I stayed here a few weeks ago with my friend visiting from abroad. We drove from Dubai the drive itself was okay and I was surprised how well signposted the place was. However bearing in mind that was Dubai on the return journey we were going South to Al Ain.
We checked in on this Saturday evening at 6 PM deliberately late because I had read about the terrible check in time that you have to wait. I was pleased to say that we were the only people at check-in. They asked if we wanted a twin or double room. Our vouchers included for the Gardenview however they upgraded to the fourth floor giving us a wonderful mountain view. We asked for a twin room. As we got to the room the attendant was still rushing around trying to set things up like the cups and make sure the bathroom was okay. We were not disappointed the room size was very nice overlooking the pool and a good Mountain View. We went to the supermarket beforehand as we wanted to save money and ate a simple dinner in the room so you don't know what the dinner was like.
Everyone had already vacated during Saturday and hardly any guests. We wanted to use the spa we did not realise however that it included free use of the spa which was great, we booked through dnata.com otherwise it is 20 dirhams.
The spa is a little indoor swimming pool and the only way to differentiate the water is by realising that you do float more due to the minerals in the spa. Don't expect too much. Women was on one side and then on the other side. As I keep saying we were almost the only guess in the hotel but I doubt that would be much room in the hotel was full. There are also a steam room and a sauna room. They were okay. There was also a gimmick shower area sprays cold water on you. The gym is this very very small area consisting of only a few machines maybe one treadmill one elliptical.
I actually enjoyed buffet breakfast we went down about 8 o'clock and the choice was okay simple things we trying to be healthy though. About 10 AM also went to swim there was any another family there so plenty of room, I hate to think what the pool would be like during the crowd is busy peak season. For the pool is quite weird as it's actually like a plastic sheet.
Overall I enjoyed the stay the hotel room was clean. on the fourth floor room the view was magnificent, it's about 20 minutes from the town. Really isn't much else to do there I think. TV was very small but have a few English Channel which is really good. I found the staff at the reception okay and the staff in the restaurant.
Don't expect too much it was a nice relaxing drive from Dubai I definitely would not stay there during the week ends but I'm glad that I can have the flexibility to have weekdays off work and go there , i probably would go again.
