Hoian is a great location with unpressured shopping, a great beach and good restuarants. We opted for the beach side two-bedroom villa. There are two 2 bedroom villas and both are directly next to the beach. The villas are lovely. Ours had two bedrooms each with a king size bed. One room is larger than the other with a terrace. Both have bathrooms but the smaller room has a larger shower and the larger room has a bath/shower. This is where the epic fail occurs. The bath has a very wide ledge (about a foot) so getting in and out is hard. The shower is one of those mobile sort where you have to extend the hose from its seated location next to the taps and hook it on the wall. However, rather than stretch it up the wall the location of the hook is about 1.5M away meaning that by the time it's stretched from its position next to the bathtaps to the hook on the wall the shower head is off centre. Water splashes around the edges of the bath and gushes over the edge resulting in a lake on the floor. This makes getting out the bath extremely hazardous. I would not recommend the villa to anyone of mature years or with mobility issues. For the money I would opt for a different room. Plus, many gadgets did not work - remote for TV (batteries dead), the security safe, coffee machine.....thankfully the laptop does!

Room Tip: The beachside 2 bed villa has a bathroom with a very poor and unsafe bath/shower.

My husband and I (mid 30s) are currently staying at the Boutique. The rooms are spacious, bright and airy. The grounds are immaculate and feature a large, lovely pool. And the stretch of beach, directly connected to the hotel, is the best one in the immediate vicinity. (Today we walked past the Hoi An Beach Resort, the Palm Garden and the Victoria. The Victoria has no beach whatsoever. The others have decent beachfront, but nothing compared to the vast and pristine white sand outside the Boutique. My only two qualms: the spa prices are crazy high and the pina coladas are more like cocktails (i.e. a mix of juices instead of blended with ice as you'd get in the Caribbean). The shuttle into Hoi An is very convenient. We highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: The hotel treats rooms closer to the pool as "Delux". We were upgraded to Delux upon arriv...

This hotel is right on the beach, which was a huge plus for my group. We enjoyed every aspect of this hotel. My wife loves the pool and spa. The complimentary breakfast is delicious. They also provide bicycle rentals free of charge, which was awesome. One morning we rode to the lighthouse and then into Old Town...this was a great way to see the area. But it's tough when the heat index is 120 degrees F.

Booked a superior double room in the main block for 6 nights in first week of June.

We were given room 306 but were disappointed with the view as a tree in front of the balcony blocked the entire view of the gardens. The staff moved us the the smaller twin room next door so they had to push the two beds together to form a double. When we moved into this room, there was a horrible smell of dog food/burning coming from the aircon, so asked if we could be moved again as 6 nights was too long to bear the smell. We were offered another twin room which didn't smell and again the beds were pushed together. This time we didn't get a second bedside table and lamp so had to use the coffee table and lamp from the tv unit.
I found it strange that we were moved to a smaller twin room rather than another double when the complex was virtually empty.

Small gripe out the way, on to the positives!

- All staff are friendly and courteous especially the front desk staff and the life savers.
- The BEST thing is the aircon in the rooms uses a different electric circuit to the circuit your door key controls, so it stays on while you are out of your room. Wonderful to come back to a cool room! It's also the quietest aircon we've had all holiday. Nice to finally not wear my earplugs at night.
- Bed and pillows super comfy and the duvet cover and pillow covers are so deliciously silky smooth I actually enquired as to whether I could buy a set for my own home!
- Everywhere is clean and tidy with garden staff working everyday maintaining the area
- Delicious breakfast with a great selection of freshly baked breads.
- Great pool, not very cold but the sun was so hot it's not surprising! The sea water was cool though so if you needed a refreshing swim we could go there (being careful of the odd jelly fish though!)
- Happy hour cocktails by the pool between 5-7pm was great - the green tea margarita was yum! (Just had to check the bill as often the staff didn't add the 20% discount.)
- Free shuttle into town was useful and the bikes are worth using too!

Tips on being there.
- We did our laundry at the shop right next door to the hotel (to the right of the gates) $1 per kilo and done in less than 8 hours!
- There's a strip of restaurants in front if the hotel. We got takeaway delicious spring rolls for lunch from the restaurant on the far left of those on directly in front of the hotel.
- a cheaper option (but just a tasty and lovely staff) is Mi Casa. Turn left out of the hotel and walk on the hotel side of street (to avoid being badgered by every restaurant on the way!) down to the Palm Beach resort (about 7 mins). The restaurant is at the end of this row of restaurants and is by far the cheapest out of all of them all. Jum the girl there is so sweet and helpful. The food is fresh and tasty. Worth the walk!

This beach resort in Vietnam is great!!!

The pool is magnificent and the service and staff are so friendly and accommodating. The food poolside/snacks are good too but definitely venture to Old Town for all the restaurants.

The spa is definitely worth it the prices are soo good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a nice beach part of their Vietnam vacation/holiday.

The location is great to bike ride into town (to the tailors for example) or a short cab or vespa ride away from Old Town (a must do and see in Hoi An).

We stayed a week there, Initially we were in one of the rooms in the villas on the first floor for two nights, however the bathroom window is opaque glass with no curtain so early morning light streamed in. We then moved to a standard room, on the ground floor of the main block, this was much better ( and cheaper). I thought breakfast buffet was fine, the option to eat outside on the terrace was too good to turn down. Our daughter then joined us , it was cheaper to book on line rather than book at the main desk for the extra room! One silly point pool decking is black, ouch on the feet . Hotel was full when we were there, a wedding was taking place, but the place did not seem crowded.

Can thoroughly recommend this magnificent hotel. The accomodationand & staff are 1st class.
The transfers and pick ups into Hoi An are free and regular.
The breakfast selection is limited and not what you would expect if you were staying at a 5 star hotel but quite adequate. You only get 1 key card so you need to ask for a 2nd. Dont lose it though as they can charge you.
