant are not friendly and even they don't say "Hi" when you greet them! I've never seen this type of behavior...Come on guys, you are working in tourism area being a part of people's holidays so please just be a little bit more polite and friendly! It's elementary things!

Of course you can find pros and cons in any place/thing if you would like…Therefore positive programming for funny vacation is very important. Thankfully we tried to not be focused on disadvantages of the hotel and enjoy our vacation.
I tried to give my feedback and hope the report can be useful for someone! :)

Good luck:)

Kind regards,
E.

One of the best hotels in Ajman. The quality of sleep I had was really good. Their bed is very comfortable, breakfast is delicious. The services in the hotel are wonderful, welcome drinks are provided upon check-in however they are very strict with their check-out time maybe because it was peak season when we stayed there. Anyway, we love the stunning beach view from the cute balcony in our room!

The hotel is really nice, very easy to reach. It is the best option for friends and families, there is not much to see in Ajman but i recommend it to people who want to visit Dubai and come back to a calm place, the room was alot larger then what we expected and was nicely decorated, we loved the colors and the Arabic concept, the beach and the pool were small but good. The service was excellent and the staff were very polite and always ready to help especially Moaad from reception, nothing was a problem for him. Put more landmarks for the hotel direction in the city

Reception was very friendly & helpful, granted our sea view balcony request,it was midweek, half empty hotel;was nice of him.
We left the luggages & went for long lunch, when we returned floors were sweaty/slippery & door was whistling.Tried to call reception, phone was out of order.Realised the window was left slightly open & humidity did it's magic. When supervisor came, explained the issues. He was rude & wouldn't accept that he could have left the window open,it's a human mistake but his attitude was unacceptable – to be fair all other staff are very friendly & helpful – didnt want to go in circles,he was only listening to himself.
Floors wiped & almost dry, maintenance came, once he opened the balcony door opened for while everywhere was dump & wet again.Banging, pushing, pulling,he did a poor job but whistling stopped;now the door couldn't be locked, had no clue what he was doing, the moment he stepped out the whistling started & got worst,he was nowhere to be found, recalled reception & they sent AC maintenance,re-explained the problem,we didn't reach anywhere & it wasn't his job to begin with.
Asked to change the room, after more then 2 hours & 5 phone calls, where every single time I was informed a room is being prepared for us while sitting in the dump noisy room having to keep the main room door open for some fresh air, went down in person;the key was just sitting at reception, not sure why it wasn't delivered.Reception staff were clueless, different staff than the one who checked us in.
The new room was fine, the only issue was the wardrobe door that wouldn't slide properly,we hurt our fingers few times. Not sure why took hours to prepare as the minibar was empty, even complimentary tea & coffee were not available...
We have wasted around 5 hours maintenance/waiting,ruined the day.It was already dinner we time we headed to Dragon's Place.Amazing fresh food, outstanding service,it was the perfect choice to forget the saga.Good Buffet breakfast,Small Beach, comfortable sun-beds

Room Tip: Rooms in the middle have a full sea view

Dear Bannoutbaby,
Thank you for your recent review. Please accept our apologies for the debacle surrounding the whole maintenance & housekeeping issues, but in particular for the attitude of the Supervisor who attended the issue. We pride ourselves on attention to detail, but this was sadly lacking on this occasion.
I am glad that you enjoyed The Dragon’s Place Restaurant, it is a wonderful restaurant, particularly with the fresh food elements.
Should the opportunity ever arise for you to return, please do not hesitate to contact me directly where I can assure you of my personal attention.

The SPA, DRAGON'S PLACE Restaurant and the staff in the Hotel very good. The Elemis products are as well a plus for this hotel. The beach and the pool are not very big but for us was more than enough. The breakfast has space for improvements as the options are not many. The children club/activities not yet open. If you don't smoke make sure you informed them as some rooms are for smokers. We booked 4 rooms and all were OK/

PS this is a dry Hotel.

Room Tip: sea view rooms, if you prefer no smoking rooms make sure you mention

We are delighted to know you were able to utilize Encore Spa and Elemis products, and indeed enjoyed dining in Dragon’s Place Restaurant. Thank you for your comments regarding the improvements at breakfast and assure you we passed these along to the Executive Chef.

We spent the weekend here last week. We had a birthday weekend away and decided to go to a new hotel. The place is very new and very well presented and the staff were friendly and caring.
The sea view rooms are very nice but a bit tight for space and only 1 chair on the very small balcony but the view makes up for that.
The food is very good but the staff need prompting to come and see you.
THIS IS A DRY HOTEL!
Strangely a dry hotel within a 100 yards of a big booze shop so really looking for local support.
On the plus side it is quite and therefore, very, very nice and relaxing.
I can imagine if it gets busy the pool and beach areas will be a bit tight.

I arranged a birthday package through Olga and her team for a private room in Dragon Palace and they did a great job. Firstly despite other comments here its not that expensive, secondly service is amazing, thirdly the food is great!
The room was covered in rose petals and the delivery of cake and flowers was perfect. They then delivered them to the room so we could go for a stroll.

In all this is a great place to unwind and get away from the city. Enjoy the pool and beach and the relaxed atmosphere and also enjoy the very good food.

Thanks Ajman Palace we will be back.

Room Tip: Sea view is worth the smaller space
