This hotel was a splurge and we loved the elegance, charm and service. The rooms are beautiful and the beds comfortable. The grounds are delightful. We were there in winter so we did not partake of the beautiful pool. We did use the bikes to explore the countryside. We were fortunate that it did not rain for the two days/three nights that we were there. It is 2.5 km out of the town center.

Excellent hotel - beautiful, peaceful and very well mainained. The ethnic structures in the center take you back to another time. There is a pretty little water body lying right at the entrance. The pool was lovely. Rooms are everything you can ask for and more, and the location is great too. All in all, what's not to love?!

Villa Hoa Su, is set on the river outside the small town of Hoi An. An ideal escape from the trappings of Hoi An town, this boutique hotel has a resort feel on a small scale. Situated only 15min casual bike ride from the old town of Hoi An and a 20min bike ride along the river to the beach, Villa Hoa Su is the perfect hideaway from the tourist inundated town and seaside resorts. Set in a large pond and small but tasteful pool, the main lounge/dining area is an open pagoda style retreat that is perfect for reading and sipping gin while the afternoon rains do there air-cleansing work. The private courtyard showers are a lush addition to the well-appointed rooms. Villa Hoa Su is clean and tidy with some great features that elevate its home-stay vibe. A casual ride out toward the beach takes you along the riverside restaurants that are great places to chill and watch water buffalo an locals fishing. A great escape all round.

We arrived exhausted after a gruelling stay in Hanoi. For us our 7day stay here was pure magic. The grounds were extraordinary. The Pagoda like structure in the mini lake was a real haven. This outdoor feature alone is worth the trip. On sunny days it was so cool, on a rainy day, (yes we did have 2) it was so cosy. We just chilled out, read a lot, took bike rides in to town (about 15mins) or out to the beach(about 10mins). In the evenings we cycled in to see all our old friends in Cafe 43. The pool was so relaxing. The rooms were designed to a very high standard of finish. Limstone floor and wall tiles, Nice indoor shower enclosure with an outdoor marble "rain bath" and shower. We found the staff very good and friendly. They also helped me a lot in my Vietnamese studies.

Room Tip: Go for a luxury room overlooking the mini lake and Pagoda. Not too sure about the restaurant. We jus...

Beautiful grounds, cool rooms, outdoor shower and bath were cool, gardens etc were just beautiful, free bikes, good value. Service wasn't very attentive but very friendly, next to a carpenters shop so chilling by the pool was hard, the rooms need to be cleaner, a little out of the way.

This is a charming homestay. The grounds are beautiful and the staff are ultra helpful. The rooms are fairly spacious and the outside bathroom is a big drawcard. This place has a charm of its own and you have look past the fact that it isn't maintained fantastically well but has a quirky charm which cannot be duplicated.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the five main villas facing the dining pagoda or the room above the garage if you wan...

The guesthouse is pretty with a great little pool.

Only breakfast is provided. Any other food needs to be delivered from the outside.

The problem we had is that we booked a superior room but when we arrived all the superior rooms were full. We were given a damp-smelling "box room" at the back of the motorcycle garage. The staff did give us a small refund (a taxi ride to Da Nang) but we were disappointed that we didn't get the room we booked.

Room Tip: If you book online ensure you call in advance to ensure you get the room you booked
