easy walk from the Buquebus terminal. Room was completely satisfactory--comfortable bed, good hot water for a shower. Front desk staff always helpful. It's far from a luxury property, but you already know that. The point is that it meets your needs.

Hotel Rivera is close to Buquebus so you can walk from terminal. A moto rental is across the street and they are the way to get around town. The rooms are small but who goes to Uruguay to spend time in your room. Hotel is clean and has a great ambiance. There iahem outdoor patio that has tables and is good or enjoying a beer in the evening. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is very helpful to know Spanish but they are patient if you don't. This hotel was very inexpensive and we will be back.

Room Tip: The outside patio rooms are quiet and overlook the city and water.

Wonderful staff, good breakfast, EXCELLENT location. The managers have great recommendations for things to do, restaurants to try. Don't be shy! Speaking basic Spanish is a must.

We had more bags than one should travel with, and didn't want to deal with a cab. So we booked this place, and were pleasantly surprised. $70/double and yeah, the rooms are a bit small, but we're in 106 and its not that tight. Hot water ran out pretty quickly, but at least we were warned. The town is tiny, so we walked to the Lighthouse & Old Town without any trouble. Service here is fine, and so far we haven't smelled any cigarette smoke (we were nervous based on another post we saw here). This place is no luxury spot, but its solid.

What a great place to stay! The price was fantastic and I only had to walk two blocks from the bus station and 1 block to the ferry boat when I left. I thought I might be too far form old town, but it was only a 15 minute walk. My ground floor room had a little lobby noise because the front desk and eating area are there, but it wasn't too bad. The room was clean and had a big bathroom with a nice shower. The (included) breakfast was also good and I got plenty of refills of coffee. Also, my room had a television. And, since it was cold and rainy on the night I was there, I was grateful for a good heater.

This is one of those rare occasions where we turned up and asked the tourist office to book a room for us. As most of the interesting cheap rooms had gone we decided to stay here as the pictures looked quite good, and it was close to the ferry which we were catching the next day. The rooms were tiny with just enough room to place your suitcase at the side of the bed. Shower rooms by comparison seemed quite spacious as they were a third of the room size. Shower however needed quite some time to warm up, so turn shower on some minutes before you wish to use it. Clean and comfortable bed. Room had TV, phone and fan. Rooms all faced corridor, so quite dark, especially if you wanted privacy which meant drawing curtains and closing door. Breakfast small but adequate and quite well balanced with no choice. Computer in lobby area to access internet and wi fi available in rooms. However couldnt find any sockets to plug computer into other than in the bathroom which was a bit inconvenient if you wanted to charge your camera etc. Perfect for one night but wouldn't want to stay here if I was staying longer as it was too cramped. Staff also very friendly. Hotel charge 10 percent extra if you pay by credit card.
