Cove Rotana in RAK is a great place to relax & have fun. It is a "small village" with friendly staff, great food & nice pools. Perfect place for family, couples and friends. There are all faciities for kids, and adults; beach parties, live music in the restaurants, etc

There is no wifi in the rooms but for me it is ok as I really like to enjoy my hollidays without mobile phones and internet.

Highly recommend everyone to visit that beautiful place even for a short stay.

We booked this as a last-minute (and much needed) holiday, and came away enraptured with the place and we're already making plans to return.

We stayed for a week on an all-inclusive package, and admit we had a couple of reservations based on some of the less enthusiastic reviews on here. However, we needn't have worried. The welcome on arrival was very good, and we were offered the chance to upgrade to a villa. However, we decided to stick with our premium sea-view room which, though slightly compact, was extremely comfortable. As our flight didn't get in until just after 8pm, by the time we got our bags and got to the resort and checked in, it was past the 10:30pm cut-off time at the Cinnamon restaurant. Despite the fact that the food had been cleared away the staff offered us a number of options and we were presented with beef stew, a very generous helping of roast duck and vegetables. They couldn't have been more accommodating.

On the subject of food, the buffet selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner was both extensive and delicious. The cuisine was a mix of local and international, and varied over the course of the week we were there. Some days we just couldn't decide what to have and so we upped the number of courses to have a little of everything we fancied! Whether you like meat, seafood, curry or raw fruit and veg, there was something to cater for all tastes.

The golf buggies to ferry you around are useful, but in fact we ended up walking around quite a bit - a walk from the restaurant down to the beach after our evening meal became a daily event.

All of the staff - reception, restaurant, bar, cleaning and everyone else - were extremely polite and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble,

We had no problem with the relative lack of internet access - we were on holiday and actually loved the fact that we were pretty much disconnected. That said, on our balcony (and in the restaurant) we could pick up the wifi signal from the main reception easily enough. There are free links to news channels from multiple international agencies, and to airlines so you can check in online for your return journey.

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the resort to someone else, and we are already making plans to go back again next year, probably for two weeks instead of the one.

Room Tip: Premium sea view rooms are worth the extra, as the sea is beautiful.

Starting from reception, we received a very warm greeting from both the reception staff and the room were ready!!. However when we went to the room, the floor still wet in the living room as we booked 2 villa bedroom likely we don't have kids with us slip and It look almost empty of furniture. also the lighting in the room was very low, so if you want to dry your hair you should have your adapter with long wire to the bathroom. Also I had caesar salad from the room service, the salad were full of sauce which make the lettuce too soft, it was the most bad Caesar salad I ever had. Other than this staff were very friendly and polite and the hotel is a good area for getting away weekend..

We stayed at the Rotana in February 2014 for a week on an all inclusive basis. We were a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 teenagers. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel. We had 2 sea view rooms which where spotlessly clean, the only small point I would raise is the bathrooms are beginning to show signs of needing some improvement.
The staff where excellent and could not do enough for you especially the guys down by the adult pool they were fantastic. The food was excellent in fact we have stayed in many all inclusive hotels and this was probably the best food we have ever had. Everywhere in the hotel was spotless, facilities excellent, sun beds out of this world !.The one small glitch no free wifi I thought our teenagers were going to pass out on hearing that news however they have recently started providing free wifi for an hour in the restaurants so the kids got by with this.
We had a late flight and they accommodated us with a room........excellent customer service.
Great place we will return and good value for money.

Just loved everything about this hotel ! Cove Rotana is a seafacing resort built on plateaus and spread out over a large area on different levels --therefore the use of golf carts to ferry the residents around the property. The view from the cottages esp if sea facing is tranquil and fantastic.....all in all a very relaxing hotel. We can walk to the beach , to the pool and if you are tired - just call the reception to send a golf car . The in house restaurants served various cuisines and we just loved the food, the service. One word to describe our experience here - Superb :) the view of the entire property from the beach area is awesome.....with middle eastern architecture for each of the villas spread over the property.Loved our weekend here !

Room Tip: Always take a seafacing room or villa walkable distance to the main reception --worth every penny as...

This great property sits on a seafront location away from hustle and bustle of Dubai city (approx 1h15 from the airport). Hotels architecture and layout has look and feel of a small middle eastern village. Each room is an entrance from the street and we enjoyed this feature very much. Walk to the sea, even from our 9th level was always enjoyable and you can catch a golf car if you need to get back up In a hurry. The room itself was great and featured a large balcony , which we enjoyed during a hot day and at night.

We saw many other negative reviews about the food. We are very sensitive for restaurant food and I can say that quality of ingredients is excellent. The food features local classics such as hummus and labneh. Every night there is different special - European, or Asian or middle eastern (shawarma and kebab as they should be). Here the problem is not to eat too much. We had half board option, which worked out great, since breakfast omlettes were always filling and we wanted to come hungry for dinner.

The beach is great and never crowded. The water is kind of shallow but very warm, which we did not expect in February. Check tides time - they are quite substantial in the are. Swimming pool has excellent refreshing water.

Round trip to any of the malls around will set you back 50 AED, and it is probably an easy way to see the city around you. Everyone here speaks English (more or less) and even Russian (souqs mostly).

You have pay here for Wifi, but ideally you don't want to be connected during a holiday, right? We bought a local SIM card (150 AED=1Gb) of data. It was perfect for navigation in Dubai (we rented a car) and for taking care of data intensive emergencies at work (sigh....).

Best souvenirs (both material and memory) can be found in the souqs of Deira in Dubai. Malls are a great copy of what we have back in Europe. However, dancing fountains with Burj Halifa in the background are not to be missed.
If you crave more wild nature experience, ask for an excursion to Oman's Musandam peninsula. It offers a rare glimpse to pre-oil era.

Room Tip: Take an upgrade for the premium room. Yes, it costs more but my wife's "come here, honey, l...
