“Great Web Site, Mediocre Restaurant”
Reviewed 8 November 2013

We were enticed by the charm of location and a truly delightful web presentation. Unfortunately more than half of the items listed on web were not available. From the few choices, it was difficult to order. I ordered the special of the day, a lamb stew. It tasted like a warmed over left over, the meat very, very dry. We all tested different dishes; the others found theirs to be ok, the appetizers tested were disappointing. The deserts were good and the wine selection decent. Folks were gracious and welcoming.

“Poor experience-valid complaint about burned entree was met with defensiveness”
Reviewed 13 October 2013

My husband and I came across Serevan and thought it would be a nice place to celebrate our 28th anniversary. We enjoyed average appetizers however one of the main courses, a special was a savory chicken in pastry, was served burned. After 3 bites a bitter taste was predominant. The pastry was very burned on the bottom and powdered sugar (?) was liberally dusted over the top- possibly to hide the char. The waiter was asked to tell the chef and he returned to the table saying they could cut the burned part off or give a free dessert. He said these pastries are baked ahead and rebaked so "sometimes they come
out like that." He argued, said half was eaten and at first refused to delete the entree from the bill. My husband insisted and the bill was brought by a bus person with the item deducted. Very poor customer service AND a burned entree they tried to cover up. Don't bother with this pompous place.

“Wonderful sauces and unique meals”
Reviewed 24 September 2013

we enjoyed our evening here, and while it was expensive, it was quite good. The sauces/purees were unusual and excellent compliment to the meals. The wine list was good. Would recommend this place if you are in the area.

“An oasis of flavors in a culinary wasteland.”
Reviewed 7 September 2013

This part of Dutchess County is completely devoid of fine dining except for Serevan. Exquisite Mediterrean dishes, prepared by a very talented owner/chef. The specials are always highly recommended. Attentive wait staff. Limited seating, make a dinner reservation on weekends. Charming decor and atmosphere. A fine place for couples or small groups.
