before i write this i read all the reports on here about this hotel before we booked but the holiday we were sold is definitely not the holiday we got!,my partner myself and our 5 yr old daughter got to the hotel around 22:00 on the 18th of july after traveling from 4:00 am in the morning to be met by the most ignorant reception staff i have come across they wanted a £100 up front incase of damages to the room and then we were told we had 30 minutes if we wanted anything to eat even though we had,nt a clue where the restaurant was so we decided just to go for a drink and turn in but when we went into a bar we were met by a security guard to say that no children were allowed and we would have to leave or sit outside in the 40* heat! so we just went to bed.
next day was no better we went for breakfast and everything was cold except for the omelettes which obviously were cooked in front of you, tables had,nt been cleaned no one to show you to your table no one brought you a drink or anything this was the same at night also it was a shambles at night their were kids running behind counters helping themselves people picking things up with their hands and just putting them back after pawing them it was disgusting to be honest.
there are 3 swimming pools 1 is used for ball games etc the other 2 for swimming but they are far to small because at weekends they let in the locals and believe me it just goes down bank from then, drinking and smoking in the pools babies with no nappies on in the pools women with their shoes on paddling at one point they even had a 5ft dinghy in the pool the poor life guards were trying to do their best but had no chance and to be honest the people were just animals!!
now i could go on and on but i will put forward some good points like the al a carte restaurants which were brill they were run by a lady called dora who was very professional also the cleaners and the staff at the sea and see bar aider suskar and also marhesh this man needs promotion he is a great worker i will finish off by saying when we were there that there were 4 different families leaving and going to other hotels thats how bad it was!
would i go back NO! would i recommend it NO! this hotel talks the talk BUT CANT WALK THE WALK!

Room Tip: make sure no one,s in them first like what happens here

In the Rixos Bab Al Bahr Hotel (UAE) we spent a very pleasant family holiday week at the end of July this year. Since arriving in this modern cosmopolitan hotel until the last moments there, we were fully satisfied (it was our first stay at the Rixos hotel network and it acted as a really tasty attraction for our next travel plans), all despite high July temperatures and some little restrictions associated with the period of Ramadan.

Especially we were satisfied both with our spacious and comfortable corner family room with a terrace on the third floor of the Pyramid 1 (overlooking both the pool and the sea, No. 1310) and with excellent choice of theme a la carte restaurants (which usefully complement an inexhaustible tasty meals in Seven Heights). Offered all-inclusive concept was perhaps flawless, as well as always helpful and smiling staff. Dress policy was reasonable and liberal, so if you stay on the beach or by the pool it poses no (for Europeans) unpleasant limits and at the same time it ensured unhindered experience of dinner at the societal level.

If we had still recommend something to the hotel for the future, we would surely welcome one more swimming pool with enough sun beds (what about using the lake around the restaurant?) and a greater range of cocktails in the all-inclusive programme.

This is my second visit to the hotel because of Rami, the manager at the check in. He is enthusiastic, dedicated employee with reliable work habits. Rami is always willing to pitch in to help the team; he gets the job done right the first time. He is efficient, punctual and conscientiously adheres to company standards and guidelines. Thank you. Nice concept in dubai as an all inclusive hotel for family getaway and bachelor party with your friends because both are possible in this hotel. Rooms are spacious with cold water but the swimming pool water is as hot as the ras Al khaimah water. They should also have a temperature control to a colder temperature. Also all inclusive drinks are local house spirits which can be replaced by red label and smirk off vodka at least as these are trusted brands of alcohol. Ras Al khaimah every body knows that too much fake alcohol are imported and not well blended. So try to live up to your mark rixos by serving johnny walker and smirk off. Rest food is very tasty

We stayed in the Rixos over Eid, on arrival there was no assistance with bags, although i did get a compliment on my car from the bellboy who then didnt grabe the bags from the vehicle, leaving me to go back and get everything myself.

On check-in we were told we had made a reservation for 2 rooms with groupon. We had 1 room and no groupon involved and no one could comprehend this.

The room was not cleaned while we were there and we had to call to get them to re stock the fridge.

But to top it off. A friend i was with accidentally walked into the wrong room on his way back one nigh, realised the mistake and quickly exited. The following morning the management came and told him he had to leave the hotel.

On questioning why this was, the management said whoever had made the complaint had more guests than we did so they didnt "want to loose face"!!!

We offered to meet with the guest to apologise profusely as we understood it would have been a shock but it was a harmless mistake, this was refused. We asked to speak to the Manager to discuss why we could not apologise directly to the guest, this was also refused.

Eventually the person we were dealing with said the police would be called if my friend did not leave within 2 hours.the police would be called. For what this would have been i have no idea....!

Anyway, thanks to Rixos management for ruining what had up to that point been a good group birthday.

AVOID THIS SHAMBLES AT ALL COSTS.

(i can say the restaurant staff were all fantastic however, I pity them having to work under such awful management)

We wanted to get away from busy Dubai for EID and decided on getting the groupin for 3 nights. I was skeptical since I had read mixed reviews on hotel, but we prayed we would be ok! We have a 5 month old baby girl and the heat and crowdedness worried us. But we went anyways with plans to make the best of it. We arrived at hotel and we were given a room on the 2nd building which was a perfect location to pool. Some people on here suggested building 1 because of location but all buildings are located in the same distance more or less close to the pool!!! So don't know what happened there. Also you just have to walk out in the what for a minute until you reach the other building and you're in AC again! C'mon lazy people!!!

Well check in was fast and we went to book restaurants, they fill up quickly which sucks!! Because I don't know what their system is but all the restaurants only had a few tables at a time filled up. We had 7pm, 9 and 9:39 reservations and the restaurants were always half or more empty!! Only a few people. But they they would turn down people that weren't on the list. The buffet is always open though. The variety of dishes at the restaurants wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad. The buffet was ok. Kinda the same. The service was great and everybody wanted to help out.

In regards to going with a baby in full blown summer, you have to be careful and don't ignore your children's signs. Our LO had a blast, she would smile at everybody all the time, everybody would talk to her and she napped on the lounge chairs in her diaper and a wet towel over her that we would re soak every 15-20 minutes to keep her cool. I would nurse her right then and there and back into the pool we would go. They have a small shaded "cabana" in the pool so do speak that's you are protected from the sun 100% and that's where we were most of the time. During the late afternoon there's shade in several parts of the pool.

Personally we wouldn't go back to this hotel at regular price because I don't drink and my husband isn't a heavy drinker, so it wasn't worth it for us in that aspect. Since the good was ok it would be better to just pay as you go at another hotel. However, the service was great, the hotel was clean and very nice and the pool was also nice and big. It was crowded but hey you're on vacation at a peak time, ofcourse there will be people there! I repeat we had a 5 month old with us and we had a great time! So it's all about how you handle the situation.
