My husband and I have just returned from a week's stay at the Hilton Resort & Spa. We were looking for rest and relaxation and were not disappointed. This hotel is spread over quite a large area. As well as the main hotel, there are many villas which sweep right round a glorious bay. We found the walk from one side to the other very pleasant in the evening.

We stayed in a deluxe sea-view room in the main part of the hotel (room 2407). We had 2 huge beds each which can be converted to 1 enormous bed on request. There was a small balcony which had the most amazing view of the entire beach area from one end of the hotel to the other. The bathroom contained everything you could need including a step-in shower. The standard of toiletries was high - Crabtree & Evelyn La Source - my favourite! We never saw our housekeeper, but they did an amazing job. Every day we came back to a different towel arrangement on our bed dotted with fresh petals. On our last day a lovely towelling swan was waiting for us. This is a small touch but a lovely surprise. There is a mini-bar (not included in the all-inclusive), tea and coffee making facilities and a large screen television showing several channels, including movies and BBC world news.

We sampled several of the available restaurants including the main one - the Maajid. Breakfast could be taken inside or out and the choice was enormous. Lunch and dinner also comprised extensive buffet meals. There was something for everyone. The Italian restaurant in the hotel we tried twice because we loved it so much. The chef came over to ask how we had enjoyed the food and made my husband and I a joint chocolate mousse which was to die for. We also tried the South American restaurant at the other end of the hotel and also enjoyed this. The staff in all restaurants, and in any of the hotel's facilities, were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. They were also some of the most friendly we have every come across. The poolside bar was lovely for a light lunch.

The beach areas were magnificent. Lovely long stretches of golden sand with enough sun loungers for a small army!! The standard of loungers by the pool areas was of an excellent standard - very thick mattresses with head rests. My husband loves swimming in the sea and so we spent every day on the beach. The beach attendants are excellent and provide a good service. The sea was lovely and warm and beautifully clean. There are several swimming pools all of which looked clean and well kept.

We both booked spa sessions - my husband a massage and myself a facial. My therapist was called Laura and my facial also included a 10 minute foot reflexology session which was to die for. If you take advantage of the Happy Hour booking system you can get a 25 per cent discount off the price. The Happy Hour changes every day so just ask at reception for details.

As has been mentioned before, there is still a little building work going on at the side of the hotel but this was hardly noticeable.

We were very surprised at some of the earlier negative reviews. However, we can only speak of what we found - a wonderfully staffed oasis of luxury. We would not hesitate to go back again. This time of year seems a good time to go as we reckon the hotel was only about half full, if that. Consequently the staff were falling over themselves to help us.

We can't wait to book and go back again.

The hotel is lovley, the staff are so lovley, location wise i'm not happy about..it's an 1hr 30mins approx by road from Dubai...if you've got little one's it can get a bit difficult....the Maarid restaurant staff have to the best, the best service you'll get.
However nothing to do in the evening, there's only 1 big mall called Manar Mall, if you go there everyday it kinda gets boring, there is a fun city a mini amusement place for the little ones they'll enjoy it.....
Try and arrange your own taxi..the hotel taxi is expensive, also try an arrange your own taxi to go Dubai etc....hotel one is expensive.....i would definetly go back again with my 2 little ones the family again.

Stayed here for 6 nights between the 24th and 30th October 2009 with my wife and our 7 year old daughter.

Holiday booked through Virgin Holidays who were great. Word of warning use the online check in facilty before you fly - our outbound flight was full and Virgin Atlantic were bumping Virgin Holiday guests off the flight if they hadn't used online check in.

Hotel opened in March this year and is an excellent location for a relaxing winter sun break. We opted for the all inclusive and were happy with the choice. One reviewer describes the food in the main restaurant as being like a fast food restaurant - none like i have ever been to! - it was always plentiful and well prepared. You aloo get a 70 dhms per person per day allownace in the other restaurants. We had excellent meals in the italian twice with wine and paid an extra £40.

There are issues with the staff requiring more training and the management need to work on the staffing levels but evidenced by the Hilton Group bringing in senior staff from the US on 2 year contracts they intend to sort it out.

The hotel is 90% finsihed with just some elements of the kids club and a further restaurant to complete but these issues did not deter us from looking to return there again next year.

We have just got back from a 2 day trip and we had a really nice time at this hotel. As you will see from other reviews the hotel is still being finished and if you are in the main hotel you can hear some noise from drilling etc but it didnt bother us too much.

The breakfast is very good and there is alot of variety but was not so impressed with the food at the italian restaurant or at the pool. There is a new thai restaurant (sushi will be served soon too) which was quite nice. We did not try the buffet at the main restaurant but it looked nice if you are half board or all inclusive.

The pools are amazing and the beach is also nice. There were plenty of beds etc and alot of space in the hotel.

The service is okay - the staff are very polite and try and do their best but they are not very knowlegable about the hotel, food etc. This will need to improve if they want to keep their ratings up.

At the moment the hotel is new and nice but I can see there being problems in the future the construction is not brilliant - i.e toilet flush problems, door to room very stiff to open, etc.

I would definitely go back for a nice relaxing weekend -not much else to do otherwise.

The spa was good too if you get the 25% happy hour discount.

My husband and I travelled out to the Hilton RAK for my 50 birthday. We had stayed in the city hotel several years ago and were keen to see what the new hotel was like. We were not disappointed. The hotel is almost finished now and there was occaisional building noise. The main restaurant is not as good as the city hotel was but it is so much bigger it would be difficult to get the same service there. Breakfasts were great and we ate outside most mornings overlooking the fantastic pool. We were AI and had lunch each day at the Dhow Beach Bar. If you only have the salads with the 3 extra prawns you cannot go wrong FANTASTIC and included in your allowance. 3 of the evenings we ate in Pura Vida which is lovely. Being smaller it had a very friendly atmosphere and the staff were very attentive and the chef lovely. If you are going to have the BBQ dont overdo the starters but thats hard. The walk there and back was gorgeous along the seafront but golf buggies are available. While we were there we took advantage of the shuttle bus into Dubai. We were dropped of at the Deira Shopping Mall but we wanted to go to the Mall of the Emirates. We were told that there would be plenty of taxis to take us there and back. Our taxi driver insisted on collecting us again when we needed to return for the bus back and wouldnt accept payment for the outward journey until he had collected us in the afternoon ,cant see that happening in London! The spa at the hotel is fantastic and I can recommend the hot stone therapy bliss. Although the hotel was busy when we were there it was never a problem finding a sunbed and the beach is just a step away from the hotel. There are also staff on hand to give you your beach towel.Dont go looking for nightlife but if you want a quite relaxing break on a fantastic beach book it now.

We stayed at this hotel from 23rd October till the 31st October and I was very worried before we left with some of the reviews these people who left negative feedback are talking utter rubbish. We are a couple with a 7 year old and are use to luxury all the way we booked through Virgin flew with Emirates and luxury is what we got.
THE HOTEL; Beautiful spotlessly clean
STAFF; Couldnt do enough for you, polite service with a smile
RESTAURANTS; We were All inclusive which i recommend strongly. Go to the Brazilian restaurant fab!!!! Breakfast variety fabulous, Lunch at the Dhow beach bar wonderful be prepared to put weight on !!!!
ENTERTAINMENT and ANIMATION Non existant/Rubbish and caters for the Italians the only thing that let the hotel down we werent that bothered though we went to chill out and relax and that is what this hotel delivers.
TRIPS; We went to Dubai for the day which again is a must go to reception they will book a private taxi for you they will stay with you for 8 hours take you where you want to go and it costs £80. This is a totally honest review.Enjoy. Email me any questions.
