“You will not find better in Hoi An”
Reviewed 4 January 2013

My daughter and I stayed at the Long Life Riverside Hotel for 4 nights. We had a suite that included a large bathroom and spa bath, 2 double beds, a lounge area plus computer for AU$50.00 a night. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The breakfasts were in a lovely room overlooking the river, buffet style, excellent quality and included in the price. The hotel had free bikes which were perfect for going to the beach. The hotel is ideally situated close to the river and many great restaurants. Hoi An is the town to get yourself some new clothes. We went to Kimmies which offered a professional service at a reasonabe price. Hoi An was our favourite place in Vietnam.

The one thing that was and is great about this hotel is the location. Its close to the old town and still away from the hustle and bustle. And I guess the size of the room was a plus, too.
Don't think, the big bathtub are a nice addition... unless you have a cold you will find that the tap water stinks... i abandoned my hot tub after 2 minutes...
The beds are okay, the rooms quiet except that we were unlucky about having some families staying at the place where the kids decided to throw a tantrum in the allway at 8 in the morning. I dont blame the hotel for that at all, except that after 15 minutes they could ave said something to the parents who ignored the whole thing happening.
Cleanliness was okay - shelfs were dusty... after the second night we had to ask for gand towels. For some reason they stopped putting the in our room.
There is wireless and a computer available which is convenient but the connection is slow.
The breakfast is okay. Lots of fresh fruit and - if you like it - fresh bakery goods. They also do eggs to your order but the breakfast staff does not understand English. The eggs were okay but nothing great. The breakfast room is small and during the "rush hour" guests had to pile away the dirty dishes in order to have room to sit down.
The frontdesk staff is nice enough but not as close to helpfull as we experienced in other places. Maybe it is also the lack of English which I would expect to be better in a place lie this.
You can only pay in cash which is fine, but they did not have any change when we checked-out.
All in all an okay experience but next time I would go somewhere else.

There is a major communication breakdown between the people in sales and reception at this place. We were treated poorly initially. Once we "moved on", the place was quite good. But the beds were quite uncomfy, too hard. Breakfast was terrific and included in price. The seats in our room were also uncomfy - could not really sit in them. Kids liked the pool. Free bicycles was handy and fun.

Spent 3 very enjoyable nights here. The hotel is located in a great spot away from the hustle & bustle but a short walk to all the sights. You would never guess from the outside what lies beyond the front doors but the hotel was one of the best that we stayed in during our time in Vietnam.

Huge rooms, nice pool, spotlessly clean and a very good breakfast (banana pancakes are a must).

A lovely touch was the packed breakfast they gave us when we had to catch an early flight.

Compared to what you pay in other parts of the world, I would also say excellent value.

Stayed here with the family including 3 kids. Nice small pool, great sized family room, (ask for view of the river) we got a free upgrade! Shower didnt have hot water, but the bath did! Good cleaning of the room each day, all facilities you need in the room, including fridge, less than 1 minute walk to japanese bridge, and night market, excellent location, washing got lost each day but all worked out, breakfast ok too. for the price you get good facilities with to be expected reliability as is the case right across vietnam, for a family - good stuff but dont expect perfection! (Loved the free bike hire each day too!)

Room Tip: ask for a river view, and check two rooms before you decide on one, as all are a little different

My room, Deluxe with balcony, was very spacious, with beautiful design. A lot of cafes and restaurants near, old town was right opposite and it was so amazing to explore it by bike, which is free in hotel. The beach is rather far away, it took 80 dongs to get there by taxi, but I found this location the best in town.

Great location, away from the hustle and bustle (but literally only 2 min walk away) of the old town, across the river.
We got a nice quiet room on the 2nd floor, with "townview" (more like a view on the houses across the road). Ask them to show you a couple of rooms and make your choice that way.
The rooms are big, the bathrooms huge and the bathtub even huger! There is a little reading nook, a desktop, wireless internet, TV with a lot of English channels, nice fluffy bathrobes and big towels. On the downside the beds are quite hard, the pillows horrible and the aircon doesn't work very well.
Breakfast is fine, everything you can think of really.
The do laundry, and rent out (motor)bikes, but I'd recommend to just use their next-door neighbour for those.
