Hello! I'd like to share my impressions after vacation spent in Ajman Palace hotel.
I travel quite a lot in different places and I have been to the UAE twice previously (in Jumeirah (4* hotel), Fujairah (5* hotel)).
My vacation was in Ramadan period therefore there were not many people in the hotel that provided very quiet atmosphere for relaxing. We spent 11 days in Ajman Palace hotel.
Ajman Palace is a new very beautiful arabian stylish hotel with amazing interior, nice rooms. We had sea view room (at the 7-th floor) that was great (we enjoyed wonderful sunset picture). Room service is good. There is an amazing SPA center in the hotel. The sea is very close to the hotel (about 70-100 m) that is very comfortable. The beach is good but I guess it might be too small when the hotel is full...The pool is not very big but quite nice. There is no any garden at the nearest to the hotel area since the territory is small.
The staff on the reception, in the SPA center, some people in the restaurant, are friendly, very kind, nice.
You can use perfect wi-fi (free) at the hotel’s territory unlimitedly.
Some hotels which are very close to Ajman Palace are not opened yet because building is in a progress. Although it is unchangeable circumstance please be aware of it- you can hear building noise and see the building equipment while spending your time on the beach. I guess it would be not very pleasant...:(
Food in the restaurant is a separate topic for discussion. The best thing I liked were delicious fresh juices at breakfast time (particularly mango fresh), some desserts at the dinner. However nothing more actually. Of course we were not hungry but believe me in general it was NOT a food for 5* hotel. I will try to explain you my opinion.
There was very a limited variety of meet at the dinner. 1 lamb dish and 1 type of fish food were present every day, NO beef at all, chicken-periodically...For example one day there were lamb dish and fish in tomato sauce. So if you don't eat lamb and fish in tomato sauce (like me) and there is no "chicken-day" you have to eat vegetarian food this day ;) no any choice. We did not see any sea food at all during our vacation time (except the above mentioned fish and shrimp cocktail given once). This shrimp cocktail was portioned out for one-person (like most salads in this restaurant) and actually it was only 1 shrimp in the WHOLE cocktail's portion.
The guests cannot choose soup at the dinner -only 1 type of soup always. The restaurant does not offer you good variety and quantity of fruits. All fruits are portioned out on super-thin slices laid out on a dish next to the desserts area. The plate with the fruits in the restaurant can remain empty so long before they replenish it...Is it ok for 5*??? I don't think so.
A transfer from the hotel to Dubai is not convenient -I mean you should make a booking in advance and MAYBE they will confirm it for the day you wish. We had to go to Dubai by a taxi because the transfer was cancelled for several days due to an owner of the hotel needed the transfer’s driver. Sorry, but I cannot understand why hotel’s guests should have inconveniences during their vacation since the hotel's facility (transfer to Dubai) is unavailable...?
Some waitresses are so slow...(thankfully no all of them!). Why I have to ask them to take away the dish from a table? There were only about 50-60 guests in the restaurant (remember it was Ramadan period) so it should be not so difficult to do their job TIMELY without any additional request!?
I mentioned also that all cooks who appear periodically during the dinner time in the restaurant are not friendly and even they don't say "Hi" when you greet them! I've never seen this type of behavior...Come on guys, you are working in tourism area being a part of people's holidays so please just be a little bit more polite and friendly! It's elementary things!
Of course you can find pros and cons in any place/thing if you would like…Therefore positive programming for funny vacation is very important. Thankfully we tried to not be focused on disadvantages of the hotel and enjoy our vacation.
I tried to give my feedback and hope the report can be useful for someone! :)
