My husband and I stayed at El Capullo for two nights in March 2014. The hotel is cozy and the staff very friendly. The common areas are nice and the breakfast has many sweet and savory options (do not expect eggs and bacon though, it's mostly pastries).
We were given room Nº 5, which is right in front of the lounge area, so it can be a bit noisy if there's people talking or watching TV there. But the room is also next to the kitchen, so you would wake up with the smell of out-of-oven croissants, which is not bad at all. The room was probably on the small side but comfortable, nice bed and pillows to choose from. The bathroom might seem tiny, but it works perfectly for two people.
We didn't use the pool, but the garden is gorgeous and a great place to relax after walking around Colonia the whole day.
We would totally stay at El Capullo again!More
