I spent 4 days in the resort in July with family and friends. First of all, I must say it was much much more than I'd expected. We stayed in Family pool villas where you have a 2-storey French styled building with a small but great pool in the front. There are a little lawn with trees around the pool where you can sunbathe anytime you like. The first floor of my villa has a big sofa and a single bed while bedroom upstairs has a double bed and another couch. I really like the wooden floor as it feel so natural and I like the bathroom which is very spacious will all kinds of equipment. But this is also embarrassing as all door in and out are clear glass and if it caused some inconvenience as there is only toilet downstairs. Breakfast is average however I must say. Well, at least the coffee is redundant and always hot enough. In return, we have a great environment even for breakfast where we sat in big garden, under the shade of coconut trees and cool wind blowing under the morning sun. I even enjoyed couple of insects flying around us, you know, such a lovely experience. The common pool is few dozen yards away from either my villa or the breakfast garden. Few steps further is the white sandy beach with warm and safe water.
I did mention great location, right. It is very near to ancient town of Hoi An where visited the very first night. It took like 10-15 minutes by car to reach downtown Hoi An and about half an hour to reach Da nang beaches where you can find hundred of great seafood restaurants along the coast.

Room Tip: Ask for those villas close to the beach

We stayed at La Belhamy for 6 nights in a private pool, beachfront villa. The villa itself was lovely and, whilst showing some signs of age, was very luxe. The pool area needed a bit of maintenance with some lights needing replacing. It would have been nice to have a hammock within our yard.

The rooms needed a bit more attention to detail from the cleaners, too. For example, there were cobwebs inside the table lamp. Nothing horrendously bad but it’s the little details that are important. Wi-fi was a bit patchy but not too bad.

Spent a day in the spa having a body scrub/massage package. This was excellent. The masseuse I had was very good and, even though this service is available elsewhere (and considerably cheaper outside the resort) there’s a lot to be said for being able to be back in your room, relaxing with a cocktail, within 5 minutes of your massage. Their service was very good but perhaps they could extend this service to offer an in-room service.

The grounds of this resort are beautiful and the beach was wide with white sand. There were often workers in the grounds doing maintenance so it was well kept. This meant that our beachfront villa was not as private as we would have preferred- there is a fence but it’s very open- but that was a minor issue.

We ate at the restaurant several times. Breakfast was ok with most choices you’d expect to see but the pho wasn’t anything special and we had to ask for yoghurt from the wait-staff. They seemed happy to oblige but I wasn’t sure why it wasn’t presented with the other food items set out. The food we ordered a la carte was quite good, though.

We missed the Sunday night BBQ but it looked good from outside. Was a little disappointed that the Vietnamese restaurant advertised was not open. As far as we saw it was only the main restaurant that was open, even the bar at the pool seemed closed. Again, only a minor issue when food is so abundantly available.

Two odd things to report. When we arrived there was one single dessert in the room (we assumed it was a dessert but we didn’t actually eat it) sitting out on the table- not refrigerated. While that may have been ok, it seemed odd that there was only one. Presumably this was just a minor oversight.

The second thing was, while having dinner on the first night, an unidentified gentleman (who we presumed was a manager/owner) came to our table and asked us if we intended to attend the Sunday night BBQ. Being in Customer Service myself I’d suggest if you are going to do that please just introduce yourself first as a courtesy. It is nice to meet and greet guests we agree but they way this was done was not what you would expect in a 4/5 star resort.

Ultimately, we loved the room and sincerely hope they fully realise the high level of service you can see they are striving for. They’re not quite there yet, though.

Room Tip: Go the beachfront villa with private pool

Stayed here for 3 nights with 3 friends in a beach side villa, well 2 nights anyway. The first night was spent in another villa that was ment for 2 couples.... not 4 friends. Ended up there due to management being incompetent and not having our booking confirmed their end. Other issue I had was with the restaurant, after confirming with the staff that the meal I ordered contained no bell peppers/capsicum it arrived with them in it. When pointed out said staff said it was tomato, when the green capsicum was shown was not sure what to say other than to offer to remove it. Instead needed whole meal recooked. Even then felt that it wasnt completly right.
On a plus side the location of the resort was great, very quiet and peaceful area, away from the noise of traffic. Grounds were clean and well maintained( got my first genuine smile and greeting from one of the grounds keepers) Rooms were clean and big enough for the 4 of us. And having the small pool as part of the vila was a bonus. Location to town was great.. only a 5 min cab ride in to the whole gamit of what Hoi An has to offer

When we arrived our rooms were not ready. They had also double booked our beachfront villa. Some of us had to wait longer than an hour to get put into a replacement villa for the night, and it only had two beds. Two of us shared whilst our 4th member slept on the couch.

Our other two in the group who were staying in a different villa, had to wait for several hours. They complained and got a free massage each in the spa which they said was amazing (one of the friends who got the massage is a massage therapist herself whilst her partner is a physio so it must have been good)

Following the rough start to the stay, they moved us to the proper villa and gave our friends a fee upgrade.

The rest of the stay was great and the staff were nice. The main complaints are very poor managment and the restaurant is really really poor. The food is not good (even the Vietnamese) and they do not know how to make pizza. I ordered Chorizo pizza which had not a single bit of chorizo (that I could see anyway). Up untl this point I remained healthy however since eating dinner here the first night (I had a beef Vietnamese meal) I got the runs. I have them a second chance by ordering pizza the next night which was equally bad.

The resort is particularly beautiful and well looked after. There are security at night walking around and men with golf buggies that are very friendly and drive you around. The pools and gardens are extremely clean and well looked after. The beachfront villa was adorable.

They gave us the first night at half price after I complained upon checkout.

Fee shuttle runs in and out of town
Taxi is only 105k dong anyhow

My total cost not including the sh1t food was $153 AU for 3 nights.

We stayed here for three days to simply relax by the beach and the hotel was prefect for this. The place was very quiet and the empty beach and sea was great - although as said in another review there was some litter building up which could have been easily cleared especailly as the rest of the grounds were being constantly tended to (providing some bins would have been a start).
The room was very nice, a good size with a terrace. When we first arrived the room wasn't completely clean it seemed like it had been cleaned but then perhaps have been left for some time before we arrived - however it was cleaned properly after the first day. The shuttle bus was good for accessing Hoi An town - its too far to walk - it was easily booked and the one night it wasn't available the hotel did pay for a taxi.
Overall there were no frills but the beach is great and it was a pleasant hotel.

If you are an experienced South-East Asia traveler and prefer stylish places to stay - you will be dissapointed with Le Belhamy ... this is just a beach hotel, with questionable management. If this your first time in SE Asia - it might be ok.
Good things - very spacious rooms (we do have a faitfo villa in japanese style and le Belhamy pool villa), no charges for an early check-in (provided the rooms are available), free shuttle service to Hoi An centre (10-15 min drive, 5 usd if you take a taxi), large garden, pool is ok (for me a little bit to hot), there are no other hotels on the beach and you can walk quite far.
Bad things - if you want to relax on the beach - you can't avoid the sun - the palms and the umbrellas are to small. So you can save your skin only at the pool area. There is nobody at the pool bar all the time, so you have to run to the restaurant, and wait for 15 to 30 min till you get your drinks. The garden is of average quality. There are no ash-trays neither at the pool-area nor in the restaurant - probably this is an no-smoking hotel, who knows... - but the guests have to invent where to get with the cigarette-ends. There was a path for the hotel staff passing through our pool-villa - so we have no real privacy.
The beach itself is mostly ok, but sometimes the wind brings the garbage to the shore, and you have to swim along the plastic bags etc...
The restaurant is exterimely overpriced (at least twice, compared to upmarket restaurants in Hoi An), the food is ok, but nothing special. Breakfast -ok, but nothing special too, coffee and tee - better try in Hoi An, and no fresh juices...
The hotel is not a disaster - i would rate it with 3 stars. The lack of propriate management and all the drawbacks make it difficult to give more positive feedback.

We stayed at the Belhamy at the last minute after a booking error (on our part) meant that we couldn't stay in our hotel of choice. Le Belhamy was the only place we could get because the moon festival was on and everywhere was packed. It's the type of hotel that we would never choose to stay in normally, and we went there with heavy hearts and not a great deal of enthusiasm, but we actually had a really good time here. It has two pools, direct access to a lovely beach, a big restaurant with a generous buffet breakfast, big rooms, good balconies, a great transfer service in and out of town (which is very close), very warm and friendly staff, and a laid-back atmosphere. It's not cool, it's not stylish, it's a resort. And sometimes, a resort is exactly what you need. (By the way, some reviewers have said that Le Belhamy is smelly. We stayed there at the hottest time of the year, and yes, with the humidity and the two pools, and the endless hosing of the gardens that they do, there can be a slightly stagnant quality to the air when you initially move into your room - but open the balcony doors, let in the outside air, turn on the air con, and after an hour or so, this clears completely.
