My husband & I stayed here for 4 nights from 23/5/14 & would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Hoi An. The Boutique was organised by our Vietnam travel agent Alice from Sun & Sea Travel in Ho Chi Minh & we were not disappointed. We were booked for a superior room but once our tour guide realized that it was my husband's birthday he asked for an upgrade to a Deluxe Room & we were pleasantly surprised. The room was spacious, on the lower level & close to the pool, which was a very welcome sight after a trip into Hoi An town, also you have a choice of swimming in the China Sea after a short stroll across the manicured garden area. The pool staff were always helpful with extra towels. The choice of breakfast foods was outstanding which was a buffett style setup. One night we ventured across the road from the Boutique for dinner to a small restaurant & were delighted with the menu selection & price of the meal. Also next door to the hotel my husband purchased 2 cans of beer & 4 cans of coke for 70,000 Dong ($3.50AU) , we also had washing done at 20,000 dong for 1kg ($1AU). All in all our stay at the Boutique was very relaxing, professional staff & we have advised our family & friends that if they every travel to Hoi An this is the place to stay even though it is out from the town centre. There is a courtesy bus which is very reliable with its timetable.

This hotel/resort is on the beach, and a short 10 minute taxi ride into town/old quarter. We had a room on the ground floor, approx 20 metres from the pool. There was a room above us, but we heard no noise from them. The rooms are very modern, with a super comfortable bed (king size), and nice cold minibar. Large walk-in shower and toilet area separated by a glass swinging door. The windows are double glazed so you don't hear a lot of noise from outside. The views from your room are of the amazing pool. The pool is about 40 metres long, and looks incredible. A short walk past the pool across beautifully manicured gardens leads to a relaxing beach with about 30 recliners under umbrellas. The beach has beautiful soft white sand, and amazing clear blue water. The pool temp is over 30 degrees on a hot day, but the ocean is sooo refreshing and a bit cooler. Breakfast gives you a huge choice of cooked hot meals, or cereals and fruit. You can have as much as you like. A nice little gym is also welcomed, but the aircon is always off.
Courtesy shuttle buses run you into town and back - about 6 a day, usually on the hour into town, and on the half hour on the way back. A taxi into town will cost you about 100,000 dong ($5AU)
Buy your beers from the little shop next door for 10,000 dong each (50centsAU) and put them in your fridge - it'll save you a bit of cash. The same place does washing for 20,000 dong for 1kg ($1AU) and a 60 minute massage for 200,000 ($10AU).
But back to the hotel, it really was the highlight accommodation of our trip (Hanoi, Halong Bay and Hoi An). They have a great exchange rate at the hotel too - better than travelex.
The only problems with it if I had to be picky - the staff were a bit tired/uninterested in the meals area, and the curtains in your room have to be pulled all the way down from the roof each time you want to get changed (there's no sheer blinds at all). But that is being extremely picky, and I wasn't too fussed. I mentioned this on the room questionnaire and I received an immediate email from the manager saying that he apologised and would bring it up with the staff. You can't ask for a more professional hotel/resort. I highly recommend it.
PS. If you want those lanterns, buy them in the old quarter (nowhere else sells them) 110,000 dong for the large one is a good price, and 20,000 for the smallest.

Room Tip: Grab a ground floor room. Less stairs is always better. Try and get near the pool. The rooms there a...

This resort was an absolute delight. We got a deluxe room which was absolutely beautiful - the room was perfect, we had our own large balcony, the bathroom was beautiful with a large showerhead, and the bed was the best that we have had in Vietnam. Particularly as the doona/douvet was duck/goose down so it was amazing. The staff are very attentive, the dimensions of the resort are amazing, and the pool is beautiful.
We also get a private beach with our own lounge chairs and umbrellas which you don't need to pay for and the beach is beautiful.
The food at the pool bar is pretty crappy though, just to warn you. I think the pizza we ordered could have been easily topped by a $2 on-sale coles reheated pizza. (As it was clearly reheated but still gross).
The gym was good, except the cross trainer doesn't work and is awkward. Exercise bike is fine as is the treadmill, there is aircon, and the weights go slightly heavy so it's good for men.
HOWEVER, the only toilet available by the pool for females is one. It is in a large room, yes great we are at a luxury hotel so that's good, however the door did not lock or shut properly at all so you couldn't use it. I got frustrated at that, then saw another older lady across the pool go to use it, come back, get frustrated, get her room key and went to her room to use the toilet - so I obviously was not the only person put out.
I would highly recommend this resort to other people, it is beautiful and has a very peaceful and calming atmosphere. The breakfast was also BEAUTIFUL. Spa however is expensive. 8/10

Of course, this is what it is and it may be what you want. It reminded me of a resort that I stayed in Northern Cyprus. It built in a European style and out-of-keeping with you find in Hoi An town itself. In fact, the clientèle did reflect this imbalance. There was a mixture of guests, either on a tour of Vietnam, who were here just for a few nights, and others that were here for a longer stay.

The Boutique Resort Hotel was chosen for us by our Exotisimo travel agent who arranged our tailor-made tour for us. We were staying at mid point four star hotels throughout. The resort is located 5km from the centre of town and backs onto a wonderful sandy beach. There is a free shuttle bus into Hoi An but licensed taxis are also very reasonable. Check in was relatively straight forward. We were not given a tour of our room from the bell hop. Currency exchange at reception does not provide the best rate - inferior to other hotels on this trip.

The cheapest, classified superior, rooms are upstairs at the front of the complex. As you head back, towards the sea, the rooms get more expensive and also more secluded. Other reviewers have mentioned privacy issues and it is the design of the buildings that cause this. The complex is centered around a 20 metre swimming pool that starts with a depth of only 55cm, making it great for small children, but fairly impractical for anyone keen on an early morning workout. Situated nearby are the small fitness area and spa. The latter was fully booked when my mother tried to arrange a treatment package. Our deluxe room was near the pool. It was of a reasonable 4* size with all the expected amenities. The blackout blinds lose the battle to compete with the equatorial sunrise and you are woken before 6 am each morning. The wifi is flakey. The glass saloon doors, to access the en suite, offer you no privacy and also provide further light into your room. There was no complimentary fruit in our room; the only time on this holiday. These niggles would have grated significantly if we had been staying for more than three nights.

The prices at the poolside bar are inflated if you compare with other restaurants in Hoi An. The service is worse too. One drinks order was ignored completely. Elsewhere we were asked for feedback - here they didn't appear to care. I note that other reviewers suggest visiting the stores outside the front of the hotel for lunch. The local there were much friendlier and I would agree with this advice. They also washed and ironed our laundry within 24 hours for VND 30,000 per kg. Breakfast is served on the ground floor of the main building. The buffet is good. However, you do need to work hard to get a second cup of coffee from the waitresses.

The adjacent beach is clean and uncrowded with fishing boats on your right adding to the ambiance. The city of Da Nang, barely visible in the haze, is on your left. The Cham islands are in front of you. A member of staff is there to provide towels and guard duties. This is the highlight of the resort.

This was our least favourite residence on our Vietnam trip. TripAdvisor rates the resort relatively highly. I would challenge this. We stayed at much better places in other cities. We didn't look at any other resorts in Hoi An, as this was chosen for us by our travel agent. I wouldn't stay here again. It is not a poor hotel; perhaps we were a little spoilt in our other accommodation. The management need to tighten up on the staff and the basic design of the resort itself is a little flawed.

Room Tip: The bungalows near the sea are the best rooms. The rooms near the poor are a reasonable compromise.

Hoian is a great location with unpressured shopping, a great beach and good restuarants. We opted for the beach side two-bedroom villa. There are two 2 bedroom villas and both are directly next to the beach. The villas are lovely. Ours had two bedrooms each with a king size bed. One room is larger than the other with a terrace. Both have bathrooms but the smaller room has a larger shower and the larger room has a bath/shower. This is where the epic fail occurs. The bath has a very wide ledge (about a foot) so getting in and out is hard. The shower is one of those mobile sort where you have to extend the hose from its seated location next to the taps and hook it on the wall. However, rather than stretch it up the wall the location of the hook is about 1.5M away meaning that by the time it's stretched from its position next to the bathtaps to the hook on the wall the shower head is off centre. Water splashes around the edges of the bath and gushes over the edge resulting in a lake on the floor. This makes getting out the bath extremely hazardous. I would not recommend the villa to anyone of mature years or with mobility issues. For the money I would opt for a different room. Plus, many gadgets did not work - remote for TV (batteries dead), the security safe, coffee machine.....thankfully the laptop does!

Room Tip: The beachside 2 bed villa has a bathroom with a very poor and unsafe bath/shower.

And the stretch of beach, directly connected to the hotel, is the best one in the immediate vicinity. (Today we walked past the Hoi An Beach Resort, the Palm Garden and the Victoria. The Victoria has no beach whatsoever. The others have decent beachfront, but nothing compared to the vast and pristine white sand outside the Boutique. My only two qualms: the spa prices are crazy high and the pina coladas are more like cocktails (i.e. a mix of juices instead of blended with ice as you'd get in the Caribbean). The shuttle into Hoi An is very convenient. We highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: The hotel treats rooms closer to the pool as "Delux". We were upgraded to Delux upon arriv...
