We stayed here for 3days 2nights. It may be an inconvenience - location wise - if you’re looking forward to walking to and fro between Hoi An town and Thanh Van 2 as the hotel is located outside of the ancient town’s borders. Usually there’s 1 person at the receptionist desk who can converse in English, the others wouldn’t even understand what you’re trying to say. So things might get a little hectic when there are a bunch of people trying to communicate at once with the receptionist.
Transportation:
• We tried walking, there’s quite a distance, and it’s definitely not the take-a-brisk-5-minute-walk-to-a-café kind of short walk. Also, it starts getting dark around 6:30-7:00pm (it was July - summer - when we visited) and there aren’t that many street lamps. But Hoi An seems to be a peaceful place though.
• The hotel provides shuttle bus services that are limited to transfers between Thanh Van and Thanh Van 2 Hotels. Thanh Van is nearer to the old Hoi An town.
• You can borrow bicycles free-of-charge, just don’t lose them or rent a motorbike instead.
• Another option is to get the hotel’s receptionist to call for a taxi to get to the town, they charge by the meter (usually less than 25,000 VND, certain streets within Hoi An town is not accessible via car). Avoid taking taxi services if their fare isn’t charged based on meter as the prices are usually doubled.
• Trishaw (they call it cyclo there) rides are pricey for local standards, but go for it if you want a slow-paced tour around the Hoi An quarters.
WiFi is available, but it seems that connection isn’t the best when we’re in our rooms. As usual, computers (desktops) are available in the lobby with internet connection.
A swimming pool is available; it’s not large by any means but clean.
Rooms:
Sheets are clean but not pressed; it seems that this is a common practice in less luxurious hotels in Vietnam.
Bathroom was exceptionally large, but the floor was very dusty. It’s like no one has stayed for too long and the cleaners didn’t bother to mop the floor.
Breakfast:
Buffet style. They had cheese! Haha. The food was not bad, I think it changes every other day as breakfasts we had for 2 consecutive days were different.

Unfortunately we stayed at Thanh Van 2 hotel for two nights and feel this is the worst tourist establishment Vietnam has to offer. Reception staff are highly unprofessional, on arrival without a reservation a female employee with reasonable english became extremely agitated as a few other guests also started queing. She began yelling down a flight of stairs for co-workers. Overall front desk staff remained rude and abrupt with little interest in giving information or hospitality. Further we were treated appallingly when we asked for our passports back after several hours for processing. Also be aware this hotel gladly charges 30% commission on ticket bookings etc. They will not disclose this. The rooms are modern but unfinished.

I stayed here for 3 nights in January 2012, I had originally arrived at TV1 in the town without a booking, but found it was full, so they offered me a room at TV2 just on the edge of town. Don't be put off by the edge of town location, they offer a regular free mini bus service between the 2 hotels.
The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful, offering a variety of local tours without the Western booking agents excessive "Westerner" surcharges. The hotel itself was very clean, well furnished, had a good cafe/restaurant.
The rooms were very large, with quality furnishings, free wifi, good storage space, a comfy bed and a really good bathroom. The price for a really good double room was about £20 GBP a night, which included a really good buffet breakfast with bacon, sausages, eggs...etc, not the typical asian fayre of boiled rice, bread and a boiled egg.
Highly recommended, if I go back to Hoi An, I would stay again without any hesitation.

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel. Upon

Upon arrival we were slightly disheartened by the location, there isn't anything around it, but we should of expected it. We were told that we had been upgraded to a deluxe room, it was very large, clean and overlooked the pool. Within 5 minutes of getting into the room we were told that they know a very good tailor and they can offer a good price! We were asked again when we went out for the day but that was the last.
Breakfast, we went once and once only, not a huge selection.
Pool, quite small and never went in it as it didn't appeal.
As we are traveling through Vietnam we are becoming accustomed to very noisy cleaners and it was no different here. Did find it strange though that people, assumed security, sleep in reception.

The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the old town. We hired a scooter to the beach, locals beach is the closest but the public beach is nicer, not really walkable.

We booked a morning bus with the hotel to Quy Nhon. It is only a 24 seater and we were expecting other travelers but it was full of locals and we spent a long time stopping in villages on the way while they touted for more passengers. Other option is the train but it goes at the same speed.

Would I stay here again, yes, we certainly got what we paid for, more with the upgrade, but if you want to be close to the beach or in the old town it's not for you.

We are here for 7 nights. Spacious and large by Vietnam standards (or any really)- our room had shower, loo, bath and shower above. Amazing bed. Two concertina doors to watch the world go by. Staff very friendly and helpful - with breakfast thrown in. All for the nightly rate that exceeded what we would pay for an average meal out at home. After budgeting from Oz via KL, this hotel was a delightful surprise. Will recommend to all. Fifteen minute direct walk to town - shuttle regularly though, and free push bikes or motors for hire. All good.....

Bicycles are free, so you are only a 4-minute ride to the center of town. Free computers and wifi. The rooms in the "basement" (there's a window at the top, so there is natural light). You can ask for a cheaper rate without breakfast (which looked good) and coffee is free. The free shuttle to their other hotel runs every half hour (or so) for free and it will drop you off at your office of the open bus. Pool is great and there's a bathroom with shower so you can take a swim and shower after checkout time.

Room Tip: Downstairs get the room farthest from the kitchen.
