“Lovely holiday”

This is a fantastic hotel that only need to make minor improvements. The best attribute of the hotel are the staff. Regardless of their job they go that extra mile to ensure you have a great holiday. I would especially like to point out the boys in the pool bar and all the staff in the Al Marjan restaurant.

The room are spacious and very modern, we were moved into one of the villas which were lovely.

The hotel has a number of swimming pools with plenty of beds and cabanas, you don't need to get up early to book a bed!

Food was excellent in the buffet bar with plenty to choose from, the staff will also cater for individual needs. We also ate in the brasserie, which was great lovely steak! although All inclusive includes a discount rather than the one free a week as described by the travel agent.

The only weakness of this hotel, is the lack of ambience and entertainment in the evenings. The children were well looked after during the day but nothing to do at night. It was also compounded by the fact that two of the bars are over 21's.

Overall a great hotel and a wonderful holiday.

We usually stop at The Hilton City in RAK but having stayed there 18 times we fancied a change, as this hotel was highly recommend by other readers of TA, we decided to book for early Aug with another couple... and boy are we glad we did... from the moment we walked through the door into reception we were treated like VIP'S .... we were so pleased to see familiar faces as many staff have joined the new hotel from the city hotel. The quality of food, rooms, staff service, we could not have asked for more. I would like to give a special mention to Suschile and Thameem at the pool bar. And the personnel attention given by Subhash (food&beverage) was above and beyond. The special attention given to such minor details was outstanding thank you Shriraj! And a final mention for the General Manager Remco Werkhoven who made sure all was well throughout our visit. We will be back in January.

it is a perfect place for family travelers and there are many activities for the kids and it is a nice place to enjoy pools and beach. The variety of food is amusing it is value for money. Also the vies is awesome.

Firstly we experienced a good 50 minute transfer from the airport laid on as part of our all inclusive stay, which started our holiday smoothly. At the hotel we were greeted with friendly staff at check in, which was hassle free! We were taken to our room which was in the main building overlooking the front of the hotel, which is quieter than pool side( there is villa accommodation nearer the pools and beach but further from main restaurant). The room was clean, large and comfortable with fridge, ironing board, iron, hair dryer together with toiletries and water replenished daily.

When you check in you are given a list of all bars, restaurants opening and closing times with a list of what drinks etc., are included in your all inclusive package. Although there were people with white wristbands (ours were brown) which were on deluxe all inclusive, but not sure the extra money was worth the premium, we were totally satisfied with our package and if in doubt ask, the staff are more than willing to answer and questions and queries.

The food in the Al Marjan restaurant was great, plenty of choice for all tastes, including a pork corner, with hams bacon and roast pork for those who want it. A great selection of savoury and sweet dishes, and can honestly say, some of the best food I have tasted on an all inclusive.

The staff throughout the hotel could not do enough for you,( a special mention for Ranjit in the restaurant that remembered our drinks order and refilled our glasses with hesitation) Although every member of staff poolside, beach bars and inside the hotel were fantastic with the attention they gave us.

Pools were well maintained with plenty of sun loungers, even in August! But we spent most of our time on the beach as there was more of a breeze,( again plenty of beds and umbrellas) the sea is very warm, like bath water so to cool off we dipped in the pool.

There are no daytime activities, which is what we wanted. However there is a group that played Latin style music around the pool some afternoons and they also played in the Anchor bar during the evenings. Make sure you visit all the bars available, many people had been there several days before finding the views and drinking places, especially great view from the lounge bar on the 9th floor of the main building also there is a gym and spa on this floor.

Whilst we were at the hotel there was some building work going on at the far end of the bay, which is going to be an extension to the hotel and the beach. I must say that this did not spoil our stay in any way and if you have travelled to the UAE before, you will understand that this normal for the expansion of Dubai city and its surrounding resorts.

The staff at this hotel make it a great place to spend a relaxing holiday and they are a credit to Doubletree Hilton. Thank you for the attention you paid us whilst we were with you, including the lovely gesture for our last breakfast which was cakes served with a message piped in chocolate on the plate to thank us for staying- we thank you!

As frequent travellers we had an interest in the Al Marjan Island development and as Hilton HHonors gold members this hotel seemed the answer.

Firstly I was irritated by guests who complained there's nothing to do around the hotel if they'd done their research they'd know Al Marjan Island is a man made island (think the Dubai Palm) being constructed in RAK it is a long way off finished and Double tree by Hilton and it's neighbour Rixos is all that seems to be built on time. I personally however think Al Marjan will be great!
The hotel looks great and from entry it's clear the staff are well trained. There was an issue with our villas air conditioning which was inconvenient but we could not get annoyed as the staff could not be more co operative and apologetic. We were all inclusive and the following morning ventured out to the pool finding our own way around. We were approached by Tariq who orientated us and offered his assistance and that of his colleagues and highlighted our privalidges as gold members.

There are two pool areas with little differences but our preference was the villa area pool as it's larger with a nearby covered kids pool and a great poolside bar and it stayed out of the shade longer each late afternoon.
We had interconnecting 'villa' room type which were lovely but not as good as Hilton RAK resort and spa interconnecting villa we had.
The rooms were well furnished , comfortable and have excellent furniture and a large LCD tv. The bathrooms are very well designed with oversize baths and wet room type showers. I plan to 'pinch' their idea of bedside switch for the low level light near the toilet! There are lots of well designed personal touches such as motion sensor clothes rail lights in the wardrobe and the press light pad door controls eg make up my room, do not disturb etc.
The housekeeping was excellent and couldn't fault the cleanliness in the rooms. I did not like the bed pillows as they were too soft but I couldn't bring myself to complain as they were very good quality and it's just my personal preference.
Breakfast is usually held in Al Marjan main restaurant but at weekends also in the Brasserie.
There are 3 restaurants, buffet, Vespa and brasserie. We are not fans of buffet restaurants but it's what you expect being all inclusive and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They were extremely accommodating toward our youngest child who eats a very limited diet!
Our favourite restaurant was the Brasserie and Viktoria and her team were faultless. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and happy. The children loved to see Viktoria, she is polite, friendly and cheerful. The food in the Brasserie is excellent and although we never met chef we passed on our compliments several times. Everything was very well cooked, tasty and well presented. The menu is small but varied and good quality food. There is attention to detail and even the butter is very good.
Dessert was also excellent the chocolate orange a personal favourite!

During the day the weather is very hot as you'd expect but the pools are temperature controlled and a welcome relief. The pool guys made sure our preference was remembered and the poolside bar staff are brilliant as they usually are in the Hilton UAE's! Sushil and his team Krishnan, Thaheem etc are from India and are very courteous and attentive . The bar is clean and well kept. Please give our thanks to the guys for their extra attention :-)

Kids club is smaller than others but perfectly formed and hosted by Philipeno staff who were friendly and full of new ideas , the children loved jenny particularly and wanted to go. We would never 'put' children in kids clubs but they wanted to go because of the crafty ideas of the kids club ladies.

We had a few minor issues which we tried to highlight at the time however later each issue was very well handled and to absolute satisfaction.

We got taxis and a driver on one day and got around the UAE as usual and really enjoyed our days. Dubai is 45 minutes away and around 200 dirham. I could go on about sight seeing but I will resist !

Unfortunately as with previous UAE experiences entertainment is a major let down and that's not specific to this hotel sadly. There was an Arabic night which could be much more made of with vendors and other entertainment. I think when it only lasted 45 minutes people were left feeling puzzled "is that it". It seems this is not a hotel specific issue - but its a shame there's no day time fun eg water games and evening fun and it's a major problem ... There's only so many movies one can watch.
There is only the lack of entertainment that prevents us being very regular guests to the UAE because we love the Emirates and would be more than happy to return to DTBH al marjan !

It is a new property, Beautifully done .Went there with family and friends had a great Time.They have a well laid breakfast buffet ,and the service staff is very good ,eager to help you for everything.Front office staff is also good.Evening activities were good and entertaining ,one day we had live Spanish music performance and other day lovely performance by local ,belly dancing etc.
They need to change there Pool timings which are 9 AM to 7 Am .It is very hot ,why dont they start at 6-7 am till 8-9 pm .The House keeping staff needs to improve their service, they are bit slow,otherwise good.
Overall a nice trip to remember ,will like to visit again .

It was my second stay in RAK Hotels, the first stay was in the same Hotel group, but I found Double Tree by Hilton Marjan Island amazing and more comfortable, easy access, quite area and friendly staff. They have 02 Pool and nice beach. In general it is suitable for the families.

Room Tip: Higher floors have wondeful view for sea and pool area
