Marbella resorts offers a serene and relaxing place. It's a modern but built with the old custom in Sharjah. If you want to experience the old tradition in Sharjah in a modern day, Marbella Resort is a must visit. Great service and the pool is awesome. Great job to the staff. Keep up the good work.

We stayed for the first time in sharjah Marbella resort on new years for one week as all other hotels were booked in Dubai. At first look the rooms looked old and so dark, but I guess eventually we got used to it. The staff were great and the resort is set up like little villas you get your own from porch with table and chairs to have to relax and enjoy the view or have breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They have heated pool and in their winter which was 60-70 degree wheather it was great. The wifi if it was available in rooms complimentary would have been great but it was free only in lobby and cafe and those are so far from rooms, sometimes u need to quickly check an area before u head out to town. They had a shuttle that drove guests from hotel to diera city center in dubai that was great service as taxis are exoensive back to Dubai but there is only one timing, if they had two timing it would be wonderful. While in Dubai u walk and sightsee all day so we were out usually til 12 am or 1am even with kids so if there was a 2nd time it would've been grt. Overall nice, everything was close to resort, like megamall, souq etc their rooms need a small renovation or renewal of furniture but otherwise it's great.

Marbella was built in the early days of oil, and would have once been both grand and gracious. Separate low, white stucco villas with terracotta roman tiled roofs are reminiscent of Portugal or Spain. It is located on the Corniche, but has no direct view of the ocean as its privacy from the public pedestrian way is protected by a tall hedge. Instead our large single bedroom unit on the second floor had a private balcony which overlooked manicured and lush lawns, palm trees, bougainvillea, and ample shade. It is arced by modern high rise, giving rise to the temptation to look up and enjoy the sky. Weather was glorious in late March, and many families enjoyed the grounds & facilities.
Our unit was clean, (with just a few missed spots), with comfortable king size bed and couches (which were a bit tatty). Full kitchen. Air conditioned. Everything worked. No obvious internet in rooms. The resort had lots of facilities (large pool, kids playground, BBQ area, full-size snooker table, function rooms, and 2 well patronized restaurants.)
Location is hard to beat - within walking distance of the famous Blue Souk, and a short drive to the art gallery and museum precinct. There is so much to see and do in Sharjah that we did not use the resort's pool or grounds. We will return to explore Sharjah further, and will return to Marbella.

Room Tip: If you enjoy comfortable, spacious period accommodation, Marbella offers these things. If you are l...

The chalets are old and tired, with many floor tiles, items of furniture and electrics broken. The furniture itself would not have looked out of place in the 1950's. Had no TV for the first night as it was broken and nobody came to fix it until I chased two more times the next morning (and they came to fix the A/C) . Air vent in bathroom was disgustingly dirty and there was a frequent cockroaches running across the floor. There was also no free wi-fi and the place had a slight odour to it.

Didn't go to breakfast or use the pool.

Outside of the location there is no positive to this hotel/resort I can think of. It needs a complete renovation.

We stayed less than a week in this resort; it is quite old but still has sufficient means of comfort. What made it even nicer (with the help of the resort's cooperative staff specially Mr. Adriano) is that we stayed in a very quiet corner inside the complex where only a small green barrier stood between us and the lagoon; so if we look or sit outside we enjoy a green relaxing ambience and if we move the outdoor chairs few meters ahead we can also enjoy the sea view.
Overall the stay there was very good, and is highly recommended for family type picnics.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the lagoon directly.

Perfect location for families as it's quiet and there is plenty of grass around the villas for them to run around and play. Ask for a sea (lagoon) view as some villas just face each other.

We stayed in a full villa, which comfortably slept 6 of us (inc 2 kids) with a large lounge/dining area and plenty room to unpack. There is a kitchen but don't expect any equipment - dishes, cutlery etc. Just empty cupboards, oven and fridge. The villa was spacious and well maintained but a bit faded.

The main pool was great although there is no proper shallow end and the kids pool is still out of action. Food at Caesar's Palace was good but as with many restaurants in dry Sharjah, it was very quiet. Cafe Undici is just by the entrance and is a very popular spot for locals and visitors to hang out drinking the excellent coffee and ice creams. They also serve breakfast there.

The Marbella resort is within walking distance of the Blue Souq and not far from other attractions. Overall, a great location, fantastic place for families, good value, lots of space, peace and quiet but starting to look a little faded.
