I was quite surprised to read some negative reviews about the zoo. I have been there several times along with visitors from the UK. Each visit has been enjoyed by adults and children alike. It is well set out and you can walk round or take the train. The rhino and giraffe enclosure is great and has an elevated viewing area, which is great for kids. The best time to go is early evening when the temperature is just about right for you and the animals. In the Summer months the zoo doesn't open until 16:00 hrs.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the world class quality of animal presentation and the condition of the animals. My family thoroughly enjoyed the visit, especially the birds of prey show. There are good bathroom facilities, good food outlets and helpful staff. There are motorised transport options but we preferred to walk and take it all in slowly. An excellent way to spend a few hours.

The zoo is the biggest in the emirates and it has a huge variety of wild animals, reptiles and birds. But the biggest disadvantage is that there are sections where you might find the same animals especially the big cats in numerous places across the park. But overall it is very well designed and laid out. The reptiles and birds section are a must see especially the penguins. In the evenings there was a falcon(the national bird of the emirates) show near the penguins area. Overall one of the must see places in Al Ain along with the Hili Fun City and Jebel Hafeet.

because of the hot weather, most of the animals are hidding in the shade under whatever shade they could find and look tiered.. not a nice scene for the poor animals.

I was really impressed with the quality of this zoo. The animals' enclosures are very spacious, and I was surprised at the number and diversity of animals. You can feed carrots the giraffes for 20 dirhams. This is a really beautiful wildlife park and a must-do if you are spending time in Al Ain.
