This newly looks hotel stays by a wonderful, tropical beach. After a full day in the old city of Hoian, you will need the rest by the pool or at the beach- just relax and enjoy the tranquility this hotel offers. The hotel offers free ride with a shuttle to the old city- you can use it, or take a taxi. We enjoyed touring the surrounding villages, watching the skilled handcrafts / artists who creates beautiful pottery and wood art pieces. If you desire a silk dress or suit- Hoian is a perfect place to find one.

We spent 3 lovely days at the Boutique Resort Hoi An. First of all we want to say that the bed, pillows and linen are excellent. We had a great view overlooking the pool.
There were only a handful of people at the resort those few days, so we literally had the fantastic swimming pool to ourselves. The shuttle bus service into town is very reliable and highly recommended if you want to go into Hoi An to eat. The breakfast was excellent with a lot of food and variety. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The bathroom provided shampoo but no conditioner. We recommend using the shuttle bus to go into town for dinner. This is a quiet and comfortable resort not far out of Hoi An.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms have long distance views.

This resort could have been anywhere in the world- all the usual 5 star attributes but completely soulless. The pool was nice and it would have been good to swim at the beach but there was a red flag (meaning that it was unsafe) all the time that we were there (3 days). If anyone tried to enter the water the lifesaver would chase them out but it didn't look that rough to me ( and I am Australian and very familiar with the beach). The balcony was not very private and our neighbours could see into our room, which felt a bit weird. The breakfast buffet was fantastic and the shuttle bus into Hoi An very convenient. We used the hotel pushbikes free of charge to go into town and explore the environs which was extremely enjoyable and easy as everything is so flat. There was a laundry service next door and across the road and my husband had a huge bag of washing washed and ironed within 24 hours for 6 dollars- the hotel charges meant it would have cost more than $100 if he had had it done there!!! We asked the hotel to organise a car to pick us up at the airport when we arrived at Danang airport- and we were charged $42 for the privilege. We arranged the return trip in a cafe at Hoi An for $13 and we were very happy that we did. Our tally of what was taken from the mini bar and theirs didn't agree but we had no choice but to pay so that left us feeling a bit ripped off. Overall our stay was good but just not as good as we would have liked.

The resort is slightly outside of Hoi An, right at the beach.

Positive:
- new hotel, so everything is still in a good condition
- comfortable bed
- Good service from the restaurant manager: We had to attend the Christmas dinner. As the buffet almost entirely only contained non vegetarian food, we were offer the choice to order a la carte, which we really appreciated.
- Breakfast can be had outside in the garden

To be improved:
- Sound proofing not good, we could even hear the air conditioning from the empty neighboring room working all the time. Thankfully, after I asked, they came to turn it off (which I thought they should have done anyways to conserve energy).
- Staff at the reception come up a few times with strange and false reasons when requesting something. E. g. we asked for a second key card which was declined as they claimed the hotel was fully booked. However, this certainly was not the case, and I wondered why they hadn't just told us that they ran out of cards or whatever reason it was.
- The bikes that are to rent for free are not maintained well, and certainly too small for a European male (by the way, it takes about 20 minutes to go in town and we liked that short trip with the bikes).
- At check out, they didn't want to let us leave until someone checked we hadn't taken anything, although I had confirmed that we did not. This hotel policy in my view shows a distrust in the guest which I did not appreciate.

We stayed 2 nights and after Ho Chi Min was very quiet and relaxing, great pool and beach with a small fleet of vietnamese coracles(pitched palm leaf woven on a bambo frame) nearby, fascinating. The room was very pleasant and the glass bathroom interesting, all spotlessly clean, breakfast was very good with omelette station and good choice of cold items, french pastries, etc.
We found the shuttle bus v.useful for town but be there early for the return.

We checked into The Boutique Hotel for two nights over New Year. The hotel is nice, with well kept grounds, a lovely private beach and a swimming pool. It is located out of town, but provides a convenient shuttle bus to and from the center several times a day. There is a lot of choice for breakfast, the quality of the food is good and the restaurant staff were friendly. Rooms are well kept and a good size, but ours did smell a little damp. For a hotel of this price, I would have also expected the rooms to have conditioner, tooth paste and a tooth brush, all of which were not provided.

However, we mostly found that customer service at reception was lacking. After making an already expensive reservation with the hotel, we were told that we had to pay an extra $102 per person for a new years Gala dinner, even if we were not going to attend. Not only was this compulsory, but we were given no prior notice of this charge before booking. Similarly, when waiting for check in we were told to enjoy a free drink at the bar. After ordering two cups of tea, the hotel then tried to charge us for the drinks. Whilst helpful, we found reception staff to be quite stern and rather unfriendly, especially when dealing with these issues. This made our stay there rather disappointing, especially considering all the positive reviews on tripadvisor.

This could be a really great hotel, but it definitely needs to work on the little things. Especially, given the expensive room rate.

Our recent stay at Boutique Hoi An Resort was good enough but there were a few things that made us question whether we would stay again.

If you want a mix of beach and town, then this resort is in the perfect location. Only a USD5 taxi drive from Hoi An and right on the beach, it's a great spot to spend a few days. The rooms are large and modern, all with a balcony and the pool is lovely (although it was a little cold for us to enjoy it, many people did give it a go!).

However, there were a couple of issues:
- Our bathroom would flood every time we used the shower and it took a couple of attempts with reception before it was fixed. There also didn't seem to be a huge amount of hot water but it wasn't too much of a problem if we spaced out our showers
- The room was very damp - probably due to the fact that it wasn't particularly warm and still rainy season but we didn't seem to be able to set the aircon to dehumidify which would have been good
- Food at the hotel was average, but as with most resorts, you'll get much better food for far less money if you eat in town (which we did but we had breakfast / compulsory xmas eve dinner included in our rate)
- Customer service occasionally left a little to be desired and occasionally when our room had been cleaned, things would be missed. For example, we wouldn't get our bottles of water, enough clean towels / face flannels which meant I'd have to follow it up with reception. The housekeeping staff also had a habit of not noticing the 'do not disturb' sign and would bang on the door anyway. That said, most of the time we'd been woken up by them yelling at each other down the corridor!

This hotel has the potential to be very good, if only there was a bit more attention to detail.
