So we viewed the rooms online and they certainly did not match up with what we got. It is definitely not worth the fifteen quid we wated on this place. For fifteen dollars we got a less than average room, no Aircon with no explanation because the receptionists had gone home and we were left with a sign and a guy who just shooshed me away because he didn't speak English! The pool looked dirty and the receptionists, when they were there, just wanted to sell us overpriced tickets!

After being recommended Vinh Huy from the owner of a great hotel in Hue (Phoenix Hotel) we arrived of the bus and got a taxi straight there. We paid $14 a night for a twin room, after talking to other guests everyone seemed to paying a different price, room was spacious but everything was dusty and dirty, the bathroom floor had not been cleaned in a long time and inside the fridge was disgusting. As we knew we would be spending little time in the room we looked past this as having been traveling for the past 5 months we knew you get what you pay for room wise.

The first night we realized the air-con wasn't working properly, we couldn't control the temperature etc and the room was way to hot to sleep comfortably. Over 3 nights we asked 5 times about this and nothing was done. We asked for a reduction in the room price but the receptionist told us that air-con was included for free so that was not possible, no apology or nothing.

Also every time we headed out of the hotel, the same receptionist would pester us about going to the two tailors she recommended and slating the others we had been recommended by close friends, if you use the ones she tells you about she gets a good percentage of the sale.

The worst was still to come. We had done a little research but were quickly running out of time to book our overnight train ticket to Hanoi so we booked it through the same receptionist, she quoted us 783,000VD, we thought this a bit expensive but decided this was our only option. When the ticket arrive on the day we were leaving, we were very surprised to see the ticket had been stapled into a piece of paper covering the price. We unpicked it and to our amazement the actual ticket price was just 565,000VD! We had paid over 2,000VD extra per ticket to the hotel. We were shocked about this, we had expected to pay some commission, as we have done in the past with other hotels and companies but never this much. We confronted another receptionist who was on shift, she was unable to explain the extra cost, making up excuses like 'you get food on the train' it's 25% VAT etc, we had used the trains in Vietnam before an knew this was not the case. She called the receptionist who we had booked the tickets through, when she eventually arrived, she herself could not give us an accurate rundown of the extra cost and kept getting her figures confused. She started to get angry and say it was our problem and not hers! She seemed shocked that we had caught her out, but she just did not care about us as the customer, she had her money and nothing else seemed to matter. At this stage we were so disgraced by her attitude and customer service we just left. Again we had no apology, no 'thank you for staying' with us. We left to what we assume was her bad mouthing and ranting about us to her colleagues in Vietnamese.

We will not return or recommended this hotel to anyone. They need serious lessons in customer service.

We arrived in Hoi An off a bus and were recommended this hotel by a lovely hotel in Hue. So we thought we'd give it a go. We arrived with one other person (we didn't know) to find they only had one room left so pushed for us to stay there as they could charge more for 2 people than one.
The room was very shabby, the aircon didn't work, the bath was disgusting and after leaving my sandals on the floor overnight they were ant infested! after requesting for the aircon to be fixed 5 times! nothing was done.
We wanted to get the train from Hoi An to Hanoi so decided to book through the hotel, we eventually got our tickets after asking several times and getting the mixed replyof 2 hours, tomorrow.
When it came to the day we actually got our tickets they had covered up the price by stapling the ticket into a wallet. I undid mine and found out we had been charged 200,000 dong extra each for the ticket! Absolute rip off!
We asked to see the manager as none of her staff could explain what the extra money was for,but conveniently she didn't show up until our car to Danang had arrived, which we were pushed to book as apparently it takes an hour to get to the station but it didn't and we worked out a taxi would have been cheaper .
After a confrontation she still couldn't explain what the extra money was for and why she hadn't told us about it before when we purchased them. Even when we told her we had got the train before and know you don't have to pay extra except maybe a small service charge.
She refused to give us our money back on the ticket even though she couldn't explain what it was for!
All she wants to do is rip you off and take as much as your money as possible, no customer care at all!

This is a okay, cheap hotel. Our room was clean and the staff was friendly. Save yourself some money and don't book any train tickets through the guesthouse. We were tired and in a hurry and ended up paying triple for our ticket!! Ugh. It was our fault for not doing our research, but hopefully this will help someone not get stuck in the same scam we did. Good luck!

The rooms are cheap, the service you get is appauling. You can pay the same amount (5 dollars per room) up the road and get excellent service. The staff are unfriendly and rip you off but making up their own exchange rate to get more money out of you, and told our friend he would get a luxury VIP bus for more money, but he got put on our standard one which was so much cheaper as we booked it two doors down. They will hound you to book onward travel with them, don't. The hotel closes its doors at 8pm and leaves a small old vietnamese man asleep on a bed with a sign telling everyone he speaks no english and cannot help you. Brilliant. I think the women at the desk just rounded it off for me, unfriendly and not willing to help and just want your money.

Sam and James. ps - hoi in is wonderrrrrrrrrful apart from this

Everyone get dropped off by the bus in Hoi An in front of this hotel. The owner of the hotel came to ask if we want a room. Besides what they will tell you: this hotel is not in the centre! 15 min walk at least.

The first night we got a room for usd 10. This was an old, dirty room, with a terrible smell! The next day, after a lot of complaining we got another room (the room they are showing you on the pictures, they only have a few of this rooms). Way better, airco didn't work and very noisy, but besides that perfect. We got a discount, so paid only 10 usd, but they are asking you 15 for it.

The pool is cold... Too cold maybe.

They are constantly trying to sell you tours, tickets and more, staff is lying and very rude, owners are nice however, until there are any problems. We've got stuff stolen from our room, and they were kind of admitting it, but didn't want to give any discount or so. At the end, we got a 8usd discount, the stuff stolen was about 3/4 times the price.

Please avoid this hotel, there are better hotels in the centre, however if you don't have any valuable things with you and you don't care about old dirty rooms, this place is fine and cheap.
