Perfectly done steak (with just the right salsa), good chicken, best vegetable dish we encountered anywhere in Uruguay and a bonus side of cassava gratin. On top of it all, a charming proprietor and a comfy room.

“Authentic parilla”
Reviewed 17 February 2014 via mobile

A quality of the meat is magnificent in this restaurant. Very good extensive wine list (try Tannat, not Cabernet). Nice moody decor, warm welcome, reasonable price. If you are a meat and wine lover, you will find your happiness here.

“Nice place”
Reviewed 13 January 2014

It was our last night in Colonia so we decided to spend our remaining pesos on a nice meal. It's not the cheapest in Colonia and I've had better steaks elsewhere, but not the most expensive either. A good value midrange restaurant with a friendly manager and good food, and it's always nice to see the food being grilled right in front of you. I would eat here again.

A lot of the restaurants I've been in the UK, Argentina and Asia drop a complimentary bread basket and a dip onto the table without charging for it. However, it seems to be common practice in Uruguay to add these items onto the bill at the end, which I think is wrong because if you don't ask for it, or didn't want it, then why should you pay for it? I'd rather restaurants just slightly increased the price of everything on the menu to absorb these hidden costs. Anyway my point is make sure you take enough money for such extras when dining in Uruguay, especially if it's your final night and you're trying to shake off your remaining pesos.

Muchas gracias Emiliano Sacra propietario

“Stylish place for meat lovers”
Reviewed 2 January 2014

Excellent meat quality, friendly service and a great selection of local wines. The outdoor dining space may lack a bit of colonial feeling, but the interior is very nicely decorated. It is definitely one of the best in Colonia and no tourist spot as many others.

“It was okay”
Reviewed 8 December 2013

Picked this venue as it was recommended and close to our hotel. The food was okay and quite expensive and not as good as we had expected. Also there were hardly any other diners which is never a good sign.
